The Glastonbury Hotel

The porter was amazing helped me find parking at silly o’clock in the morning even helped me reverse into the bay as I was so tired from working a 18 hour day ! Made sure I had WiFi and helped me to my room - gave me an early knock so I didn’t sleep through for breakfast - fab service

You get what you paid for. No double glazing. Rooms not sound proof so not really quiet. Sea view obstructed by the building next door. Balcony dirty and felt abandonned. No shower handle but a long screw instead. Very small shower Check out said 11 am on website but it is 10 am. Just one hour slot for breakfast. The only positive point is that you fall asleep to the sound of the waves.

The staff were so helpful and friendly and the room was clean and comfortable. The hotel needs a little updating.

Bland check in just got given a key, smells of fags, duvet was really small? Did not cover the double bed, a few odd characters hanging around outside, not tourists? OK location for town, should be a 2 star rating though.

This was my first time in Eastbourne and I wanted a central hotel at a reasonable price. The Glastonbury was central and is just across the road from the beach and a short walk from the pier. However the hotel itself has seen better days and I do agree with other reviews which state the same The room I stayed in was tired and unloved. There was a basic level of cleaning done but my bed wasn't made for the 4 nights I stayed and the bin in the bathroom also wasn't emptied. The bathroom wasn't cleaned either. It felt even basic housekeeping was lacking. The wallpaper was coming off the wall in places and there were cracks in the ceiling. It felt the room hadn't been maintained/checked properly for some time. The bed was also very creaky and so were the floorboards! I did feel like they weren't expecting guests in light of the COVID situation and so made no effort to make the rooms welcoming or maybe they are always like that? The Glastonbury has the potential to be a great hotel but just needs a little love and attention. I will admit that I didn't pay much for the room but there is a certain level of service that is expected regardless of the price you pay. If you are happy for a room which is central to Eastbourne and has good access to seaside activities and don't want any frills, then The Glastonbury hotel is for you. If you want something more comfortable and special, you may want to check out the surrounding hotels. It had the basics in the room but no more.

Old and tired hotel. The rooms are not nice. Location is excellent. It’s ok for a one night stay.

The views were outstanding and room was very clean and staff very helpful. Only small problem was the water pressure from the shower was very weak. But would definitely stay again. 👍
