Beamish Mary Inn

It was a pleasant stay very friendly staff and landlord was checking up on our stay to make sure we had everything we needed rooms were clean and comfortable the food was amazing would recommend a stay and would go back again the only thing I would recommend is upgrading the mattresses.

Had a most enjoyable overnight stay. The room was lovely, clean and comfortable, plenty of space in the rooms and the food was excellent. The portion sizes were so big, that the starters could have been a main meal on their own. The owner and staff were really friendly and helpful and nothing was too much trouble for them and they made us feel very welcome. Would definitely stay again.

2 day stay at the Beamish Mary inn😃 We arrived on Tuesday and wasnt sure what to expect as we had never stayed in a pub before we didnt have to worry as everything was fine,the lovely lady who works the bar showed us to our cosy clean room we had a small bathroom with fresh towels,comfy beds with lovely fresh bedding,a tv with plenty channels,wardrobes and plenty hangers.Pub downstairs is good and the food is delightful,portions are huge and the chef even came to say hello and to ask what time we wanted breakfast and what we would like,now thats what i call service.All in all you really cannot go wrong here such a lovely place within walking distance to Beamish museum, which is fab well worth a visit,Durham is a must day out as well which we throughly enjoyed and dont be afraid to use the buses here they run regularly and are great value.Hope to return again in the future a big thanks to the Mary Beamish we had a ball.

Stayed for three nights. Lovely welcome, especially from Buddy and Mo (dog & lizard). Very friendly helpful staff. Food was awesome, full breakfast included, I just had sausage and egg, the sausages were really meaty, bacon was good as were the eggs. I can recommend, the ribs, hunters chicken homemade burgers, lasagna... If you aren't staying and in the are pop in for Sunday lunch. I never got to taste any puddings... I was too full!!! OK it was all awesome and ingredients from around the area. Will recommend to anyone X

Friendly traditional pub with several local real ales. Good value food and large portions too.

The staff are very friendly at this place, the food is great, but unfortunately it’s let down by needing updating in the bedrooms and bathroom. The bathroom had mold all over the tiles, not a pleasant site. Cobwebs on light fittings that had been their a while. The shower only just worked and water trickled out. At £79 per night plus £20! Clean charge for my dogs, I did think it’s expensive for the condition of the room. The place loves and welcomes dogs but please update the bathroom & mattresses! I hope the £20 I paid as a cleaning charge is fully utilised to clean and update the bathroom. £99 per night including breakfast is too expensive to pay for this accommodation!

Lovely it is exactly as it says real pub real ale real fires bedrooms are about to undergo refurbishment but ours was very clean fresh bedding shower & toilet very clean the landlord and staff couldnt be nicer or more helpful nice fresh evening meal and english breakfast will return thank you everyone including customers in pub who were also very friendly lovely atmosphere

We loved it! Good food with very generous portions. Lovely people. Had a meal in the bar and were made to feel very welcome by the local people. Room very spacious and comfortable. Would definitely stay again. Less than a ten minute drive from Beamish museum.

The Beamish Mary inn is in a great location for Beamish living museum. Parking is free . Food plenty and good tasting. Staff very friendly and helpful. First room we were shown had used towels on the bed and the beds had not been changed. We were upgraded to another room. It had clean towels and bedding. The shower did have mold . The worse thing was the beds. The matress,s should have been replaced years ago. Springs and lumps etc etc . I would have been quite happy if there had been decent mattresses. As it was we had little sleep.
