Arthotel Katharina

The hotel was near public transport to visit Vienna The hotel was rather more basic than we had expected. We were there for three nights, first night we were unable to sleep due to the noise from the street and the trams. We paid 20 euros for an upgrade to the other side of the hotel. The room was exactly the same except you were facing the courtyard which was quiet. Future customers should take note if you wish a quiet room you must not book the standard (cheapest room)

Location was close to metro station. Rooms were nice!

The staff was verk friendly and helpful. Breakfast was good. The room was ok for a 3 star hotel. But the shower was very disappointing there was little pressure and it took a while to have a shower and wash your hair. The toilet had an interesting design one I wish I don’t have to see again. Easy access to the metro and the tram. Not near the town.

At the hotel We couldnt checkin until 2.30pm, our luggage was not kept in a secure room but just behind reception counter, the luggage was returned to us and the handle was broken, no apology was given. Also when we got key to the room they said if there is something wrong we cannot do anything and we wont be able to change your room. Also there is no one in reception after 11pm.I found lots of things not what i expected. I will not be stating in this hotel again. Thank you

We visited Vienna for a birthday treat for my husband. The Arthotel Ana Katharina was ideal. The rooms were warm and comfortable with amenities such as a good hairdryer, hair and body wash and hand wash in the bathroom. We had a comfortable king size bed and although the pillows were a little unusual they were still comfy. The reception staff were polite, helpful and spoke good English. There is a safe for your passport and other valuablesin a room off the reception area but not all staff knew it was there so do ask if you need this. They will put your things into the safe and give you a numbered key for when you want anything out. The breakfast was very good, with scrambled and boiled eggs and bacon and a great variety of cold items such as meats, cheese, salads along with fruit, cereals, breads, cake and croissants. They even have warm waffles. There is a coffe machine in the dining area which is available free of charge until 10pm and has coffees and teas available. There are a couple of restaurants and bars nearby but we did not use them. There is a tram line (Tram D) just outside the hotel which takes you into Vienna city centre (get off at the opera) and takes around ten minutes so is ideal. If you walk to Frank Joseph train station ( about 10 minutes). There are shops and food kiosks, and the station where you can buy tickets for all transport around Vienna. We bought a three day ticket which was perfect for our short trip and used it every day.

Lovely hotel; nice clean room, delicious breakfast (including waffles!) and coffee available at all times in the breakfast room. On a tram route to city centre or about a 45 min pleasant walk. Would stay again.

The hotel is in easy walking distance to public transportation and the staff were most helpful in answering all of our questions and concerns.

Hotel is located a few minutes tram ride from the main city attractions and close to metro (line 4 and 6). Rooms are a bit old dated, especially the bathroom and the toilet, that need renovation. Breakfast was quite good, with a variety of choices.

Nice small hotel. Ideal for transportation links. Not in a very pretty area, however great for a base. Small niggle about the room eventually sorted. Dining area open till 10.15 pm great for a late night coffee or hot chocolate ( complimentary ) Breakfast plentiful and constantly topped up. 4G phone buddy in each room available for use out and about, providing local information, directions and transport links.
