Summit Beach Resort by Panhandle Getaways

I certainly will never book through Panhandle Getaways ever again. When we arrived at the summit, we were rather rudely Greeted by Security who couldn’t even be bothered to check our reservation because P.G. Had neglected to provide us with the room code or leave our parking passes with the summit. When I asked where I needed to go to get this code i was told to look it up. After a call to PG I was given the code and assured someone would come to the hotel and bring us passes right away. Not wanting to miss them, i wasted precious hours waiting in the hotel room, but no one ever showed. I spent the time cleaning the room which had obviously not been cleaned as every surface was covered in a layer of sand and dead bugs. The next morning I called inquiring about the passes again and was told I’d have to come to the office to pick them up, but when I get there I was told that “mrs Nina” at security at the summit had my passes. I drive back to the summit Where I am again greeted very rudely by Miss Nina who tells me she has no idea why they would say that as that is completely against their policy. So more time was wasted. I call PG again and left a message but no one ever returned my phone call. That night our car was ticketed with a note threatening to be towed since we did not have the parking pass. Every time we left the hotel we were harassed upon reentry as well as every time we tried to come back from the beach since we had no wristbands. We never received any of this.

Please understand that I stayed here less than 2 weeks after hurricane Michael landed. The condo was clean but dated. The pools were closed pending cleaning. There were a lot of rowdy construction workers staying here at the time so the atmosphere was not very "family friendly". The bar and restaurant were also closed pending repairs. There are 16 floors to this complex and the roof was leaking due to hurricane damage, I know this because I could see water dripping inside the wall through holes in the back of the medicine cabinet (my condo was on the 13th floor). The property management company was very professional and courteous when I mentioned the water issue to them. Overall, this would likely be a good place to stay when all of the repairs are complete however, I have stayed at several other condos and hotels in the area and this was my least favorite one.

Info from Panhandle Getaways could have been better. Could not download the app they wanted me to download so sent them a message and they responded that the Summit had a front desk. So I assumed there would be no problems. I arrived at 10:00pm and front desk was closed. The security guard at the gate was very helpful and contacted the people with the info I had printed with my conformation info and got the code for the condo. Again the guard at the gate was most helpful..

This whole facility was dirty and extremely outdated!! Everything needed painted and/or replaced. The wait for the elevators was ridiculously long. We took the stairs every time which were filthy. The stairway walls were filthy. The lobby was filthy. So much cigarette/ marijuana smoke around the pool, hard to enjoy with kids. This was truthfully the worst place we’ve ever stayed.

Great location right on the beach. Condo needed some updates for bathroom but overall clean. Need faster elevator. Lol

Easy access to the beach good room the only thing the bed need to up dated and i really dont like tile floors it like carpet. Friendly staff bikini bobs was a really good pool side food shack. Everyone there was so friendly and helpful.

Had a great time, the condo was awesome. Everything was the way it was described and enjoyable

I love Panama City Beach,Fla lots to do and the beach is beautiful. Summit was right on the beach and near everything. The Condo that I stayed in was freshly painted and decorated nicely.
