Amazing host and very warm welcome. Loved the location and loved the people.
Room was very cute, and it was nice to have easy access to a cafe (we visited on the off-season and much of the Southwest Harbor shuts down).
Property was close to the main Acadia National Park entrance, approximately 20 minutes. Parking was down the street not easy to load and unload stuff. No ice machine. Bed was uncomfortable and sloped in the middle when you slept and need new pillows. Shower stall was really small. Rooms were quaint, clean, and town was nice to walk around. There was a bar and restaurant underneath so you could hear the music but it was bad. There was a nice wine and cheese store next door. Easy bike ride or walk to plenty of breakfast and lunch places. I would stay again just hoping for a different room with a nicer bed.
The room we were in was very uncomfortable! The door to the bathroom could not be opened completely as the pedestal sink was in the way. The shower was very tight to take a shower and we are not over weight. There was no desk to place one's computer on. Finding a wall outlet was like trying to find a needle in a hay stack. You were told to clean the counter in the kitchen if you used it and also the dishes. You had to ask for an ironing board and iron if you needed one. You had to park your car almost a quarter of a mile down the road. No one was there to help take your luggage up a very long flight of stairs. You had to be checked out by 10:00 a.m. or there was a late charge added to your bill. We had to hunt for ice and the first person I found in the cafe said, "we don't give ice"! Finally I found someone else who did give us some ice in a plastic container "NO ICE BUCKET"???? Also, to load and unload your car, took place at the curb right in front of visitors and heavy traffic. This place is a total "GYP". The owner should try staying in our room for two nights and they would see and understand how uninviting and unfriendly this room is, a long with being ?VERY, VERY, OVER PRICED".
At the center of the small town , it is convenient to eat and buy small things
Lovely place with a quaint small town charm
The room was just as described, our stay was off season so the cafe/restaurant wasn't open. We enjoyed Sips around the corner and Quietside Cafe across the street.
I often stay in Ellsworth when I have a meeting on MDI but decided to stay on the island this time. I had a 7:30 am meeting in SWH. Check was fine but you check in in the restaurant and it was dinner time. They were super busy but very nice. My room was over the bar and it so loud I couldn’t hear my TV. It had quieted down by 10 but still wasn’t a relaxing evening. In the morning - no hot water. I probably should have called the number I was given but with no ‘front desk’ it seemed weird to reach out to someone. Plus I didn’t have time to wait. My room was nice but the noise and the lack of hot water were problems.
Expensive but very clean and very well maintained.
We never met anyone that belonged to the hotel after three nights. Restaurant staff checked us in. They make you clean up after yourself with regard to dishes and don’t replenish shampoo, soap, etc. internet was spotty and the shower had to be the smallest space I have ever been in. Glad i didn’t need to shave my legs. The bed was comfortable and the restaurant was excellent. Pretty expensive hotel
