Kawaguchiko Hotel

Older property but that is what gives it its charms. Feel the history of the mid 1900s vibe.

Everything about Kawaguchiko Hotel was phenomenal. The staff was so very helpful and pleasant. They were able to accommodate our room change from Western to Japanese style. I would love to come back and stay longer. The onsen has a Magical view of Mt. Fuji. The property is close to a lot of stores, restaurants and activities. Can't wait to see it again.

Step back to 1970, very old school hotel, could use renovation, that said, we loved it because of it's character. December stay, it was cold to walk through the lobby, corridors - propane heaters running. Our room was always warm, great view of Mt Fuji, breakfast was over the top - authentic Japanese. The breakfast room has a beautiful view of the lake. Shuttle service to the train station a nice plus. Staff very helpful.

good location right opposite side of the lake, so have a perfect lake and Mt. Fuji view within 10 minutes walking. close to bus stop. walking 10 minutes to the rope station, the sight-seeing ferry and a shopping street. Walking 20 minutes to Kawaguchiko station. Shuttle bus service to station in the morning is ok but the return service in pm is not scheduled. You need to call the hotel for the return pick-up, that is inconvenient. The hotel needs a overall update and everything is old. Tasty breakfast.

Very nice 3 night stay. Keep in mind that the Kawaguchiko Hotel is in a very old building. But, that is it's charm. We were in a roomy Japanese style room in the annex. Toilet had an odor, but problem solved by closing the lid. Staff were very nice and had no problem with English speakers. Really appreciated the station shuttle. It's a nice walk but difficult with luggage. Breakfast was delicious and filling. Each morning was slightly different and ended with the sweetest fruits you will ever eat. The public bath was spacious with a nice view of Mt. Fuji. Only problem was that it took awhile for the hot water to flow in the shower area.

Property looks a bit old, but is extremely clean and comfortable. We got a traditional Japanese room and we loved it! Traditional hot baths are available with mountain view. There is a nice amusements room with many games and a bar plenty of choices. Finally the breakfast was great!

We love this hotel, the staffs are very nice. We will visit it again. Thank you very much. Everything is excellent.

The hotel has a very scenic location right across the street from Lake Kawaguchi. It's walkable to Kawaguchiko Station, but it's not a very short or intuitive path between the station and hotel. There's a complementary shuttle to the station in the morning, though. The hotel itself feels a little old, but very quaint. The onsite onsen is a nice touch. The service at the hotel was very good. Everyone was very pleasant and helpful. I'd also recommend having the hotel breakfast for at least one morning.

The place is a bit tired, but it is immaculate. It is in an excellent location...right on the lake. Can walk along the lake and pick up site seeing bus, or a snack. Excellent and friendly service. Don’t miss the breakfast, a true Japanese experience!
