Grand City Hotel

Nothing to complain about, rooms are small even for HK standards, but they are fine.

Grand City Hotel is located in Sai Ying Pun, with an MTR station just across the street, ca 2 mins away. There are restaurants, cafés and local stores all around for your convenience - the location is good and avoids the heavy bustle of areas such as Central or Mongkok. The wifi is extremely bad. We had troubles using it between the times 6:00pm-01:00am, where it would keep refreshing or throw us out of the wifi. This was an extreme annoyance as you can not look up things to do the next day, or rewind in the evening after a busy day. The staff just provided with an 'everyone's using it, we cannot do anything about it' explanation, which to me personally is insufficient as I've stayed at considerably larger hotels where the wifi was working without issues. Cleaning was alright the first few days, and later it became sloppier. We were missing soap, hand towels, a dirty pillowcase was forgotten on the floor, and the beds weren't fully made. The hotel staff were however attentive, and were able to provide with the missing items when requested. Also the rooms are quite small and the beds are quite hard, and a bit difficult to get used to. Check-in and out went smoothly. All in all, it was an okay experience, but the wifi not working and cleaning were the biggest issues. I will unfortunately not return.

It's a nice Hotel in terms of the price and cleanliness. This hotel is located in the western district of the Hong Kong Island. It's a nice hotel to stay except the local environment but can't complain for it's better than the other hotels nearby. This hotel only provides breakfast and Lunch but no dinner. So dinner has to go out to other restaurant.

I stayed at the Grand City Hotel for 5 nights while doing a solo trip to Asia last month. Location is very convenient and close to the Sai Ying Pun MTR station. Rooms are small and look a bit outdated - not that big of a deal for a single person or couple. Bathrooms are nice. Some of the power outlets were not working and there is no desk to work from. Other than that, it was a great stay!

Our family (2 adults, 2 year old and 7 month old baby) stayed for 4 nights. The room was reasonably sized, a sofa bed in the living room and a double bed in the bedroom. Our toddler slept on the sofa bed no problems. Unfortunately our bed was rock hard and very uncomfortable. We didn’t ask the hotel for a baby cot as we had our own. The shower was rather strange, the drain was at the wrong end - since water does not flow uphill, it never drained. WiFi was very patchy, basically unusable. Local area well served by public transport (MTR, buses, minibuses and trams). Lots of restaurants nearby. Also plenty of laundry shops nearby. Breakfast didn’t look appealing for the price.
