Bonnie Castle Resort & Marina

We have stayed here a few times and have always enjoyed it, the staff have always been very pleasant. It is close to downtown Alexandria Bay.

Loved our stay at Bonnie Castle Resort. Had a beautiful view of the St.Lawrence River and Boldt Castle. The food at their restaurant was delicious. Great service. Friendly atmosphere.

Place was nice but the restaurant was closed so we had to order food from the bar was pricey and not tasty

The room was outdated and could have used a cleaning. Cobwebs in the windows. I asked for a room upgrade and got it however, i wasn't told that my new room had it's river view obstructed by the boats stored at the marina at the close of the season. It wasn't a horrible stay but, given the cost, was very disappointing.

We enjoyed our stay very much. Beautiful location and loved the vintage feel of the place.

The bed an pillows were very comfortable but the room smelled funny an Tv was small bad connection no guide , had to hold.handle to flush toilet heater was loud clock didn't work ..

We chose this hotel because it had a restaurant. thinking we could have our meals right where we were. When we signed in the staff told us there were no soaps and other accessories in the room. We had to go to the desk each time to ask for these things. The room itself had an odor that remained for the three days we were there. The skirting around the bed was filthy and there was no microwave. We asked if we could leave a day or two early and were told that we would not receie a refund. Overall I would not recommend this hotel to anyone.

It was ok. When I booked the room Expedia said I wouldn’t be charged until I checked in. Not true. I was charged at booking. Then paid upon check in with another card. Now I have to wait 7 business day’s for a refund. Not happy.

Bonnie Castle needs updating, we understand Covid has caused many issues for the travel industry, but the aging and needed updates are from years before Covid. Carpet is worn, fixtures are very dated, still use a regular key to enter room(which didn’t work well, never received a clear answer when we questioned about it), no deadbolt or chain for added security, just a push button lock on inside door knob. Staff was indifferent to any questions/needs we had. The tv is 32 inch that has limited reception and what did come in was completely fuzzy , maintenance blamed it on their cable company and stated”too many people are used to large TVs with HD” We called front desk regarding WiFi , thought maybe they had given us the wrong password , we were told to go outside and then maybe you’ll get a connection. When we got home , I noticed a $10 charge on my card, I called to inquire, I was told it was for a missing key! Representative said she will speak to supervisor, came back to phone and stated supervisor said I signed agreeing to that possible charge, never once was I made aware of that. I asked to speak to the supervisor and was told she is not available, I offered to wait and then was told she won’t be available until Friday( I was calling on Monday). All in all , if you call yourself a resort , then the conditions , from the drive into the property, to the lobby , the amenities, rooms etc. should be of resort quality. Positive, bed was comfortable. We definitely overpaid

Hotel was a little dated but clean, it would have been nice to know it's in two separate buildings office and rooms in one building and restaurant, swimming pool, and rooms in building across a parking lot.
