Hotel Los Recuerdos

Was planning on spending a relaxing few days here with my Medellin girlfriend, but unfortunately her daughter got sick at home and we had to return after just one night. That was the problem. I had booked the hotel for 3 nights. In checking out and explaining why we were leaving early, I was expecting to only receive a partial refund (typical). No no refund was offered, not in a partial one! The front desk said since the room was booked, and paid for in advance, they could not give me a refund. Didn't even try to make things right. Not a way to run a business of get recommendations of others. I will come back to Guatape again with my girlfriend, but we will NOT be staying here!

It is overpriced. It looks nice and big from the outside but it’s kind of old. We were calling several times to the front desk and they never picked up

Nested almost in the middle of a mountain lake , the view was excellent fron the presidential suite and the food was lovely

Hotel Has Potential

The hotel is situated in a good location since it is very close to La Piedra and is surrounded by water. I went on a Wednesday so there weren’t a lot of guess but I could see this place being a bit uncomfortable on the weekend if it gets full. I had a couple of issues and as I said the hotel was basically empty on a Wednesday so if it were busy the service would probably be very slow. The breakfast was decent. Rooms are spacious. I didn’t have hot water in the shower and the towels are kind of flimsy for this type of hotel. The observation deck was closed and I was told it is only open on weekends when there are more guests which I found strange. I would stay here again during the week because I had full use of the pool and jacuzzi without a crowd which is important given the price. I could see this place being really noisy and uncomfortable on a weekend.

Worst and most unprofessional staff ever

We booked this hotel online using hotel.com. When we arrived to check in the 2 front desks women were very rude from the start. They lied and said that I had to pay an additional $450,000 Pesos ($129.00 US Dollars) even though I already paid via my credit card on hotels.com on the agreed upon price of $111.00 US dollars. They were completely and totally rude and I am an avid traveler and have traveled to more then 50 countries. I tried to talk to them and yes I do speak Spanish and they were complete idiots with no clue and were trying to scam and steal my money. I left and check into another hotel almost right next door with no problems. Stay away from this hotel unless you want to have problems and have their staff try and steal money from you

We had our rsvp made by Expedia Upon arrival we were not register The help at the desk were good for nothing Very unfriendly and unprofessional They insisted we pay again They used a calculator to charge us We never got to stay there and we will never recommend that Hotel
