Motel 6 Barstow, CA

Stayed here for one short night on the drive home from Utah. Barely touched anything, took shower, slept and left. There’s a $50 deposit for the standard room, fully refundable, and I still haven’t had it refunded 3 days later. Plus $47 random charge appeared on my card (I paid for the room through hotels.com prior to that). No one picks up the phone all day long to discuss these charges. Not smoking room smelled precisely of cigarette smoke. Mattress was okay to sleep on if there’s one positive I can think of.

The colors lights outside are cute which makes it easy to find. Bath tubs needs to be reduce. Looks like someone added porcelain around the drain and no drain stop so a towel had to be used. Had to check-in three times. First time key wasn't activated. Second time upon entering room trash, bedsheets, towels all about as room had been cleaned. So back a third time to get a key for another room. Because of COVID19, no coffee or supplement is offered in the morning. No wake up call despite requesting one. Green walls as per photos are horrible. Make it a nice blue like the logo or something.

Not a lot of locals were there. It was peaceful. I didn't like the way Expedia couldn't send my reservation to motel. While I waited, the staff was very friendly

Rude night auditor/front desk clerk... Policies are not consistent with Motel 6/ Studio 6 brand- we've stayed in many and this one is just below par on every level.

The property was ok just a lot of people hanging out outside in there cars and playing loud music.

The lady behind the counter that evening was rude, same lady was there at check out the next morning along with another even more rude and arrogant one that checked our rooms to get our deposits back. we were charged $50 per room. There were several of us and they demanded copies of all our drivers' licenses. I have stayed at many Motel 6s and this was the first that demanded all guests to provide DLs or they would not allow us to stay. We had already pd in advance and we would not get our money back if we left is what she said. The rooms were older and ours smelled funky. The tub was rusty and the paint chipping and just looked gross to get into it so we didn't even shower. The ac unit was very loud but at least it cooled. What appeared to be a handicapped parking space near our room, that we could have used, was occupied by an old clunker that was apparent had been parked there a very long time. Will never stay here again. They were not any cheaper than other places so don't bother coming here.

Dont get me wrong the lady the night before was really nice. Checking out was horrible the front desk lady was rude and short and the maid was super mean. Customer service was poor. A scale 1 - 10 i give them a 1

They should have Security present to keep the area safe & to tell selfish people to not sit on & block the stairway.

Very good quality. Surprised Motel 6 is stepping it up. Thank you.

Ac didn't work it was one of the hottest days it was suffocating and it wasn't really clean
