Radisson Blu Hotel Chongqing Shapingba

For me; this hotel was great! Friendly staff, extremely helpful. I can not say enough good things about the concierge service. Tony Chen did a great job planning and arranging my Yangtze River Cruise, that lasted four days. He even purchased my return train ride back to Chongqing. If you do stay at this hotel be sure to walk around on the local streets and enjoy the shops across from the hotel. The food at the local shops we excellent. The morning breakfast buffet is a must have, it provides you with many options and you can eat until you're satisfied. One note that westerners need to understand when dinning at the hotel restaurants, the menu is not arranged to provide you with full or complete meals. When ordering it is necessary to make selections which will make for a full meal. I think anyone choosing this hotel will enjoy their stay, any room choice provides a great view of the landscape.

Nice hotel outside of downtown

I enjoyed my 2 nights at the Radisson Blu because I needed a little relaxation time in a nice hotel. If you’re looking to do a lot of sightseeing in downtown Chongqing, this may not be the best place for you. Shapingba is a bit of a trek and the subway isn’t very close to the hotel, but the helpful concierge will get you a taxi (30-45 minute ride to the CBD). Pros: big rooms with bathtubs and balconies, extensive breakfast buffet worth the steep 100 yuan price. Cons: air-conditioning isn’t super strong, room carpets need replacing, not that much to see in walking distance.

Beautiful interior, very clean

Cleanliness and service were excellent. Staff were very helpful in finding bus numbers and other details needed to get to our destinations each day. The hotel is not within walking distance of anything of interest, but a very short taxi ride away from the historic Ciqikou area. Taxi drivers had trouble finding it, but we could easily telephone the hotel and they'd give the drivers directions. Restaurants on site were beautiful, food we tried was average.

Nice hotel

This is a great place to stay at, with hot spring, restaurants & cinema in the neighbourhood. However, its quite hard to get a taxi here & taxi drivers quite often refuse to take customers depends where you heading to.

Wonderful Experience

We were not quite sure about the hotel location which seemed far from the train station, but it is worth travelling the 15km from the train station. We spent the day at the Hot Springs next door, which was totally unplanned. They are the best hot springs I have ever been to, loads of different springs for different ailments and fish pedicure spring, and waterfall pools. Our hotel room had a nice view overlooking the gardens and mountain. The room had electric curtains which I had never experienced before. The breakfast was great, and the croissants of high quality. There are also a couple of restaurants near the hotel, so you do not have to eat in the hotel.

there are two radisson in chongqing !

I love the hotel overall but caution that there are two of them in CHongqing. this is the pretty new one. the room is clean and comfortable. the staffs are good . as for me, they are trying their best to fulfill everything the customers ask. love their staffs! the location is just so so

Chongqing Hotel Stay

Good hotel - the biggest con was that there was an air condition switch in the room which did not allow the room to be cold as it was actually centralized told by the engineer. The staff was overall friendly and tried to accommodate by providing me a large fan to sleep beside as it was quite hot outside to leave the window open. Just that the fan was really loud. I liked the toilet as it was really open concept where you could sit in the bathtub and watch the television. Also, the cafe had some decent food - ate the pizza and sandwiches though bear in mind that the pizza is not available before 11 am which I wanted before flying back. The pool is nice too as it is indoors. The area is located next to a hot spring which is quite a getaway to relax from city living the whole day as it does not close until 1 am. The thing is the hotel is located far from Chongqing city center so trying to a cab back at night (in the rain) was very difficult as drivers wanted to go home to bed. Overall, would recommend this hotel if you want to be away to go to the hot spring. Hope to see the air condition at a lower temperature when returning.
