Cypress House Hotel

I booked my stay 6 months in advance with this hotel and they cancelled on me 4 weeks prior to my arrival due to " renovations". I was supposed to stay during Fantasy Fest and it would have been the perfect location. I had to rebook somewhere else and the only other place on this side of town was much more expensive. Then, while I was in Key West, someone from the hotel called me to find out when I was arriving. I was livid to say the least.They were NOT doing renovations. I have no idea if this hotel is nice since they cancelled my reservation a month outside of my stay.

So we were called about 30 days before check in and informed that the entire resort was closed for reno and switched to Lighthouse. Not true as we went by and saw people there and a Vacancy sign. Lighthouse unit #30 appeared to be updated BUT the entry flooring had a large sunken area that had a small mat over it and would push downwards. The bathroom although newer, was terrible. Shower door had a LARGE gap and wasn’t level or even. Shower floor tile didn’t meet walls. Shower walls had many areas of missing grout. Top right when facing controls, walls didn’t join and can insert finger. Vanity, wall didn’t meet countertop. Missing caulking and open spaces. Left side near frosted glass was bubbled and walls were separating. Loudest AC I’ve even encountered and made it impossible to watch TV or listen to music. While in the pool one day (6ft from room door) we watched an employee try to peer through frosted glass next to door while she ate. Terrible towels. Pool bar, we had a great male bartender one day and other days a very unfriendly female with European accent. Even though CC was charged for incidentals, they won’t let you charge drinks to the room she said. The General Manager of this property (Lighthouse) should be removed and replaced by someone that knows how a hotel should be run. Very poor overall.

Wish parking situation was made more clear. Seems some guests are offered parking passes. We had to pay $60 for two days.
