Posada del León de Oro v destinácii Madrid

This was our second stay at this hotel. We love the location as it's very convenient to bars/restaurants and easy to get to other locales from here. Our room was overlooking the street which gets a little loud but if you're not going to bed at 9, shouldn't be a problem. The staff is very friendly and helpful. Only issue is the lighting around the bathroom mirrors needs to be improved. A little too dim to do makeup! We would definitely recommend this hotel.

Nicely re-modeled hotel with plenty of character. Very welcoming and friendly staff. Very good tapas and wine bar/restaurant. I would stay here again and will recommend it to friends.

The service at the hotel was exceptional (upgraded rooms for us) and the owners did a great job with the build out. It is very centrally located and we were able to easily cover all of central Madrid and surrounding neighborhoods on foot. Close access to the market and many great restaurants and interesting emerging neighborhoods as well.

Excellent location. The rooms were on the small size, however, very clean and a great location to all the major sites. We would highly recommend this place. They also have the best sangria we tasted in Spain after 2 weeks around the country.

Would absolutely stay here again. Great neighborhood, with many tapas bars and right in center of it all. Flavorful hotel with great decor and atmosphere. Very friendly, courteous and helpful staff. Room was small but clean and modern; comfortable bed and all necessary accessories provided. Our room had the sink in the bedroom (separate from shower/toilet), but not an inconvenience. One item to note is there is a restaurant/bar downstairs and the open staircase layout makes the noise rise. We were initially worried but if you stick to Spanish lifestyle of eating and staying out late, this wasn't a bother at all. The staff cleaned and closed up quickly once the scene died down.
