Economy Inn Barstow

Manager was rude disrespectful and i believe he was either racist or sexist my kids and i were traveling back to nevada and it was late at night so we decided to rent a room to rest the reservation was made thru hotels.com 1 to 2 in advance my card was charged for the rooms with no problems i pulled into the motel which clearly had a open sign on with all office signs i rang the bell and a man came to the window(looked as if he was just woken up and could barely open his eyes) i told him i would like to check in at first he stated for how many then i stated i already booked a hotel. Then he looked at my children and my self back and fourth about 3 times then stated were closed no bookings while there where clearly cars in the parking lot and people coming in and out of rooms. I was exhausted i didnot want to take the chance of continueing to drive so me and my children were sitting in our car in search of another room. I ended up getting charged for 2 rooms i have disputed this charge with hotels .com and was told my money would be refunded in 7-8 days today is day 4 and no refund AND IM BEING ASKED TO LEAVE A REVIEW FOR A HOTEL I NEVER STOOD AT. It clearly states on hotels.com before u make the booking non refundable if a I/customer cancels the booking but how is it ok for the hotel to cancel with no consiquence and how is it ok for hotels.com or whoever to take my money within seconds but it takes 7-8 days to refund something when they or there partners cancel?!

It was a cheap hotel that wasn’t worth the price. One of the worst hotels I have ever stayed in. I would not recommend it.

The owners and staff were nice. The Wifi was good and the fridge and microwave worked well. The shower pressure and temperature were good. But there were a few issues. The tap water sometimes didn't work, and there wasn't a filter (Barstow water is almost cloudy with chemicals). The bottom of the tub was gross looking. The sheets, furniture and floors had cigarette holes and stains. The room smelled like cigarettes despite it being Non-smoking. And the secondary lock on the door didn't work. There was trash left under the bed.

The room was cold

The recrption staff very rude and unhelpfull. Room smells. Fridge is rotten and smelly. Dirty towels. Door lock is doggy. Cold coming from outside, heating bearly works. What they called breakfast is coffe and donut. Hairs in the bathroom. STAY ELSEWHERE

Price is okay in relation to offered value. Ease of checking in.

False advertising. Had none of the amenities listed aside from WiFi, which was slow. Property is ancient and poorly maintained. Carpet had burns. Was not cleaned well. Shower curtain had mildew. TV is mostly static. Fridge door was bent. Heater/AC is wired up weird and won’t work unless you know the trick, which the staff doesn’t tell you unless you ask, and you’d never figure it out on your own, so I just about froze the first night. Staff was friendly, but that’s the only positive. Avoid, avoid, AVOID.

Bed bugs! But great water pressure... It is a cheap hotel, so I was expecting a bed, shower and not much else. The property was falling apart, which is not too serious as I have stayed in more questionable places. The one thing that was not expecting was bed bugs. We camped for the prior three nights so we are sure that we did not bring them with us. I will say this though: the shower had awesome water pressure.

Clean and comfortable bed. Large TV. microwave and refrigerator. Good bathtub. But a lot of items showed significant wear and tear. Towel hanger near sink fell off. Soap but no shampoo. Phone in room had no connection. All appliances had to be plugged in and turned on before functioning. Basic cable TV. Then again it was cheap and clean so no big complaints.
