No room was available at arrival unless we need to pay additional room fee. That is is unreasonable and unfair. Will consider not to book rooms through hotels.com

Wonderful hotel and the service is good

The good is they have a free bus transportation going to outlet ang restuarant malls

The hotel is just next to one of the snow field and easily accessible to the shopping area. But the hotel itself is out-dated. It is still using a key to open and lock the door and you need to lock every time when you leave your room! Because the staff need to explain this for every check-in, there is always a long queue at the front desk. I have not experienced such long waiting time for check-in and check-out over the past years.

Excellent experience with the 8-person cottage that have bathroom in every single room. The extra service of de-odorizing the room (a smoking room as a non-smoking one was not available when we booked) is praiseworthy. On the day of departure, the transportation service from our cottage to hotel lobby (to unload our luggage) and then the ski locker room (to return the ski equipments) was also a 5-star experience for us. Great breakfast with mixture of continental and Japanese food.

Like the huge area. But the direction within the huge resort is poor. Lack of staff with ability to explain and guide us the resort. Taking long journey for us to access to our room. Room condition is out of date.

The group had booked 4 rooms on different bookings. The guy at reception attended to me was unfriendly and unhelpful! The lady attended the other 3 rooms booking were helpful, and all their rooms were ready to check in except mine! Went to leave my luggage at one of the readied room and saw my room is actually cleaned and ready! Poor service! Staff were generally not forthcoming in rendering help. If not for the ski resort, I don't recommend staying there. Across the other side of the station has aplenty of hotel boutique hotel.

With what the price we paid for I think this is a Value For Money Hotel, we got room 196 at West Wing, room size are good and amenities are good. Location is great, walking distance to Prince Outlet. All rooms are twin so you have to reconfigure your beds yourself. The hotel room is a bit dated yet counting the price and all things this is certainly a good choice of hotel at Karuizawa.
