Location - one block from main traun and metro station

We booked this property through Expedia. I had 2 credit cards listed on Expedia. The first credit card expired. I received an email from Hotel Garda requesting I send them credit card details over email. I was unsure if this was a genuine request or a scam. Expedia advise not to send any payment details outaide of their platform. So I replied to the email advising that I would still require the accomodation and that I wpuld update my Expedia account with another credit card for them to try again. I received another email from them advising that the Expedia account payment did not work again and to send credit cards details to them on 2 separate emails. I told them I would ring them and provide details over the phone. We were advised that they could not assist us over the phone. I decided to email Hotel Garda on a new email thread to the email account on their website, to be sure they were legitimate. I did not receive any reply from this email I sent. I assumed the previous emails were a scam. On the morning of us travelling to Milan approximately 3 hours before we checked into Hotel Garda they cancelled our booking. We had to re book our rooms on booking.com at a higher price. Unfortunately we were travelling with a group, otherwise I would have taken our money elsewhere. We tried to speak to numerous staff and managers to receive the original price for the hotel rooms from our original booking however they feigned ignorance and were not helpful in the slightest.

a good-2-star hotel at best. It had a dungy smell in the corridors.

I had to cancel the credit card I had made the reservation with. I contacted Hotel. com and they gave me the email address of Hotel Garda so I could contact them. I sent an email telling them the card was so longer good and that I would arrive with a new card. No one saw my email and then canceled my reservation when the old card did not work. When my friend and I arrived about 6pm after several busy days of traveling, we were told that the reservation was canceled. He also said we could pay the price that was more than double what we had on the earlier reservation or we could leave our suitcases and try to find another hotel. I am going on 80 years and he thought it was fine to treat me like this. A business should be up on their emails. This was the way Hotel.com had told me to reach them. We paid the twice the amount but will disputed it. We had a busy itinerary already booked and had no time to wander around Milan to look for another hotel. Other employees were rude and curt. It was a very small room and in several ways not worth what we were charged. We were taken advantage of because of their bad business policy. They admitted when they checked that the email was there. Obviously I do not recommend this hotel to anyone.

Third time staying here, love the location, very central and close to metro and central station. However, condition found a little more run down. Air conditioning switched off this time. It was cool and we opened Windows but think could do with a little tlc.

Convenient location. Near the train station and metro.

Nice basic hotel very close to Milano Centrale. Better suited for short stays if using trains in Milan
