Southern Sun Rosebank

It was a surprise that the establishment had changed names from Crowne Plaza to Southern Sun. The first time I heard about this was when our taxi driver told us about the name change. Luckily, the driver knew where to take me. It was also somewhat of an inconvenience to find that the hotel lobby was under renovation. Nevertheless, the staff were very friendly and helpful.

No issues about comfort, quality of service and breakfast.. Getting work done whilst I was there, in reception area, so no inconvenience at all

Stayed for 6 nights in Jan 2020. The hotel lobby is being rebuilt, and there is enormous noise and smell - but the guys are working hard. The staff is enormously cliebt-oriented and friendly. Room was spacious and well-appointed, every staff member was without fault friendly and helpful. Hotel runs a complementary shuttlw to the nearby mall and Gautrain station every hour. Will be back

Nah. It’s okay but not great.

Better than expected, and close walk to Rosebank mall (less than 5 mins). Good service and room was comfortable.

Poor check-in and poor check out. Uninterested staff working at this place. Room was basic but comfortable. Gym needs more machines. Parking is safe and a nice touch - although you have to pay for it but not much. Bkfast is very expensive and average It is close to restaurants

Great hotel, with a great structure the staff was very nice and helpful specially Mbuyiselo and Lettie they sure made de stay smother! Points and comments about the hotel: - location: its about 35 minutes from the airport or Rambo and a 350 rands Uber ride, for me it was perfect because I was taking the hop on hop off and it’s really near the point of pick up! Also there is a mall about two blocks away, with a lot of stores some supermarkets and a sin card store where I bought mine (telkom, and so far it’s been great, and WAY cheaper than in the airport) - accommodations: overall very great, the bed seems to hug you! Some attention points is that the air doesn’t get very cold, I even changes rooms because mine was so hot, but I like to sleep with low temperatures so there is that, also there was a house keeping mistake where there wore some tennis shoes that were not mine on my bedroom and that was a bit weird, but overall a good experience! The breakfast is nice, they could improve the hash browns but still delicious with soft eggs! If you aren’t looking for somewhere agitated with a lot of people and stores and restaurants I would recommend staying around Mandela Square, was he rosebank neighborhood it’s really quiet

Hotel was advertised as adjacent to mall, but it wasn’t. Main bar and lobby area a building site. Only one Resturant not two.

Wrong room than I booked, poor selection of food and beverages. Couldn't give a refund when i left early.

Staff was very friendly and accommodating. Hotel was very clean also.
