Ambasciatori Hotel

Breakfast on the rooftop overlooking the city as the sun came up each morning was absolutely breathtaking! The staff were excellent and anxious to please. We found our accommodations comfortable and clean. If we return to Palermo we would definitely come back to this hotel

The most amazing view from the roof terrace where the breakfast is served. Not all members of the staff were very pleasant and helpful.

..We liked the roof terrace.Room 502, 5th floor next to laundry, linen trolley outside door 24/7.5 flights of stairs to dining room on 7th floor lift only to 5th floor . Minimal breakfast, last morning - no plates, no tables set, hardly any food at 9.15am! Certainly NOT 4 star as advertised..

The service at this hotel was great. The lady at the reception was friendly and helpful. We asked for a quiet room at the top floor, and that's exactly what we got, and we are very grateful for that. The biggest problem was posed by the heating system of the hotel. We discovered the hard way that they shut off the radiators at around 2 or 3 in the morning. We woke up in a cold room. In addition to the radiator, there was a thermostat on the wall. Unfortunately it hasn't been calibrated well. Turns out that one needs to set it to 27 degrees in order to get 19 or 20 degrees in several hours. In any case, we both got serious colds as a result of being cold at night at the Ambasciatori Hotel, and it has been reducing the quality of our trip for the past week now. The hotel claims to have on site parking. Turns out there are two parking spaces (for the entire hotel). They are always full. The hotel has a deal with a parking lot that is about a 10 minute walk from the hotel. The walk is through narrow, dark streets, filled with SCARY people. So it isn't safe to pull out a smartphone or GPS there, but otherwise one is bound to get lost. At the parking lot, a dodgy-looking character insists that one leaves the keys with him, so that he could park the car there. So make sure your car is fully insured (lots of banged up cars at that lot), and that you leave nothing in the car as you park illegally in front of the hotel (no other good options) to unload your luggage.

The physical Hotel was not what we were expecting based on its “four star” rating on hotels.com. Rooms are dated, odd smell in the hotel. However the service from everyone at the property - waitstaff at the restaurant to front service desk - was fabulous. Great location near the temples. Amazing terrace which would be great in summer

The location is ideal. The staff were uniformly helpful and friendly. The front desk made calls and arrangements for us when we had reached the limits of our capacity to function as a non-Italian speaking guest.

The Ambasciatori Hotel (Albergheria, Palermo, Italy) is a great hotel! Especially beautiful is the view of the evening and night Palermo from the balcony of the 7th floor. Linen is changed every day, European breakfast. Everything is very good and beautiful!

We walked from the train station to the hotel after dark and were quite taken back by the neighborhood. There is quite a bit of graffiti and a lot of empty shop fronts. BUT, this is Palermo, not Rome or Florence. It’s gritty. Once we got used to it, we loved Palermo. The service at the hotel was the warmest and most genuinely friendly we’ve had in a long time. The hotel itself should be ranked as a 3 star hotel, not 4 star.

The rooftop view of the city from the restaurant was unbelievable! I'm pretty sure this hotel has Palermo's best-kept secret.

Lovely hotel, old world with adequate modern amenities. Staff very helpful and the rooftop terrace has a view of Palermo that cannot be beat. All in the heart of downtown.
