Maison de Chine is a pretty big Taiwanese hotel franchise. I have been to a few of them in Taiwan, and this particular hotel is one of the smaller ones. This is the only one that I have been to that has two separate buildings, and if you choose this "Pin Chen" building, you end up in a smaller and older building across the street from the actual Maison de Chine, which they seem to have bought out from another tourist hotel that wasn't doing so well. This Pin Chen seems to be where they house all the Chinese tourist groups, but thanks to the Wuhan pneumonia, there were no Chinese tourists. The doors of the rooms are not very soundproof, so if Chinese tourists were there, then forget sleep. Also, this building does not provide any toiletries. If you need toothpaste, toothbrush, comb or razor, call the front desk, and they will bring it over for you from the other building. The main building seems to have these toiletries in the rooms. One thing I would suggest for anyone trying to stay at a L'hotel de Chine hotels is to bring your own shampoo, conditioner and body wash, because what these hotels provide smells like kerosene. I think the franchise intentionally does this so that people don't take their amenities, but seriously, there are cheaper hotels that provide L'occitane. Someone should tell the superiors of L'hotel de Chine group to stop being so cheap.

Good location but the facility are far away from the room . Eg need to cross the road for swimming pool .

Bad food. Good room.

Everything was quite good except for the food. We chose this hotel because there were several good reviews for the buffet breakfast. In fact breakfast was horrible. Eggs were cold, most items were overcooked,and all very poor quality.

Hotel was situated away from the main city. Taxi from Fengjia Market cost around NT$180. It is a 10min ride.

Nice hotel for but far from public transportation

Reception staff are friendly and helpful. But far from public transportation and other amenities.

2 Star Hotel- 4 Star Price

We ended up in the ugly old wing with terribly rude local floor- mates which illustrated the poor insulation of the rooms. The elevator “ding” still reverberates in my head further showing the quality of sound-proofing in the old rooms. Paid for 3 people and only had supplies for 2. Call 1. Pre-requested feather-free room. The request wasn't understood. Call 2. ¼ full roll of toilet paper left in room for 3 people. Call 3. It was replaced with a ¾ full roll and no extra roll was left. Room is a bit shabby; carpet is disgusting (slippers provided thankfully). Breakfast ends at 0930- contrary to what you're told. Don't bother unless you want salad or congee as the rest of the dishes are truly awful. Not many other eating options really close by day or night. Location is terribly inconvenient to the rest of the city. Had hoped for the newer wing, but... For this price, I would NOT stay here again.

The front desk and bell hop were very helpful and courteous and gracious in their attitudes and actions. The bell hop apologized repeatedly for taking more than 10 minutes to bring our bag to our room. He also helped with getting taxis for us and giving us directions locally. The staff's attitudes made us feel at home and very welcomed.

Good price decent place

Was not spectacular wow but for the price and the quality it was good. hotel is nice and isolated so barely any sound pollution. The rooms design kind of through us off at start but not much complaints as it was acceptable
