Royal Palace Westwood

We felt very lucky to find this hotel. Reasonable rates, breakfast included and, amazingly, off-street parking included.

It was a little tricky to find the hotel since streets around it were blocked, but otherwise the location was amazing based on proximity to UCLA. I was so happy to get a place with sufficient parking, as well, as many of the hotels in the area do not have as many parking spots as rooms. The room was a very pleasant surprise as it had a sitting area and separate bedroom. The bathroom was a little small and you could see the age of the building in some areas of the room, but overall it was very comfortable and pleasant. The bed might have been a bit soft, but that is personal preference so it might be just right for someone else. I also received a text message early in the morning that there was no early check-in. I have never had that happen before and really appreciated it. I did not have breakfast at the hotel, but it looked good.

AWFUL. Clogged toilet. Clogged bathtub. Staff making noise and waking you up at 3am every morning, STAY AWAY!!!!

The hotel room was great, clean and comfortable. The pillows are uncomfortable and the hotel is dated. But regardless it was safe and had a great staff. Parking is tight, don’t take a big truck or you won’t have anywhere to park

This is a perfectly adequate option if you need to be walking distance to UCLA as I did. The inside of the room has clearly been updated but the hotel has not. The door to my room felt like it was made of cardboard -- could have easily been kicked in. My biggest issue was the AC unit. The minute I turned it on my allergies were a mess -- there's clearly a mold issue there. But it was only one night and met my needs.
