Best Western Lansdowne Hotel

Nice friendly staff super efficient book in. Room was ok, bed very hard. Decent size tv. Bathroom a bit tired plenty of hot water. Thing i liked most was the little snug areas on lobby level. Great for family gathering . Breakfast 😕😕 not so good. Stale pastry. Bacon stored under heat too long. Poached eggs raw. Sausages a bit tough

Lovely, spacious room with part sea view. Shower was a bit tricky, as the water came out scalding and took a bit of messing around to get something safe. Staff great and working under difficult circumstances. Breakfast reduced choice, but still good. Having a time slot worked OK for us, but might be less good if you were on a timetable/in a hurry. Hope the hotel (and others like it, with huge overheads) manage to survive. It would be a tragedy to lose them.

As most places during the Covid lockdown, the atmosphere was subdued but the staff were great, the Covid restrictions clear and the food and rooms were fine. I'd stay there again for sure.

Pleasant looking hotel from the outside in a nice seafront location. I only stayed one night to enable an early start on the South Downs Way so didn’t make full use of the hotel’s facilities. It was clean with the usual Covid precautions in place - plenty of sanitiser, one way systems etc. My room was basic and the bathroom a little dated but perfectly adequate. The main problem was zero sound proofing. Footsteps from the room above, being able to follow phone conversations next door or hear a neighbouring rooms toilet visit quite clearly. Considering I wanted a good nights sleep this was a large minus against the Lansdowne. In the morning breakfast was very nice and checkout painless so on the whole it was satisfactory stay but nothing special.

Hotel is perfectly located on the seafront and near lots of restaurants / shops. Parking is available right opposite the hotel at £2 a day. The rooms are a little tired and no air con but on plus side the shower had very good water pressure and bed was comfy. The staff were all polite and friendly despite working in difficult times. Hotel bar prices reasonable and there are various rooms to sit in.

Loved this hotel. Proper old fashioned but modern touches hotel. I only had a single room, but it had a great view of the sea. Also the room was clean and comfortable, and not too hot. The hotel seemed huge, but rooms were clearly signposted. I would definitely come back an stay.

Situated right on the front opposite the 'big wheel' this is a lovely cosy hotel. Lots of sitting areas/lounges around on the ground floor, though with the present situation we didn't use them. Decor is a bit dated but hey ho...no big deal. Lovely and clean throughout. Really good breakfast with lots of choices. I'd like to mention that the staff are doing a great job in difficult circumstances. The breakfast team were very efficient as well as friendly. I would stay here again! One mention of car parking; it's offered when you check in for on the main road at just £2 per night and the last night's parking includes up to 11am checkout time the next day. Great value.
