Aqua Skyline at Island Colony

The area the hotel is located is the bad part of town, lots of crime and I heard sirens all night long! Got no sleep, I heard just about everything from the room outside. I think the sliding glass door needs to be replaced with a sound proof one. When it came time to do laundry, no one from the front desk told us that we needed a key card and it has to be loaded with $$. Thought we had access to the gym but that was another trip to the front desk to get access. Everything was a trip to the front desk. The desk chair was about ready to fall apart. One of the glass louvers broke when trying to open the window for fresh air, glass was everywhere. Air conditioner was so loud you couldn’t have a conversation and hear the other person talk. The water catch for the air conditioner outside was overflowing and was never emptied.

This was the end of our Hawaii vacation. We chose Island Colony because we had admired thd building. We were pleased w the staff, amenities n the building's security. We had a studio which was clean n comfortable but small as we ended up staying longer than the original 3 days planned due to weather on the East Coast. We had to change our departure plansn add 3 days. The staff was sooo great..they printed our boarding passes, gave us breakfast vouchers and even fixed our TV! There is a nice coffee shop in the lobby area, parking at the building, pool, jacuzzi, laundry area, store on premises, We will definitely stay there again they helped make the end of our trip as enjoyable and comfortable as the rest of it

Location was central and close to many shops and dining locations. Spectacular views from 34th floor. Woken by sirens often. Wonder if there is a fire station near by.

WORST EXPERIENCE!!! The room we were in the first night was very loud. They let us move the next day. The room had broken AC and they were unable to fix. They didn’t have room available for us to move until the next day. The new room had no hot water!!! I am Very disappointed.

Hotel bathroom was tiny, you have to pay $25/night to park there, or find free parking on the street. Elevators take forever to come most of the time, so it takes a while to get up and down. Our room was right next to a garbage chute which could get super loud when people threw things down, the ac unit was very loud, and the sliding glass door pretty much didn't keep out any noise. We did have a cockroach in our room as well that we had to call the front desk to have them send someone up to kill it. The bed and pillows weren't comfortable. I think the only good things about the hotel is that it's close to a lot of shopping (near the International a Market Place mall), and they did let you check out towels, umbrellas, and beach chairs, and you could check out movies and they had PlayStations in all the rooms (not that we cared or wanted to use it, but I'm sure some people would).
