good budget choice. basic, but clean and comfortable, good local transport options.

Internet connection was essentially non existent; for someone traveling on business, that is unacceptable. Staff response to complaints was: "We know. We are working on it." They've been 'working on it' for months (last stayed here in September. Same issue.) Combine that with a complete lack of air conditioning during a heat wave which necessitated keeping the windows open in an effort to cool the room and housekeeping who kept closing the window and opening the drapes during the day thereby adding to the heat in the room . . . uncomfortable doesn't come close to describing it. Icing on the cake: surly staff members; construction and noise on the street outside making it difficult to sleep. Net conclusion: Never again.

Checking in was quick and simple. The receptionists were very friendly. There is a bar next to the reception desk open until midnight and a vending machine next to the lifts. If you do not have tea and coffee making facilities in your room, there is also a vending machine for hot drinks there too. The tourist information stands are very well stocked, and all of the leaflets are up to date. It is the most comprehensive stand I have seen in a Berlin hotel and they also have some fabulous wallet sized tourist information cards and even a little map. Finally, there are two good sized lifts up to your room. I stayed in room 406, which is a Standard Double Room. This did not have a mini-bar or tea and coffee making facilities. I think the more expensive rooms do. It is a good-sized room. You wouldn’t feel claustrophobic here. The décor was a little tired looking, but very clean. There are two chairs, a desk, 55cm TV with remote, TV guide, bench/suitcase ledge, double wardrobe and a very modern bathroom and toilet. The Windows fill a whole side of the room and look out over the back of the adjacent buildings. I stayed for ten days and housekeeping came every day. The room was spotless, and I think the bed linen was changed daily. The bed came with two single quilts and two pillows, a big one and a little one. The bed was comfortable, and the pillows were just right. I’m a not a heavy sleeper and I found it very quiet, with very little noise from the lift or other residents.

A fantastic all round hotel that prides itself on its cleanliness. For any balmy summer evenings it has an outside decking area to enjoy a relaxing drink. I love the hotel for many reasons one coming to mind is the quality of the mattresses in the room, they are nice and firm allowing a peaceful nights sleep. The hotel is virtually in the centre and the local ubahn is within 50 metres walking distance. The highlight to finish the holiday is how convenient it is to get to Tegel airport. 40 yards away you can get the 100 number bus for a few stops to Zoo Gardens then change there for the bus to Tegal Airport. Whole journey from hotel takes an average of 35 minutes all for a few euros.
