Kachina Lodge

Convenient location. The burger stand is within walking distance and has great food. Hotel has been updated since our last stay. However the building is still old and has some issues. Our room had a few cleanliness issues. But nothing to deter is from staying there again. COVID I think is playing a large part in some of the issues. Front desk was helpful and check in was easy. We got a better rate from Hotels.com then what the hotel offered when I called. Which worked out well for our trip!

I wanted an inexpensive hotel for a short ski trip by myself. I wasn't looking for a resort and Kachina Lodge was what I expected for the price. The overhead light was dim and I asked for a higher-wattage bulb to be used, but I didn't notice any difference if they changed it. Heat was a bit difficult to regulate.

Rooms were very spacious and the beds were comfortable. Would stay there again.

First desk lady was rude. Bath tub was dirty.

The hotel is over priced but most hotels are in Taos. It is a really old hotel more than 40yrs and could use some updated painting, walls are very thin, you can hear the conversations going on in the rooms next to you. I may be wrong, but the shared bathroom wall of rm 150 seems like they may have monthly renters. Staff is very friendly and helpful other wise.

The room was spacious and lovely and the hotel grounds are beautiful. The front desk clerk was very friendly and helpful.

Very nice; I would definitely stay there again. Check-in was professionally done and the lobby was lovely. My only complaints were that the floor of the room didn't feel completely clean (like maybe it was swept but not mopped?) and that the room was a non-smoking room, but definitely smelled like smoke.

The house keeping knocked on the door a little past 9 am and then started unlocking and entering the door unannounced at 10:30 am. They didn’t report several valuable items that I accidentally left behind (which means they either didn’t find them, doing a bad and un-thorough job of cleaning) or the pocket the items to keep. I was visited by a mouse several times throughout the night which I usually don’t mind if I am camping outside but not while I paid money to stay indoors. Front desk clerk was not helpful and a little condescending. I think with a different staff, the place would be amazing. I like the esthetics, price and location.

Loved how quiet it was. I was able to get good quality sleep. I also loved that my room had hard wood floors instead of carpet. The room was very clean.
