DoubleTree Resort by Hilton Grand Key - Key West

Hotel was good but we left with a very bad taste! was a very short stay, we booked the room at around 5:30pm same day via internet. Hotel arrival was at around 7pm... hotel experience was okay. However.... immediately after hotel check-in we booked a jetski trip via Key West Jetski Inc a roundtrip for next morning pick-up at 8:30am... thereafter we went for a meal in a restaurant at Duvel st which didnt land very wel with me! I felt really sick at night, had a bad night! So had to cancel the jetski-trip next morning at 8am when the gentleman arrived at the desk! I had paid $255.85 which I couldn’t get back coz of 24-hr cancellation policy according to the gentleman! 24hrs...!!?? I only booked the jetski’s 12hrs beforehand! So cancellation within 24hrs is impossible, does not apply to us! I was too sick to argue..and just left for long 5-hour drive back to Miami. Meanwhile we are Safely back home now in Holland, all is fine that is most important but overall we felt bit mistreated (not on purpose, to the contrary, the gentleman was very kind and pleasant!) But we left with a very bad taste in our mouth, wish we at least could get half of our money back...USD255 is a lot... am wondering if they managed to resell both jetski’s... Please since this happened in your hotel can you assist us and liaise with Key West Jetski Inc Management and request them a refund on our behalf .. Paid extra for a balcony view and it was a corner balcony facing a loud parking lot and wall where workers were moving hotel vans. Tried to switch but no other ones were available. They did try to help, but didn’t offer any compensation. Also there was so much chlorine in the pool that after 30 mins in pool my hair turned very green and it won’t come out despite many showers and shampoos (including one immediately after pool use). Photo included was after 5 shampoos with different products. They should probably balance their chlorine levels in the pool.

First of all the staff including front desk, housekeeping, bar tenders, and concierge were extremely friendly and helpful. Pluses include free parking and free hourly shuttle to "Old Town". It is located adjacent to the airport but there was not a lot of jet noise. What disappointed me was the general condition of the interior which needs an update. The furniture had scratches and the room was generally dark . The sink area has very little room for toiletries. The tile in the bathroom could use re-caulking. Considering that this is a Hilton property, we were willing to pay a little more (plus the "Resort Fee"), but I think we could have done better for the price point.

Very good & relaxing The only thing that needs attention is the pool Pool water was very cloudy Hot tub was crystal clear

Room was small but comfortable! Pool area was beautiful!!! Breakfast was average for 15.00 for all u can eat. Location is far from downtown but hourly shuttle pick ups and drop offs to downtown were very convienient! Staff very friendly and accommodating!! Free parking and seemed to have plenty of parking which is nice if you drive down.
