Benchmark Inn

We stayed here for a trip to San Angelo for the Stock Show with our family because we we were showing animals. The room was very clean and it would have been a great stay and was very affordable however during our stay the city had a city wide water shut down where the water became contaminated and deemed unusable until further notice. You were not to brush your teeth, shower, or consume it in anyway. You could not even boil it because it was not bacterial in nature. Even restaurants were shutdown for 24-48hrs. All other hotels/motels notified their guests of this emergency and provided water bottles for their guests to allow them to brush their teeth until further notice all you could do was flush toilets, however this hotel did not once tell us anything about it!!! Not one single note on the door!! We only found out about it because of other parents from their hotels and from the event we were attending. Luckily we got word from our friends before using the water that had been contaminated. Very disappointed that they did not feel the need to alert their guests of something that could have potentially been detrimental to their health!!! I do not recommend!

This place isn't even a Benchmark anymore, it is a Rodeway Inn, and it has been for some time as it seems. The room was by FAR the nastiest and most unclean I have stayed in for some time. It is obvious that management does not leave the front office and check out what the housekeeping staff is not doing. The room had not been vacuumed, the bathroom floor had not been mopped or swept, all evidenced by various trash on the floor. Some sort of brown stuff was on the door to leave the room. The carpet was stained terribly by the bathroom sink. The shower had some sort of red snot stuck to the wall and the shower curtain was stained where you open and close it. No surfaces were wiped down, evidenced by the previous tenants key still on the night stand. The coffee machine had dried coffee on it. The sheets were clean, however when I woke up in the morning, the comforter that they were covering had BLOOD spots on it. There is NO REASON that a room is ever in such a state. This is one of the sorriest excuses for a room I have stayed in for a long time. No communications back regarding all these issues from management, but tons of emails before I got there.

Fine for one night. It either used to be or still is a Rodeway Inn. Quiet, residential area. Nothing within walking distance. The bed was clean and comfortable but everything else was a bit ratty. Perfectly fine for the price.

Older 2 story motel in quite area. Cleaning crew needs some work, but overall worth the money.

We have stayed at the Benchmark many times and will again. Though dated it has a great staff and is usually very clean. But not this time. The staff was wonderful. But our room had trash on the floor, stains in the carpet, and hair in the shower. Not what we’ve come to expect. We told the desk clerk at checkout, and he assured us that he would communicate our concerns. We haven’t given up on Benchmark and will give it s as another chance.

The hotel was nice. Service was good. We had an issue with the hot water. No pressure, but it was fixed the same day. A pipe had broken. The only issue and it's happening with lots of hotel was that they're not cleaning everyday. However, they would give you clean towels and pick up the trash. Great location. I would stay again.
