Hotel Petra

We stayed for two nights in the Petra hotel during a two week tour of Alsace and the Black Forest. The hotel was clean and well presented and in a your location to explore the local area. I must say that the friendliness of the staff and the advice given was first rate. The young man at the reception desk was courteous and humorous and made us feel at home in the hotel. It is important to know that the hotel issued us with tourist travel cards that we could use to get free local public transport in the Black Forest area. This is an excellent service that allowed us to take a trip to two neighbouring towns without worrying about buying the right tickets, having the right money etc. etc. I recommend the hotel for the location, the travel card and the excellent service from all of the staff, especially the guy at reception.

M-F stay. Staff was very kind and helpful. Good English and an easy check in. If you are coming as a tourist, they give you the Gäste Karte for easy public transport. Close walk from the baiersbronn bf, and right next to a bus station. Very close to hiking. Grocery store, bakery, and a few restaurants are nearby. We had one of the slightly larger double rooms, with a private balcony facing the garden. Clean, well made up, comfy bed, electric kettle with instant coffee and teas, mini fridge (which they stock up with a couple local sodas, water, and one day, beer.). We didn't have an issue hearing other guests, other than the room next to us unlocking their door (older heavy duty locks). Cons: a busy road can be heard nearby during the day, but we were gone most of the time, so it didn't bother us, but mentioning in case someone is looking for a very quiet, remote place. No air conditioning, but that is very typical for older German buildings. It is cool enough during the day and night to simply have your windows open or cracked. Wifi would sometimes cut in and out, but I was still able to stream videos and take one of my online classes with little lagging. I highly recommend Hotel Petra for the value and kind owners! If you are looking for a clean,cozy place to relax and sleep after a day of hiking or exploring, this is great. They also serve breakfast.

I stayed here with some work colleagues for 3 nights. We arrived late on the first night but this was not a problem with the hotel who gave full details of who to contact on arrival. After a long day at work, I felt like having a quick nap! 12 hours later and fully refreshed. A really comfortable bed and en-suite facilities. Well stocked breakfast and nice to have complementary drinks in the room. Well worth a stay.

Having the extra goodies and a stocked mini bar was s huge plus! Others may complain there was only one of each item, but how much can two people consume? We thought Hotel Petra was wonderful!

We got to the hotel late in the evening. We received a very warm welcome from the host who was very friendly. The hotel was very clean and rooms nice and spacious. There was not triple room available so the host happily gave us a second room for the same price. The complimentary fruit and cookies tray as well as drinks in the refrigirator were very nice and much appreciated. Overall service was excellent and I would recommend this hotel.

Sehr nettes Personal. Beim Einchecken wurde uns ein Wanderführer kostenfrei zur Verfügung gestellt.Die Zimmer sind hell und geräumig und der Kühlschrank wird jeden Tag mit Getränken kostenfrei bestückt.Das Frühstück wird serviert um die Coronaregeln einzuhalten.Baiersbronn ist ein echtes Wandervergnügen.Wir haben tolle Natur erleben dürfen.Das tolle beim Wandern ,man kann immer sehen in welchen Orten ein Bus oder Die S Bahn fährt,mit welcher man per Gäste-und Kurkarte im gesamten Schwarzwald freie Fahrt hat

Im Dach war es etwas schwierig sich in der sehr kleinen Dusche zu duschen.
