The Queens Hotel

Nice & traditional/Art decor. Lovely chandeliers. Staff attentive & great cocktails, happy hour 5-7!!

It’s good for the price I paid (two nights for two people with breakfast included 105£). But I won’t pay more. The best thing of the hotel is the staff that is extremely friendly and helpful. But my room was not good. The curtains were dirty such as the harm chair and the mirrors. The carpet needs a deeply washing and the quality of the English breakfast is less than the quality you can have in a waterspoon pub.

The lady who served me in the queen’s bar was great and couldn’t do enough for me. The food was excellent even though a little expensive.

The decor in the Foyer was pretty. Breakfast was good. Covid guidelines were being followed and we felt safe. Location is great right at the railway station and centre of town. We didn’t hear any trains or town noise. Rooms a little dated but clean and just what you’d expect considering the age of the hotel. Would return

Stayed at the Queens a few times but not for a few years ts starting to look tired and in need of a bit of TLC. Would like to continue to stay here because of its history and character but the newer more modern hotels and apartments are a step up I’m afraid. We were upgraded to a superior from from a standard room and there was nothing really superior about the room - it was comfortable with a large bed that’s all I could say - however the standard of cleanliness was not great - there was a lot of dust on the carpet by the furniture as though the maid only vacuumed the centre of the floor - we reported this to reception and they sent someone up quickly to spruce it up and it looked better when we returned. Breakfast was good considering the restrictions due to Covid 19 - for the price we paid it was a good stay but not exceptional as previous stays have been.

Location was great and staff were lovely. The Hotel is beautiful but tired. The mattress in our room was very uncomfortable. The Hotel could do with a refit .

Rooms are very tired Security at door behave like bouncers asking fir room key before being let in. Hardly very welcoming

Initial first impressions were good but disappointed (and woken up) by loud drunken parties outside my room and vomiting in the corridor. Very disappointed and not what I expected from this hotel. If you want a good night’s sleep, look elsewhere.
