"It's just ALL bad...."
I wish I "rode away" from the Rodeway. Don't be fooled by the photos, this place is FILTHY, bug ridden & unsavory. The location is not cute but the parking lot is lit enough to put you in a bit of ease that your car might still be there in the morning. The blanket in my room (that appeared to have originally been a light tan / off white color) was […] soooooo dirty & disgusting! It had footprints right on top like someone walked all over it with after it was made plus burn holes & other questionable stains on it. I threw it off the bed leaving me only with a sheet to sleep in. A used condom behind the nightstand was a nice touch. There were huge black stains all over the carpet & furniture upholstery, several of the light bulbs were just missing along with the batteries from the remote control. ???? Oh and the my personal favorite....USED TOWELS REFOLDED ready for you to re-use again. The hand towel by the sink had brown crusty smears that I luckily saw in the reflection in the mirror before I was about to use it! The parts of my body where my skin was exposed was itching and I have numerous little bites on my legs so I'm thinking of dumping everything I had with me into a bag & bug bombing it before taking it in the house. House keeping must have other priorities because they even over looked what appeared to be residue from someone who used the huge mirror above the desk to rail up drug lines. Had it not been so late when I checked in, I would have tried to make other arrangements. Yes, you get what you pay for BUT if I paid a decent amount where you would expect a little more. When I asked the woman who checked me about the room with the hot tub she said it wasn't available (I guess there is only 1?) and they are trying to charge a 5 star rate! I'm skeptical as to whether or not it even exists or if it's on the photos to trick you into thinking it's not a total dump. THIS PLACE CRAP. DON'T STAY HERE. Sleep in the car if you have to. This is a very nice motel. It is within walking distance of the Oakland Coliseum (a little over a mile). The area is an old industrial area. But the hotel is newer, comfortable and very clean. I will go again whenever we make it out to a Raider game!

At first u wonder if ur in the right spot because of all the industrial buildings but once u find it...it is very pleasant to see. Room was clean n service was nice. The hotel is close by to everything even a Super Wlamart. All in all I had a good stay and I would recommend it anyone.

The room was very nice and clean. It has all you need--a microwave, complementary internet, a refrigerator, and complementary breakfast. The room was fine however the light at the vanity next to the restroom was on a sensor .Everytime I walked close to it the light would come on then would go off when I stepped away.This was so annoying ! I asked the front desk to fix it but was told this could not be fixed.

When we checked in they took my credit card number in case of damage to the room I felt untrusted with the room. #2 we took our own towels and they took them from the room. In the next morning no cafe in the room. #3 The half of the stay SUCKED!!!!!!

Appearance of hotel was nice, likely renovated very recently. Staff was reasonably nice. Room had some hairs and fuzz on the blankets, but that was the only problem. "Clean, Cheap Oakland Hotel"
I had an early morning interview in San Leandro and wanted to avoid the morning commute from Sacramento. For the price the hotel worked perfectly. It is in a rough part of Oakland just down the street from the Coliseum. It is well protected from the area, in fact, it is a little hard to get to. We enjoyed our stay @ the Rodeway Inn. The place was super clean! The staff were friendly cool peoples. They were even nice enough to let us check in early because we were on our way to a Raiders game...which by the way was a short walk to the Coliseum. Not much surrounding the Inn itself, but if you make a left or right you'll find something quick […] (stores, places to eat, etc). The frig & microwave actually came in handy. "A hotel for Raider fans!"
Wanted hotel close to the Colliseum, reasonably priced and fairly safe. Read all the reviews, and booked. I have to say the hotel exceeded our expectations. First, the desk clerk was so helpful. Then, the room was beautifully done. Fresh paint, a fridge and microwave, exceptionally clean bathroom and surrounding areas. Bed was comfortable and clean. […] I loved the roses and landscaping, nice touch. The only bad thing was the location. We walked to our game to save the $35.00 parking fee, which wasn't a bad walk in the daylight. Coming back at twilight, DO NOT RECCOMMEND! It is an odd area for a hotel. No eateries or stores, but still, they will let you park there to go to the game free even after checkout and that was a big plus with us. We will definately book there the next Raider game we go to! "2nd time not a charm"
I stayed at this hotel a couple months ago and was very pleased with the cleanliness and comfort of the room. I was very disburbed that only a few months later, the carpet was very dirty, an upholstered chair in the room looked like it had pet stains all over it and the bathroom was dirty. Stayed here for 5 nights, it was better than camping. The passing noise of the freeway was constant. The brekfast was basic, and only has six chairs in a small room for people to eat. The electric kept on tripping off if you used the microwave & toasted at the same time. It was basic.......

"Nice clean little hotel, rotten location"
Seems like it sits "on" the freeway it's so close. Can barely have a conversation outside from the noise. And it's too bad as it's a nice clean little place. Would definately be a wise decision to book one of the rooms that are by the office which are a little further from the freeway, may be a little more quiet. The surrounding areas are quite scary […] at night and I wouldn't recommend leaving the hotel area on foot. There is even a security system to get into the office, must ring a bell to be let in. "Basic and expected"
The hotel was well kept and the staff was nice. The room overall looked good however one of the pillow cases had some dirt stains, whether it was clean and just stained or dirty I'm not sure. Also the shower curtain was pretty disgusting. Everything else was very clean. Stayed two nights and the maid cleaned the room nicely. "Very satisfied"

Overall I was ok with the place considering the price. The room was nice and the hotels is well maintained. The only 2 issues I had were the odor in the room- It smelled like sweat and the very limited breakfast. There wasn't much there but again, for the price overall it was not bad.

This hotel is located in an industrial area right off of 880. The area is grey and urban, but then drive into the parking lot of the Rodeway Inn. You will see impeccably clean and attractive paint and "Disneyland" type turf with rose bushes combo. The staff is very polite and pleasant. The room was very clean and comfortable. I'd much rather have a […] quality, washable blanket on my bed than an 30 year old icky bedspread. There was a good hairdryer and coffee maker and a decent breakfast offering. This hotel was great. I was a little unsure due to its pricing, but its pricing, affordable, didn't reflect the quality of the hotel at all. The room was in great shape, and actually seemed to be fairly new. A microwave, a fridge, anything you could need, as well as an unexpectedly comfortable bed, better than most i've stayed in! "Remodeled but dirty"
The rooms are remodeled and look nice. The RCA TV in my room had a problem with the picture tube where everything shown was orange in color. They replaced it the next day with another old-style TV (Zenith) with the same bizarre color issue occurred (but to a lesser degree). The reason I gave these folks a low score was because of basic cleaniless issues. […] Inside the shower, there was a huge glob of toothpaste spit onto the wall above the shower nozzle. I wiped it off with some toilet paper and figured that the cleaning people just missed it. Then, when I opened the stepping towel and placed it in front of the shower, the towel had a huge black footprint in the middle of the towel. In addition, they DO NOT vacuum the carpets nor clean the tile floors in the bathroom/wash sink area. I took the towel to the office to ask for a new one and the Indian gentleman who buzzed me in was barefoot and had large feet. Coincidence? I also told him about the floor and he said that he would clean it. Anyhow, the next evening, the floors were not cleaned. In addition, when I open a bath towel after taking a shower, there were dark fingerprints on one towel and a large 4 inch blueish spot of Windex on the hand towel (that smelled like Windex). I took the dirty bath towel, dappened it, and washed the tile floor for him. Needless to say, the large bath towel became completely black after I wiped down 25 sq. ft of tile. It seems a shame that such so much money was spent on a remodel and the franchisee is basically running it into the ground. Still, toilet was clogged after using it two times; noise was immense. Location is horrid. Cannot go out of your room without a car.

The hotel itself is very nice. The room and bathroom were clean, and it had decent amenities. However, the surrounding area was AWFUL! Not a good neighborhood by any means. The price was good for the room, and it was extremely convenient for hopping on the freeway and heading into San Francisco, so for me the convenience outweighed the risk.
The hotel itself looked newly remodeled and the staff was friendly. There was a small free breakfast and they have an extensive tv selection. However, I would not go out to the neighborhood on foot and there are no close restaurants. I thought for the price the motel was good tho.

A good two-star motel experience. Free internet, free parking, a reasonable price, clean, a fridge - I can't complain. The neighborhood is industrial, nothing nearby that might be menacing - or interesting. Good freeway access. Can't comment about the shuttle, didn't use it.

I had my fears about this place. I took my partner for her birthday and I was pleasantly surprised to find that everything about the place was great! The room was really clean and nice. Good: Newly renovated room in a very nice condition. Ok location, if you're looking to stay right off the highway or close to the Coliseum (like we di)d Bad: Bathroom had hair in the bathtub and pee stains on the floor. The neighbourhood is quite scary and seems unsafe: even the hotel reception keeps doors always locked.
