It was a very short stay for us but we loved it! Aside from the absence of the elevator to bring your stuff to the second floor, everything was great! The location of the hotel is terrific as it is very close to the main night life scene of the city. Complementary breakfast was very good and super handy!

We stayed Two separate nights Feb.2&6 in two separate main floor rooms.This was our Amtrack stopover to and from the Winter Carnival in Quebeck.Both rooms were clean and charming with high crown moulded ceilings,comfortable beds and plenty of room.Staff was friendly ,helpful and personable.We had no car, but taxi stand was only 50 ft. down the street.University […] area, so lots of places to eat within walking distance.We will have no problem staying there again,but note this is an older hotel with no elevator... My kids loved the room and the overall decor. The room and the shower were clean. I had no hesitation taking a shower and using the towels.

My boyfriend and I stayed at the Manoir Ambrose during the second week of January. Neither one of us had ever been to Montreal, and as we are both students in our late twenties, we were looking for something affordable but also charming, and also a place that made access to the rest of the city easy: Manoir Ambrose fits all of those qualifications to […] a tee. We opted for the "classic double" room and although it was small it had everything we needed for our 4 night stay: a desk, a small sitting area with Victorian style chairs, a double bed with a warm and very clean down comforter and pillows, and a small yet clean bathroom with a tub/shower combo. The room was very warm with a new heating element on the wall and we had one window to the outside. Our little room made us feel as though we were really in the "Paris of North America" as many people have nick-named Montreal. Although many reviewers have given the lack of elevator negative remarks, the stairs were not a problem for us at all--based on the reviews we were expecting a tower of stairs up to the third floor (where our room was) but they were very moderate victorian stairs with maybe only 20 steps for each level--not bad at all. Finally, the Manoir Ambrose has truly captured and maintained a lot of the beauty of its old Victorian past--all of the moldings are gorgeous and the breakfast area is bright and cheery and well-appointed with a selection of foods to please even the pickiest of eaters. The concierge staff was friendly and warm and even allowed us to eat breakfast when we arrived 15 minutes after the closing hour of 10:30am. We will certainly stay at Manoir Ambrose on all of our return trips to this wonderful city. Ďalšie informácie

The room we stay in was small but there are bigger rooms available. It was right downtown where everything is. The room was clean. The front desk was friendly and I enjoy my stay there. I would definitely recommend a friend to stay there

Manoir Ambrose is an excellent hotel in Downtown Montreal within walking distance of many major attractions, shopping options, public transportation, and restaurants. Nicely decorated, friendly staff, absolutely quiet and comfortable. I surely would stay there if in Montreal again and will recommend this place to anyone.

this place was cute clean and the staff was great. Much more charming than the chain hotes. i will be staying there again.

Great service, very nice and well located. The hotel has no parking but was easy to find a parking garage very close for a reasonable price.

Our stay was brief (one night), but pleasant. The Location is great-- walking distance to Mont Royal, St. Catherine St. and the Old City. Problem arriving by car as -temporarily-construction work taking place on access roads. Hotel has 4 parking places-on line reservations do not ask if parking place needed !( I was fortunate to find free street parking.) Be ready to haul your bag up at least 2 flights of stairs! Pretty good location, but a conversion of 2 old houses leaves some parts of the hotel being pretty nice and some being pretty shabby. Due to a booking snafu, I stayed in 2 different rooms the 2 nights I was there, which meant that I had to haul my bag up and down the stairs repeatedly. This is a great place for access to Crescent Street for nightlife, museums, and shopping in St Catherines. Nice and quiet with a good plentiful breakfast.

Close to all downtown shopping, museum, Mount Royal, McGill etc. Helpfull, friendly staff. Great, very quiet room.

I was here for two nights and had a nice, quiet stay. This appears to be a conversion from apartments or other housing. My room was reasonably large and the bathroom had a full shower/tub. Everything was clean and white. You must be able to climb stairs to stay here; a flight to get in the front door, another one or two to get to your room. Staff goes […] home at night and you’re given a key to the front door. Breakfast was continental: Several breads, a few fruits, yogurt, hard cooked eggs, coffee, juice. It was pleasent feeling to be home in another country where every one is doing his best to help you get the best of the town and direct you to everywhere to have the ultimate expereience during your stay. It was a great hotel for what I needed it for. I was staying in Montreal for one night to see a concert. Very close to Peel Metro Station, approximately 2-3 minutes walking. The check-in DOES NOT start at 7:30 as advertised on the site, it starts at 3:00. The lady at the front desk was accommodating, the best she could do was let me check in at 1, she […] even allowed me to leave my bag at the hotel, locked up, while I explored Montreal for a few hours (I was there at 9) and was checked in promptly at 1:00. If you have issues with mobility avoid this hotel as there are no elevators. Also, the breakfast isn't laid out until around 7:30 AM which may be a problem if you leave early in the morning. Breakfast is simple yet good enough, with Boiled Eggs, croissants, fruit and toast. Room was comfortable enough for the short time I was there. Ďalšie informácie

Stayed for two nights in a small room for a good price. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Bathroom was cramped but servicable. Biggest drawback was broken shower door and lack of closet which forced us to share the small room with all of our luggage. No pudimos ducharnos debido al atasco en las tuberías, nos comentan que el gerente se pondría en contacto conmigo y no ha sido así. Caro, habitaciones con moqueta muy sucia y olor a revenido, muy viejo, suelo desnivelado por la antigüedad del inmueble. No existe ascensor, laberinto de escaleras. No recomendable en absoluto.

C'est une très belle petite auberge! L'accueil est très chaleureuse et le déjeuner compris est parfait! Par contre, quelques rénovations devraient être faits et il n'y a pas de stationnement. Bref, l'auberge est très bien et pas chère.

Två stjärnigt hotel som borde ha tre. Mitt i downtown, ofixat charmigt och bra för pengarna. Väldigt hjälpsam personal och bra service. Perfekt som utgångspunkt för att upptäcka staden. Pour ce qui est de l'hotel, belle architecture (magnifique), tres bel accueil chaleureux et personnel souriant. Petit hic, les frais de stationnement ne sont pas inclus dans le prix de la chambre il faut donc y prévoir 15$ de plus au prix de la chambre.
