Belaire Suites - Durban

Breakfast room is small and service i must say is poor, rather give the guest the option of taking out their own food from the warmers instead of doing it for them, this is very uncomfortable aswell. also please get more staff to take special breafast orders at the tables and make sure it is their within a reasonable time. i had to to wait 30 minutes […] to get two medium done eggs and everyone who ordered much larger orders after me got their orders before me. the service i must say really does need some attention. also please book beach towels against the room number instead of taking a deposit, this is very inconvenient. Prior to arriving in Durban we were strongly warned against staying near to the city centre. The Belaire is situated in a stunning position right next to the beach on the 'Golden Mile'. This newly pedestrianised promanade area passes directly in front of the hotel and has large numbers of people running by and exercising throughout the day - which was […] great to see. The position could not have been better! By day, the area felt very safe indeed, we just recommend people stay inside the hotel after dusk. The hotel has an excellent restaurant, reasonably priced and the daily tariff also includes a very good buffet-style breakfast (cooked breakfast could have been a little warmer!) Our room was extremely clean and included a kitchenette area with fridge and micowave - no crockery, but as we always have a few paper plates with us it was not a problem. The ensuite was spacious and clean. We felt the Belaire was excellent value for money, the staff were most friendly and helpful and the position of the hotel on the 'Golden Mile' gave a delightful walking area with very easy access to the beach. It was less than a 10 minute walk to the terminus of the 'Red Bus' tour of Durban or to the large casino complex. Parking can be limited, we were able to park in the rear gated car-park (additional R45/night). Alternative parking is available on the road directly outside the hotel. Driving from the hotel to the new King Shaka International Airport in North Durban couldn't have been easier from this location. We would not hesitate to visit again. Ďalšie informácie

I wanted to spend two nights there and the price on the front desk was a certain price per night but the price on hotels.com was a better deal for two nights. So I booked the rooms online while in their lobby, staff was very understanding. Ocean view was outstanding and so was the breakfast. I am going back there soon.

I was not charged parking on checkin and had a problem on the second day of my stay, overall I loved the convienience of being there.

Belaire was a great place to stay. The staff was polite and helpful, the room was clean and comfortable, the location and value was great.

We experienced an excellent 2 day stay. Everything was very good and the breakfasts especially were mentionable. The best part was in the restaurant - outstanding food!

The toilet seat broke the moment we got into our room. The Airconditioner made such a din that we could not use this.

Being from Durban originally we were uncertain about this location as it had a reputation for being less safe. Well - the central Durban beachfont certainly has transformed! The hotel is a converted apartment block meaning we had a massive studio apartment for a room with windows opening onto the ocean. The area was relatively safe and the staff friendly. […] There is a lovely cafe serving speciality coffees downstairs. The buffet breakfast in the zen garden was a delight every day. Getting a secure hotel parking space was a bit of an issue during busy times but we parked our rental in front on the street which was fine. This was my second time that I booked at this hotel and once again was very satisfied with the accomodation and the location of this hotel. The rooms were very clean and spacious. I do have a very big problem with the front desk staff. They are very rude and would continueously give excuses instead of listining to the client. The breakfast area is also […] very small and cramped. They clearly cannot cope in peak periods. However the staff were trying their level best to help but it was just not enough. We liked the hotel and the location. What we found is that ,because it was full, it was difficult for the staff to keep up with certain things. Although the room was supposed to have a table and chairs, these were not there when we arrived and nobody attempted to bring them to us. It felt that were taken for other room and that was it. There were also […] no shampoos and conditioners in the room when we arrived. Breakfast were good and tasty. The fact that the hotel doesn't have enough parking space (and we were not informed when we booked) made us quite nervous, but we didn't have a problem. The reception staff were friendly but not very informative on our arrival at Belaire. There was no one to help with baggage and they forgot to mention the free accessible parking bay at the back of the hotel. The room was clean, airy, spacious and had more than expected for the price. A very wlecome air-conditioning system to escape the Durban humidity, […] a pretty glass door shower, roomy bathroom and a surprise: a handy little kitchenette with kettle, fridge and micro. Incredible location and amazing food available from the local cafe, Cafe Jiran, downstairs. Two bits of advice: Get to breakfast early as the 09h00 rush and cramped dining area was unbearable and don't sit on the pavement at Cafe Jiran, unless you want to be harassed by beggars. The hotel is really beautiful. It exceedded my expectations especially when considering the rate offered. The room was very nice, clean and fresh. I like the distance away from the busy beach front. The towels are newer than the four star hotels I know. I liked this. The elevators were working fine, ho hassles at all. The breakfast was great and met […] the normal standards of a hotel of this caliber. The shower needs to be unclogged. That's all. I liked it! I never knew that Belaire Suites existed. I could not get accommodation anywhere else and happened to come across Belaire Suites while browsing the internet. From check in, staying and check out was wonderful. Very clean, tidy building and rooms. Service was excellent. Staff was warm and very friendly. What a great place to stay with a beautiful view and very friendly and helpful staff. We enjoyed every second of our stay and will definitely go back there again. This hotel offers great value for money, and is very central - close to all main amenities. I will recommend to anyone who needs a comfortable stay wheather it is business or holiday.

The hotel is very close to beach. The room can be a bit noisy due to a connecting door to the other room, which of course is locked. The room was clean and the breakfast was extremely good.
