From the time we asked for directions to the hotel (our GPS didnt show that. The coordinates in the database is incorrect, so check that first!) to the time we checked out, the service was bordering on rude. We could safely say, there was no service. The receptionist made us wait until he had finished throwing pens into a container before greeting us. […] There were no luggage carts available at that time and no effort expended to find us one. We were told that people leave them in their rooms and dont return them! We had a large amount of luggage, but no help was forthcoming.In the evening,we were the only three people ordering food at the bar and they still managed to mix up our food order. The food was not particularly pleasant, with the salmon dry and the sauce being very salty (couldnt eat it). The barman told us that others had complained about it, but the chef obviously never eats his own food. We hope this is a one time occurrance. The quality of the rooms was excellent, and the property is very nice generally.We wont be back. We prefer to stay in Hampton Inns, even though they have no restaurant. No probelms with the hotel itself and the staff and their service but on checking in on December 29th 2012 we were told that, due to low occupancy, the hotel bar and (very heavily promoted) restaurant were closed for the week. This was really disappointing as it meant we had to eat out of the hotel for the 6 nights we stayed - and we were given no advance […] notice. Not something expected from a Hilton hotel. We were given vouchers for breakfast but that didn't compensate since we didn't use them all as we'd never planned on breakfasts in anyway. The hotel over all is pretty great for the price, a few of the smaller details could have been better such as there being clean towels in the pool area, etc. Over all the room was a decent size, the bed was comfortable, and the staff was more than helpful. "Great for the family"
We stayed for the weekend. Myself, husband, 7 year old and 3 adult children. We were pleased all around. The breakfast is partially complimentary, but if you choose to have waffles, eggs, meats, etc.... it is worth it. The chef is awesome. Very good and we will stay there again. We are hesitant about hotels that do not have adequate a/c in the rooms. […] This one is a keeper. We loved our weekend stay. We have smokers in our group and there was a nice private patio with comfortable seating. And it was not a cast out type area. It was nice. "Poor HVAC Control"
The HVAC controls were not obvious the first night we were there. We arrived late and then tried to control the blower at the unit. It looked like a wall unit and had visible controls so I tried to control it there. The controls at the unit were, of course, ineffective and I was miserable the whole night because it was too cold. I got up a couple of […] times to adjusts the controls at the unit but to no effect. I didn't want to get on the phone to the front desk because it would wake my wife. I kept waiting for my adjustments to the controls to have some effect. In the morning, I finally saw the controller on the opposite wall. However, we were only there for one night so I had no opportunity to try the room using the proper controls. The blower on the wall should have had some indication that the real controls were on the opposite wall. Although it was kind of a stupid mistake in hindsight, it still resulted in me having a very miserable night. And the sign at the front desk did say "satisfaction guaranteed." the hotel was nice in appearance and was very accessible to nasa/kemah boardwalk and all kinds of dining. the room was clean, but was never cleaned in the 3 days we stayed. "A wonderful stay for our family!"
Our stay at the Hilton Garden Inn was wonderful. The staff was very friendly from the moment we checked in until the day we checked out 4 days later. We were always greeted in a friendly manner when we returned to the hotel from our day of adventure. Our room was clean and quiet. The beds were comfortable and clean as well.
