We LOVED the location and size of the rooms. The carpets were NOT clean, yikes! Their was a queen and full bed. I like firm beds and used lots of pillows, but my husband thought the queen bed was like sleeping on the floor..he could not sleep. They are a low-budget hotel with a kitchinette. The staff was nice, but overall I don't think I would stay there again for a few reasons: 1) walls are paper thin 2) breakfast is at a sister hotel, which you have to walk to, and mediocre food. 3) TV is small and doesn't work so easily. 4) Staff closes office from 9pm-8am, so trying to call the front […] desk won't happen until they are back. 5) We found someone else's hair in the bathtub (a large one attached to the curtain). 6) no hairdryer in room. I enjoyed my stay at Handy Extended Suites, the rooms were very clean and very well maintained. It was very quiet, and I would reccomend this Hotel to everyone. The receptionist is very helpful, and cheerful, and that makes the stay comfortable as well! Thank-You, Handy's!!

The hotel looks much better on the outside. The room was old, the bed hard, the sink was the smallest sink i have ever seen, no bath tub, although the water pressure was great. The hotel was out of the 1950s. People staying there were grilling food out of the back of their moving truck. I wanted to run.
"Handy's Extended-not the best choice in the area"
I've travelled frequently over the past year, and used Hotels.com to pick almost all of my hotels, and they rarely steer me wrong. This was the exception. The photos make it seem decent, but the place isn't comfortable or welcoming by any means. The layout was awkward, everything in the room desperately needed to be replaced/refurbished. Even the towels […] were old and dirty! Also, it took a half hour for the woman to answer the front desk, apparently because the hotel clerk doubles as the maintainence person on site. "Last room at the inn"
This was an expensive disappointment. We were in a room they claim as a efficiency suite and trend into more of a closet with a bathroom. We were to have a queen size Bed and all there was was a full size bed tat was lumpy. The rest of the room was they same, furniture was left overs from other locations and along side of an elevator that ran continuously. […] We had to request a tabletop lamp. "Cheap but not clean"
Though the room--and supposedly all rooms--was supposed to be non-smoking, it was evident from the curtains, furniture and carpetting that the previous resident or residents were accustomed to smoking in the room. Also, the floors had not been vacuumed prior to our stay, nor were they vacuumed during our stay. The breakfast (at the Days Inn next door) […] was just adequate: cold cereals, toast (although the toaster barely warmed the bread), waffles, fruit (oranges and bananas), juice from a machine. This worked well for us for reunion weekend, just across from campus and the events going on there. Full kitchen was great for breakfast and fridge keeps the beer and wine chilled.

I didn't expect much here and there wasn't much there. I especially didn't care for how hot the room was and how weak the AC was. The beeping smoke detector at 4 am certainly didn't help my view of the place. I would have complained before I left but there was no one at the desk.

Hotel is retro but clean and besides it faces the campus of St Mike's. Cross the street and you're there. No hassles with parking on event days. What more do you need?

Comfortable room, had extra conveniences of a basic kitchen, including stove and microwave, some dishes. Very convenient to Burlington Airport (because of special directions given by staff). I would certainly stay there again.

The room was very nice, complete with separate bedroom and full kitchen. Everything was in good working order. Continental breakfast was available at the Days Inn, just down the road. It was a real bargain for the price, and located only a couple of miles from downtown Burlington. Some of the other guests at the hotel, however, were a bit "unusual". […] The room at the end of the hall had it's door open at 9:30pm with the smells of very spicy food coming from within and permeating the entire 3rd floor. Large room with cooking facilities but quite worn. Blind broken, drawer missing from the chest, handle broken on another. Car park littered with cigarette butts. Easy to find but in need of attention. Breakfast OK - but two doors down at the Days Inn!

"In Need of Remodel"
When I arrived the outside of the building looked old and worn out. However I was willing to forgot that part and see what happened when I went inside. The employee was very nice and made the check in good. But that is where it stopped. Took the elevator up to the third floor and it sounded as if the cables were going to break. Be advised I did not […] use the elevator after that. Once in the room I first noticed that the floor was dirty. I then went into the living room and to my shock the chairs and couch were dirty and stained. During my visit I was afraid to sit in any of them. The bed was comfortable, however after the living room I checked to make sure the sheets were cleaned. This place is co-owned by Days Inn. We reserved this room for one night so we could attend the champlain valley expo.The hotel was convienent to both the interstate and expo.The only complaint was we reserved a queen but were put in a double.Kind of a cramped night of sleep.Otherwise it was a fine one night stay

After a long night of travel, this hotel was not exactly a warm place to rest my head. I was afraid to touch anything in the room because it just seemed dirty.

Not only was this the cheapest hotel withon a 25 mile radius, the condition was excellent, the staff friendly, and the location convenient.

The room was clean and spacious. Nothing fancy or plush, but larger than I anticipated it would be. Queen bed, fully equipped kitchen with MW, stove, and fridge. My room was on the third floor but they have a nice large elevator that was easy to get to. No problems at all. Nice place to stay and I will stay there again next time I am in Burlington.

Handy's Suites has 2 locations. I recommend the one on Susie Wilson Rd. The knowledgeable Manager went the extra mile to make sure everything went smoothly. (Only one issue: Gym equipment was out of order.)

"Decent Hotel"
This was a good hotel for what we needed it for. We spent one night in Burlington before going to New Hampshire for the Kancamagus and other things in Maine so we just needed this place for one night. I'm not sure if this woudl be the place I'd stay for an extended vacation, though.
"More an apartment than a hotel room"
My husband and I planned an extended vacation in the Burlington area. We wanted three things: to keep the costs down, a good night's sleep, and some way to avoid eating restaurant food 3x a day for a week. Handy's in Colchester, VT, fit the bill completely. The location was so convenient for launching day trips to Burlington and other locations in […] VT. The manager let us store our bicycles in our room when we weren't using them. Staff was very responsive to specific needs, but was mostly invisible - changing our linens twice a week and our garbage every day. This was more like an apartment than a hotel room and did we appreciate the heavy windows that kept out the street noise at night. There was night construction on the roads nearby, but with the windows closed, the air conditioning on, we slept right through it. We brought our own travel coffee pot - there wasn't one in the room (perhaps because we were able to use the Day's Inn two doors down for breakfast as well as swim in their indoor pool). There was enough cookware, silverware and dinnerware to get us through any meal we wanted to make (plus stove, oven and microwave). Because of its great location (right off I-89), we were able to head out in the morning for sightseeing, come back for lunch and then head out again in the afternoon. And packing a lunch for all-day bike trips was made much easier by having a full kitchen and refrigerator. This was one of the best, most relaxing, vacations we've ever had. If you don't need hotel amenities and catering, if you want a place that's more like an apartment, then I highly recommend Handy's in Colchester, VT. Ďalšie informácie
"Amazing time for our 1-Year anniversary."
I admit we were a little hesitant in staying at Handy's because the rate vs. the description of the apartment sounded too much to be true. But, seeing as we make a great team my girlfriend and I knew we could make anything work. What an incredible and magical weekend.
