Kinkell House - Inverness

Lovely staff and great breakfast. There was a funny smell in the hallways though and the bed was the most uncomfortable thing and had a terrible bed head that rattled every time you moved slightly. Needs some refurbishment. Think could find better places to stay in Inverness for the money.

Excellent guest house. Close to Inverness, can walk downtown to resturaunts and shopping, easy to find with excellent service.

I was pleased to stay in the guest house. The location is just a few block away from the center area. The room was with en suite bathroom. The room itself a little bit small but adequate for my needs. There was some noice coming from the street and the chilly air from outside could be felt inside (the windows were not that well insulated). The breakfast […] was nice - you could mark in the list what you want for breakfast the previous night and there was a table set for you in the morning. The Kinkell house was extremely convenient in location and the owner was very sweet. Accommodations were decent if you're not too picky. The house needs renovations and a thorough cleaning....I only stayed for one night so it wasn't the end of the world. Good breakfast in the morning anyway!

My wife and I stayed at the Kinkell House-Guest House for seven nights from 11th -18th June 2011 and were very satisfied. The house is about 15 minutes walk from the centre of Inverness and only a short distance from the River Ness, There is a very good Real Ale pub called The Castle Tavern about 5 minutes walk away. The good points about Kinkell House are the location (2 mins from Inverness Castle) and the ambience / decor (traditional looking Scottish B&B). However there are a few negative points which do detract somewhat. Bedroom (we stayed in room 5) - the bed was quite uncomfortable and was lumpy and the springs could be felt. Also, the bathroom was not ensuite […] (although it was private for our use only). I honestly can't remember if this was specified at the time of booking, but think this would benefit from being upgraded. Although generally clean there was a dead insect in the shower, which had been there a while by the looks of it. Breakfast was pretty average, and the person serving breakfast did not speak a single word to us during the whole meal! Service during check out was also pretty poor. The initial welcome was fine, but the unsmiling, teenager who served breakfast did not inspire a pleasurable atmosphere despite the pleasant surroundings. She put a damper on our stay!

Generally acceptable, but no chairs in bedroom meant watching TV while sitting/lying on bed

Walking Distance from city centre, Guest parking, friendly service& excellent breakfast!

This bed and breakfast was fine, but nothing special. It does have private parking and is well situated which is good, but other than that was pleasant, but average.

The air condition was almost out of working, I was feel very cold. And the breakfast time is just only between 8am-9am, too short duration.

Lovely breakfast but waitress didn't know how to speak or smile. We couldn't watch television in our room as the control had disappeared and we weren't told there was a guest lounge. Wont be staying there again.

Nice Bed & Breakfast with typical bristish environment/decoration. Very clean and quality.

This guest house was in a convenient location close to the town centre and all places of interest. The owners were friendly and helpful and the rooms very clean and comfortable. Good for the price range.

Huset er ikke så familiært, som forventet - det er et ret stort hus med gulvtæpper etc i sædvanlig engelsk stil, men det er lidt kommercielt. God morgenmad Det ligger godt i forhold til byen! Sengen er ikke af den bedste kvalitet.

Ein wirklich rustikal eingerichtetes Hotel, doch irgendwie nett. Das Bett war zwar eine Katastrophe (Matratze viel zu weich und man mei´nte das Bett bricht gleich auseinander), doch ansonsten kann man den Aufenthalt dort bedenkenlos empfehlen. Sehr nette Gastgeber und klasse Frühstück!

Hotel situado lejos de Fort William ,y no quedaba muy clara esa apreciación en la reserva. Habíamos reservado habitación explicitamente para una pareja y 2 niños , y no estaba preparada para ello.Tampoco bien facturada. Escogimos hotel y no B&B ésa noche pues por la mañana necesitábamos levantarnos muy pronto para trasladarnos al Ferry de Mallaig .En […] éste hotel no hay empleados en toda la nosche hasta las 7,30 , por lo tanto no tendríamos desayuno disponible , ya pagado.Al final, despues de nuestras quejas , nos arreglaron un poquito el precio. Muy recomendable este bed&breakfast la señora muy amable, su ingles se entiende bien y la casa esta llena de detallitos en la decoracion que la hacen muy interesante. Habitacion amplia, baño muy adecuado y las camas muy comodas. La situacion es genial, tan solo a 5 min del centro y se puede aparcar dentro de la casa.

Sehr netter Empfang, riesiges gemütliches Zimmer und gutes Frühstück.

Struttura molto carina sia all'interno che all'esterno.Personale gentilissimo e simpatico. Camera molto accogliente,spazi giusti e molto pulita. Ve lo consiglio. A 2 minuti dal centro.

Das Guesthouse liegt nur ca. 1km entfernt von der Innenstadt. Parkplatz direkt vorm Haus.

Het is een zalig traditioneel Schots huis, eenvoudig en mooi versierd tegelijkertijd. De gastheer was altijd beschikbaar voor vragen. Er lagen heel wat informatiebrochures over de stad aan de inkomhal. Men kon kiezen wat men wou als ontbijt, wanneer en hoe en je had een eigen wc wat wel nieuw en modern was. Perfect gelegen naast andere B&Bs in een straat […] vlakbij het centrum. Doordat je een straat verder moest lopen had je van geen enkel lawaai last. Ďalšie informácie

Maison d'hôtes Bed and brekfast de style quelque peu vieillot mais charmant, située à 500 mètres du centre ville sans en subir les nuisances. Chambre confortable et petit déjeuner très correct. Accueil chaleureux, l'hôtesse a fait l'effort de nous adresser quelques mots en français.

Het hotel was netjes en schoon, de kamers waren klein en het onderhoud van het hotel redelijk. De eigenaresse is hartelijk en leek alle voorkomende werkzaamheden in haar eentje te doen voor de zes kamers.

Et koslig, typisk britisk gjestehus fylt av antikviteter og "nick nacks", rent og pent. Svært vennlig og velorganisert vertinne. Det trakk imidlertid ned å få bad på gangen - det var ikke det vi så for oss da vi bestilte et rom med "private bathroom". Det var riktignok bare vi som brukte det, men likevel er det tungvint å måtte gå via gangen, med ekstra […] nøkkel osv, for å bruke badet. De andre rommene så ut til å ha egne bad. Ellers var det ingenting å utsette på oppholdet. Det er mulighet for parkering inne på gårdsplassen, rett ved inngangsdøren, uten ekstra kostnad. Ďalšie informácie

Accueil nickel. Décor extraordinaire. Raffiné et soigné. Prestation excellente. Seul bémol : le petit déjeuner : chocolat à l'eau (pas au lait) et confitures un peu trop "Anglo-saxonnes"
