University Inn - South Burlington

For the cheap price, I was surprised and quiet satisfied with the whole experience. Had to walk next door for ice, but all in all no bad at all.

It was fine. Hotel served its purpose. For the cheap price it was well worth it! Nothing extraordinary but good stay overall!

Bed was like sleeping on a box spring. TV screen was blown and the colors were a bit funky. All in al it was a pretty shabby room, but it was very quiet, and very affordable.

This is a tired old building that could really use a remodel, but clean and great staff. If you are looking for a cheap place to stay that is close to downtown, look no further. The pool was deceptively deep, so ignore complaints of low water levels, they must not have actually gotten in the pool. Yes it's about a foot below deck edge, but still over […] 6' in deep end. Would not recommend to anyone. Rooms were dirty and smelled as if it was a kennel with cats living in the room. Beds were uncomfortable and sheets were flimsy.

It's not in great shape, but our room was actually clean, large and fairly comfortable. For the price...it's ok for one night. My stay was tainted since while I was there, someone smashed into my car in the parking lot. I came out in the morning to find the bumber and quarter panal of my new car smashed in. No note or anything. Called the police, filed […] a report and drove home. Overall not a good stay due to my car getting smashed...but other than that, it would have been ok. The pool and hot tub were so dirty I wouldn't let my grandson go in. Pool water level was two-three foot down. Room was so-so...I was staying there because my husband was in near by hospital if not for that I would have went to the desk asked for a refund and found anotherhotel.

we were only staying because of a hospital visit, the room could of used a table, hair dryer, coffee pot, just little things to brighten the stay...

Decent rooms for the money, close to all the action, very nice pool...

The service and staff were fantastic, but the overall stay was marred by several negatives. First, the indoor pool temperature was about 65 degrees (way too cold to enjoy). Second, I saw numerous underage teens entering and exiting rooms with alcohol provided by random vehicles driving up in the parking lot. Lastly, there were several areas in the hallway […] where the smell of marijuana smoke would almost give you a contact high. I would not recommend this hotel for people with children. NEEDS INTERNET ACCESS. NOT acceptable to not provide Internet for guest in 2011. Someone please donate a router to these guys...

This hotel has no internet service. There was no heat either.

Just your basic hotel. Nothing fancy, nothing terrible either. The outdoor door did not have a key access.

needs better markers for buildings and registration

Because we traveled with a pet we were consigned to a smoking room and banned from the Comfort Inn side. The University Inn side is badly in need of a makeover - you could hear leaks in the ceiling during rainstorms, there were obvious wear marks and the hallways did have a peculiar smell. However, the shower was the one of the best I have experienced, […] the room was clean and the bed was comfortable. And it was the only reasonably priced room in all of Burlington. The hotel is old and run down from the none functional toilet to the mold on the caulking of the bath tube. They did fix the toilet after a call. the room is large and the location is great given we had to go to the airport early. It is an OK place if you need one night and are just in transit. Nice and clean Quiet !!! I would like to stay next time !!

The entire room was substandard with the following specifics: The dirty stained couch that I didn't even dare to sit upon, the carpet had various stains throughout, the lamp shades had water stains on the semi-transparent covers, the wallpaper was pealing off the wall up high, the thermostat was hanging off the wall, I had to shut off the AC/Heater […] as it was producing some atrocious scent. On a positive note, the bathroom wasn't horrible, the Gideons Bible was as good as new, and the laminated Pizza ordering directions were clean. Ďalšie informácie

The hotel was in VERY bad condition! The rooms were damp and smelled as if a chemical was used to mask the smell. Considering the condition, it was relatively clean - sheets were ok, but the carpet was old and very damp around the AC unit and the sliding door. The hallway smelled of cigarette smoke even though it was supposed to be a "non smoking" hotel. […] Check in was at Comfort Inn, so I am hoping that they have taken it over and the units will soon be under renovation. The location to the University of Vermont was EXTREMELY convenient. The rate was reasonable - now I know why! This was not a pleasure trip, so I chose the hotel based on the the room rate. This was a horrible experience for me! Not only did the key-card locked doors not unlock, the staff was completely useless when it came to fixing the problem. It wouldn't have been as completely horrible if it was not pouring rain out. However, when I settled into my room, it smelled badly of smoke and mildew. There were NO LOCKS on the windows- broken […] off- and I was on the first floor. Eventually someone came to look at and possibly remedy the problem. The result was that I was changed to the room next door that smelled even worse of cigarettes. At least I didn't have to worry as much about being harassed by some drunken street-goer who could just walk up and slide my window right open... the repair guy was creepy and seemed to have a thing for trying to get key cards from female guests. The hotel was supposed to ensure that both of my rooms were side by side seeing as I was taking students on an overnight trip. They were on separate floors. They were supposed to provide a roll away bed for me, and they did not. The comforters and seats had cigarette burns and visible stains. I will not stay or recommend them again.

The room was spacious and comfortable. The location was convenient to the highway, and a short distance from my several destinations in the town. The building was somewhat worn, but at the price OK. Promised help with an item we needed never arrived. The smell of tobacco smoke was so pervasive that even clothing I never wore smelled of smoke. This was […] so severe I would not stay there again. I have visited this hotel in the past. The prices are lower than most in the area. I stayed in the older building, and you can tell that it is old. The hallway smelled of stale cigarette smoke. I was not comfortable sleeping in the bed. It was clean and all, but it was too hard for me. Overall, I would still stay here due to the prices, and 1 or 2 nights […] will not hurt me. 1. There is no front desk -- you have to check in at the Comfort Suites next door, which I did not know until I asked someone where to check in. 2. I go to my room and the bed is UNMADE!!! I called it in and they moved me to another room. 3. Though these are non-smoking rooms, the odor of the building and rooms was like they were trying to cover up […] the smoking odor. 4. I tried to open the windows to air out the room, but couldn't as the window tracks are warped and no screens. 5. That night, it was chilly and I turned up the heat, on the thermostat, and only COLD air came out. 6. The bathroom was clean but OLD -- no stopper in the sink, and the finish on the faucet was turning green with age, and the "heat lamp" in there provided NO heat. 7. Beds were very comfortable, continental breakfast included was surprisingly good, launderette across the road a bonus. Easy access to Uni by car. Halls and room smelt a bit musty but think that was due to lack of ventilation as our room was fine when we opened patio doors. Lovely outside small pool. Worth what we paid.

I was visiting my daughter at UVM. It was close to campus and Burlington, and had easy access to the highway. There was nothing fancy or high end about it but the hotel met my basic needs. The price was significantly cheaper than other hotels close to campus.

We requested a nonsmoking room;however the hallways were very smoky and the smell was in our room too. There needs to be better attention paid to nonsmoking arrangements at the University Inn. The quality of the stay would be much improved.

There was no luggage stand or guide to hotel services in the room, otherwise everything was fine, especially the hot tub and breakfast.

Overall for the price it was an awesome. The only bad part was when we went to use the pool and hot tub there was a family having a birthday party there. The children were unruly, loud and annoying.
