The hotel was in a great location, had beautiful grounds and the pool and fitness center were an added plus. The rooms were also very comfortable, nicely decorated and very clean. My only suggestion, the staff at the front desk needs to be more engaging to their customers, a smile and some enthusiasm when greeting your customers would be recommended. […] Standing behind the desk as customers walk in looking like you are bored out of your minds, is not a nice way to welcome people to your facility. My fiancée and I spent a nice night here while in town for an event and it was perfect. We spent time in the whirlpool, there is a library with a fireplace we were able to relax in. I think the stay was very good, one negative was the sliding door was broken and when you are carrying luggage it can be hard to open a regular door. Another negative was I am not sure if our door was broken but we had to user our room key to lock the door, wish the room had a fridge. She was very helpful and then she even remembered me and my mom the next day and came up to us a couple times and started talking and we were not even in her section. This was a nice hotel, close to I-80, comfy bed, clean room and the breakfast was top-notch. HOWEVER, the reason I chose this hotel over several others was so my kids could swim in the pool. This is by far the nicest hotel in the Iowa City/Cotalville area! Very clean, new rooms, cordial staff, and nice area surrounding the hotel. We will definitely be staying here again in the future.

Paying separate for parking is silly. Guests expect to have parking included with the stay. I read other reviews online that said the same thing. Staff should point out that parking is a separate fee, which they did not.

We had a great visit to Iowa City. We usually stay at the Sheraton Downtown but it was full so we gave this a try. The hotel and the surrounding little area far exceeded our expectations. The outdoor area was beautiful and so was the library. The rooms were immaculate. We will definitely be staying here from now on.

Newer Marriott hotel, conveniently located 10 minutes from University of Iowa facilities, and next to highway. Standard Marriott hotel rooms, but pool, exercise and lobby are a bit nicer than many Marriotts. In an area with newer restaurants, and walking path behind the hotel.

Nice, great hotel. One thing I wasn't too pleased with was that they wouldn't give me the hotels.com price (a huge price difference because it was home game weekend) when I called to book. They told me if I should just book through hotels.com if I wanted that price and because of that, I could not get my Marriott rewards points. Most hotels will match the hotels.com price if it differs so that you can collect your hotel chain rewards points and they don't have to pay the commission to hotels.com. We liked the Coralville Marriott. Clean, attractive, good breakfast at a reasonable price. Covered parking; nice with occasional Iowa bad weather.

You would expect to find this hotel in a thriving community. Not in an area with not much surrounding it. Overall a great hotel and served its purpose as an all encompassing wedding destination.

The front desk personel were very helpful. TV had very few stations and wasn't very user friendly. Movies were very expensive.

I love staying here. The rooms are beautiful, a cut above an ordinary hotel. The food in the hotel restaurant is fabulous. The surrounding grounds are beautiful, it's easy to park, and it's easy to get to off I-80.

I gave hand written assessment to front desk at time of check out, using the in room comment card. Memorial Day weekend-- very few people. Super quiet. Lovely room. Great beds and bedding. Great AC and quiet running. Lovely grounds w/fountains and native grass gardens, flowers. Cons: be aware of parking fees before you book. We were lucky to have zero […] cost due to holiday wkend. Otherwise, $$. Soda machines on our floor Empty. Found out we had to go to minimart in lobby; had to re-dress to go down. Hot tub was really too hot (and I love hot water) however very clean tile and water. Floor in pool room looked clean, but there was a lot of grit under foot. Digital timer for hot tub is Jerry rigged, rusting, not tightly screwed in place, without posted directions to know how to turn jets on.(press and hold until numbers appear for time increments.). Oddly, towels in our room over two days varied from very poor to decent quality. Bath towels were worst-- some were limp, threadbare, rough, and would be in the rag bag at my house. Such effort to create a hotel experience that is a cut above must have great towels!! Also, we rented a movie in our room. The movie slowed, halted, and restarted dozens of times. When I reported this to the desk by phone and asked for an adjustment on the cost, the staffer was very accommodating and gracious. Overall, a very nice hotel--great service, and the Edgewater Grill was wonderful. I took my 14 month-old to the pool, but it was a little chilly for us to enjoy. Also, most hotels offer a free breakfast these days. Considering this place costs so much more, you would think they would also offer one.

Hotel was located in a semi-industrial area and was easy to get to from the interstate. Looked nice from the outside and had a beautiful lobby. Parking was an additional charge on top of the room rate. I would expect that in a large city or in a crowded area, but not in this hotel's location. Arrived at midnight, the parking is to far away, never was offered valet or to take my bags up to the room. No full length mirror or makeup mirror. Plus a parking fee. We will go back to the Sheraton next time.

Ultra modern rooms with refridgerators, coffee makers, flat screen tv, free internet access, luxury beds. What's not to like. The outside terraces and grounds are still under construction but look like they will be very beautiful when completed.

We loved our stay here for graduation weekend. Parking wasn't complimentary, but we appreciated the location/it's pretty good for parking in IC per day. We enjoyed the comfort of our rooms, and they were very helpful to us. Wifi didn't work, though, and that's the only negative. Thanks!

This was my third time staying that this hotel and it was just as enjoyable as the two other times. The whole hotel is really well taken care of. The rooms are clean, the beds are comfortable, the bathrooms are very clean, and it's in a convenient location (right by I-80, close to the mall, and right between Coralville and Iowa City). Just off I-80 and within walking distance of two good restaurants, Marriott Coralville provides a convenient place to stay. Iowa City is three or four miles away. They have plenty of inexpensive parking. Our room looked out on the Iowa River. We got excellent service in the breakfast room and ate a very good dinner a block away.
