Inns on Bellevue - Newport

Wonderful place. Very antique, great location to beaches and downtown. Awesome service. Breakfast was great. Rates were wonderful. Room was clean. I would recommend.

Rooms were ok, staff was very pleasant,room was ok not great, for the price would stay at a property closer to the water.

I was very disapointed with the condition of the lobby and the surrounding areas of the B and B.Very tired and expensive for what you got.

This was our second visit to the Inn. We had our bikes along and we accessed every attraction in Newport RI - cliff walk, ocean drive, water front, mansions, St Mary's Church, & restaurants. We only stayed for one night, but it was great. The Inns are all located within walking distance to most Newport attractions. Our host, Paul, was great. i would not recommend this place. there are many hotels, and bed and breakfast that are nearer Newport, much cheaper and cleaner. the location of the hotel is superb. but the continental breakfast is awful and the comfort of the room is worst. bathroom sinks is clogged. bathroom tub is clogged. bathroom curtains are dirty, the whole place was dusty. If […] you are travelling with private car, rent a hotel or bed and breakfast outside New Port or 2 miles away from New Port, much cleaner and cheaper. Look somewhere along Ocean Drive. The whole place smells of mold and mildew. Decor is nice but carpets are disgusting. Found champange cork under bed, so they are not big on cleaning. Our bathroom was not attached to our room and we could not lock it from outside so anybody could use it.

We enjoyed our stay at the Inns at Bellevue; Brinley Inn with one exception. We were on the 3rd floor and this was very difficult to navigate for my husband who has ambulatory issues. This was a very comfy Inn to stay at and the breakfast was good if you are OK with something quick and filling. The coffee and espresso's were very good. The only issue I had was with parking, although the parking was included with the room, on one afternoon I parked in a spot closest to the sidewalk and found a not on my car saying not to park there. […] All the other spots were taken. So if you get in early, park your car and don't move it you should be OK. Cute place, charming rooms. Sure, the place could use a little love, but the price is right for the location.

In a nutshell - it's all location, location, location. Everything is within walking distance from this Hotel and it is in a quiet area. Very nice, very cozy, very familiar, very friendly

It was a wonderful Inn with convenient parking. Walked downtown without worry.

Lovely hotel... Friendly and accommodating service. great location with access to all Newports sights and activities. Would recommend to holiday makers looking to take in all of Newport's sights

The hotel was centrally located, the staff was very nice.. The room needed newer bedding and there were no robes in the bath.. The breakfast was skimpy.. But for the price was a great deal.. And, Again.. conveniently located.. could walk right downtown..

My boyfriend and I just got back from spending a weekend in Newport for a wedding. This hotel is a good choice for a weekend getaway when you're going to be out and about a lot. I wouldn't suggest a romantic weekend here, but it's a solid choice if you're on the go and want a place to sleep/shower and relax. Lovely Inn, great location, needs updating.

The rooms were small, as to be expected from an older, historic hotel but that doesn't mean they were crowded or uncomfortable. Quite the opposite, actually. The fixtures in the bathrooms were updated, and the bed was comfortable. Great view. The next morning, the staff was wonderful and helpful, and continually asked if they could assist with anything. […] The private parking lot was especially helpful as Newport has very limited parking due to narrow streets. Newport was just how you imagine ....quaint houses, beautiful boats, narrow streets... The Inn on Bellevue is situated at the top of the town, so a bit of a walk down into the main shopping/eating area. There's the Marina to look round and there's usually a Crusie Ship in dock. The room was completely outdated. I think the lamp by the bed was from 1968. The light fixtures in the room did not work. The door to the room would not close and the lock did not work so I was worried about my safety all night. The tv remote did not work. I could feel all of the springs in the cheap mattress in my back. There was no hot water in the […] sink at night. The floor was filthy. I had to park a block away from my car, and carry my luggage from the car and up 3 flights of stairs. Though in a very convenient location, I was a bit worried when I read some of the other reviews, but thought that I would give it a try. Our room was in a building behind the main building on the third floor of a very old building. The room appeared to have been ignored with the bathroom's exhaust fan hanging down and an old roll of paper towel stuffed […] under the bed. Beware if you book from a website they only post specific rooms that are the worst at the inn. They own several buildings in a one block radius. We stayed in room 15 of the Bellevue House. The room was a third floor walk up. It was very very small and the bathroom had only a shower. Some of the details might seem quaint to some, but I didn't like the […] extreme slope to the floors and the old decor and fixtures (think 1950's not 1700's). The worst was the bed, I had a miserable night sleep the first night. Also there were lots of fruit flies trapped in the room. It was rather gross. We complained the next day and they did change the bed, so I had a good night sleep the next night (we were there 2 nights - I still wonder what they did with that horrible bed). For the price and location, this is the best Inn around. You can easily walk to Thames St. and you don't need to find parking or take a cab. The staff was super friendly and the Inn was adorable. I especially loved the free breakfast because you can sit in the quaint lobby and the staff will bring your breakfast over to you (waffle, french toast, fresh […] fruit, etc). Upon check in was told that we had a remote bathroom that was not obvious when I reserved room. Room was very small, outdated and air conditioner was very loud. Had to go up three flights of stairs. Breakfast ran out early. Overall experience was not good would never return.

Very cozy place to stay. The staff was very friendly and helpful with the area. The breakfast was great. Very old building on a very old block. Just added to the charm. When we want to stay in Newport again, this is the place we will be back at!! Never stayed at a place like this. Cannot believe the excellent experience we had!

Nice! Would stay there again the next time we plan a trip to Newport. Great location, we were able to walk everywhere. Small but comfortable. Breakfast in the morning was great too.

The Inn was close to eveything. We walked to the downtown area. the manisons and the cliff walk. We didn't need our car except if we were lazy, It was a great getaway for a very reasonable price. We even got our breakfedt in the morning, cooked by the same clerk. We are going back in the fall.

The Inn on Bellevue was up to our expectations for the price of the room. At check-in the manager was very accommodating and friendly. Because it was not busy he upgraded our room as we would have been in the annex building instead. The only problem was for my wife getting in/out of bed as the mattress was well over her waist high. Let me start out by saying I was a bit leary about staying at the Inn on Bellevue based mixed on reviews I found online about the place. My wife had already booked it, so we went. Well, it was so much better than we both expected. The negative reviews just didnt seem to make sense. Paul gave us a beautifully renovated jacuzzi room at the Bellevue Manor, […] and Cindy made us a great breakfast in the morning. I asked Paul about the mixed reviews, and told him we were more than pleased with the room, service, and the price. He knew of the reviews, and explained that they had been undergoing a major renovation, which had affected the guests at that time. (noise, water pressure, etc) They have also had a complete change of staff since then. We will come back to the Inns on Bellevue during the summer, and look forward to the renovated rooms, and seeing Cindy and Paul again. Ďalšie informácie

The Inn on Bellevue is in a great location, wonderful service and the Inn itself is lovely. I would not stay in the carriage house/Bellevue House behind the Inn. The price was a bit much for an uncomfortable bed (especially on the first floor) and much noise from paper thin walls.

Although the Inn is conveniently located half-way between the beach and the downtown Newport harbor area, the room was very small and dated. The bathtub was 3/4 the size of a standard tub and the room definitely could have been cleaner. The breakfast was very good, however. Even still, I would never return.
