"Would expect to pay more"
This hotel was way beyond what I expected for the price. They have a great breakfast buffet that included in the price of the hotel. The bar has live entertainment and the staff is wonderful. Friend had to stay at another hotel and they were jealous when I told them where I was staying. This is a wonderful hotel. I give it 10 stars.

We were pleasantly surprised by this wonderful hotel that had everything we needed. We spent the day in Fredericksburg and then stayed in the hotel that evening. The hotel rooms were large and clean. The restaurant had a wonderful prime rib buffet dinner and delicious desserts on Saturday night. free breakfast buffet, and was setting up for Easter brunch […] when we left. They had a nice Country Western club with an excellent band that had us dancing all night. We enjoyed the evening and then walked to our room without having to drink and drive. They had plenty of swimming pools and hot tubs along with a workout center. They also had a sports center and bowling. My favorite discovery was the walk behind the hotel which lead to a nice Italian restaurant that overlooked the river. We were able to relax, sip wine, have appetizers, listen to a nice quiet band, and watch the sunset. There was also a large olympic size pool beside the restaurant that was also part of the hotel. This was a very romantic place for a couple, but would also be a great place to take a group, or have a family reunion. Plenty to do for adults and children. We will definitely be back! "Not what it appears"
The hotel is undergoing renovation . Don't let the outside appearance fool you. The room was very nice and comfortable. The hotel staff was very accomodating and friendly. Really enjoyed the breakfast buffet also.
I thought that the hotel was ok. It had a very nice breakfast buffet. We got the buffet with the price of the room. I think without the room the buffet would have been a bit pricey. The Inn is old, so it looked old. It was alright for the night and for the price.

"Inn of the Hills in Kerrville"
We reserved a room on the courtyard side and I would not do it again! There is no privacy as the curtains are sheer and people are able to look right into the room. During the night the courtyard lights shine in and the room is fairly well lit. Not conducive for a well rested night. Neighbors were a bit noisy also. The amenities listed were no longer […] available unless one went to the gym next door. The dining room is expensive. Make sure to get a free breakfast voucher! I booked a room at this hotel because we were meeting family for dinner close by. I should have looked around more. While the lobby of the hotel is clean and nice, I felt that the actual room was dirty and dusty. I walked around with socks on the whole time and didn't want to touch the bedspread, as it seemed unclean. In addition, the room seemed incredibly […] dusty. My whole family has allergies and we were coughing and sneezing a lot while in this room. My daughter coughed all night, so needless to say, no one really slept. The bed was not very comfortable and the room overall was very dark - was not very comfortable. The bathroom wasn't too bad, other than the fact that the lighting was really dark - made it difficult when putting on makeup. If your just passing thru on I-10 and don't care what Kerrville has to offer a visitor, then shack up at any of the cookie cutter chain hotels just off the interstate. But if you want to kick back in a comfortably different kind of lodging, try IOTH. This isn't the Ritz. But it's homegrown and not processed, it's familiar and not fake. ""too busy" for room service"
This place is called a resort. Although it has quite a few "amenities" it's probably a better summer place. It is NOT a resort. NEGATIVES: saw a near dead large roach on bathroom floor on first morning. Door was not very secure. There was no room service menu in room. When I called they said they were really busy in the dining room and it would be awhile; […] I could go and pick up the menu but actual room service would be a wait! POSITIVES: great breakfast buffet. Try to get a package that includes it. Is worth it. Very wide parking spots.....great when you are driving a brand new mustang and don't want door dings! Microwave fridge and coffee maker in room. Most of the dining staff are older but really sweet ladies!! They have specialty buffets each night, and really can't beat the Friday night seafood Buffett for $16.95/pp. I think it would be fun to stay there in the summer as the pool area seems nice. Although a little dated (about to receive a remodel I think), IOTH in Kerrville is a good value with a nice pool, nice amenities and an awesome Sunday brunch buffet. Ample parking, close to drugstores/restaurants, convenient check in/out, friendly staff. Our room had two queens AND a pull-out sofa so a family of 6 could have easily fit. -would have been helpful to know that Main St became the Junction HWY as I got lost finding it. Grandkids enjoyed the pool, as did the adults. Also nice to learn that it is near a bridge and loop that avoids the downtown traffic and gets you quickly on the main road to the Kerrville Folk Festival. Filling breakfast buffet. You had no internet connection, the TV was OLD and you did not have movies to rent off the TV. The buffet breadfast was awful. We came for the Kerrville folk festival. You had no displays on what was going on locally and no one knew where it was.

This was a very disappointing experience. When we arrived in our room, there was a musty smell in the room. As we went to bed that night, our sheets smelled like they had sat in the room a while as they smelled musty. The was a huge dead roach in the bathtub along with some other debris. "Still the best bang for your buck in Kerrville"
I've been staying at the Inn of the Hills since 1999 and the quality and deterioration of the hotel has gone down a little but it's still very nice and comfortable for the price, the staff is always nice and the food is great, they still need to get an on-site jacuzzi, they always have great bands to dance to and a great bar, thumbs up to the hotel […] and the staff. I left a letter for the manager saying that I felt that our room was a possible health hazard. The bathroom door veneer had peeled off due to moisture and a black mold had formed over the 4" x 3" damaged area. Also, the bedspreads were dirty. Mine had what looked like spots of red jello on it. "An aging queen"
The Inn of the Hills once was THE place to stay in Kerrville. The rooms are large and the construction is attractive with a rock wall highlighting the Texas Hill Country surroundings. There is a very large pool and a small, intimate pool that is tucked away in one end of the courtyard. Very nice. But small maintenance items are catching up with them. […] The shower head howled like a banshee. The carpet had a greasy feel that may have just been from too many applications of Scotchguard as it did not turn our feet black as would a dirty carpet. The hotel itself was lovely, and we enjoyed the pool and the grounds. The room was another issue entirely. Th wall behind the bed was made from large stones. Although nice to look at, the maintainence was something else. While sitting up in bed, I started to lean back on the headboard. It was only by luck that my daughter noticed a wad of chewing gum […] on one if the rocks behind my head. We also noted that the box springs on both bed had a myriad of nasty looking stains. "Outstanding Hotel"
I like this hotel because it has a small refrigerator and microwave. When I stay 6 days in the same place I usually buy food and eat in some times. Only negative was cleaning crew always forgot to refill the coffee and I love coffee. I had to continue to ask for it during the day when I saw a cleaning cart. Other than that, the area is fabulous, pools […] look great too. Convenient to Fredericksburg with great shopping and to Hunt, Tx where there are many summer camps. Mexican food is fabulous here! Not a bad place. I would like to see the beds and bedding get an update. Desk staff very nice and helpful. Free coffee in the morning was good. Overall, I'm okay with this place and would likely stay again in the area.
