Me and my husband were off to a nice get-a-way for some alone time and going through a lot of hotels for moderate prices when we kept coming back to this one. The pics looked amazing so we booked it. Bed was hard as a rock, pictures do not reflect true condition of the hotel. The surrounding neighborhood is ghetto. The only positive thing I can say is the service was good, they were very friendly. I would not recommend this hotel to others especially not at the weekend price that we paid.

I found my experience at Alpine Inn to be highly successful. The Inn itself is an older retro-style of small bungalows set back off a main thoroughfare on a hillside view site. This Hotel looks much better in the pictures. We had booked a non-smoking room which was labelled that way. It definitely smelled like someone had been smoking. If you want to stay in San Francisco, but away from the noise and chaos of the city, this is the place to be. Quiet neighborhood with easy access to downtown by car or transit. The bathroom was too small though. The breakfast was OK, slightly better than what you find in other motels as "continental breakfast", however it could have used a little variety. Eating the exact same things for a few days can get boring. Not much to do around the hotel but we just used it as a base to shower and sleep, so no complaints. SAN FRAN can get expensive when it gets to hotels, and that is the reason why you're thinking of going this route. I think the place is great, rooms are quite nice, and you'll have a comfortable night to sleep in. But, If you think you can get to San Francisco's turistic areas walking... think again. It's next to bad neighborhoods, they don't seem that […] bad until you venture to the closest 7-11 and don't leave the car because of the shady people that surround you. This place will do if you're in a pinch and you're visiting/working in Brisbane. Bare bones. Not the type of place to park the family.

I needed a place to stay before I went to the airport the next morning. I found this place last minute on hotels.com. I also had my 86 year old grandmother my mom and my 5 yr old son with me. The neighborhood seems really guetto and I would never have a walk there by night, even during daytime, but the hotel itself is OK. Not great, but OK. Staff was very friendly.

Rooms are clean, well stocked and the staff was very friendly. The rooms have WiFi access as well as cable television and a good place to stay when just looking for a room without any additional outside amenitites.

This was a great quiet hotel if you are on a budget just 15 mins from San Francisco with great views over the bay. Rooms had obviously been recently updated and were clean and comfortable. Having a microwave and refrigerator in the room helped cut the cost of buying food in the city and there was a few fast food restaurants just a few blocks away. The […] free breakfast selection was limited but the staff were always replenishing it and the Starbucks coffee was a definite plus! I thought that the price of the room would be worth staying a little farther out. It turns out that there is no shuttle from the airport and the cab ride, with tip, to/from the airport was about $30 each way. The neighborhood is really crappy and there are very few restaurants nearby. Without a car, I wouldn't recommend it. It was very clean inside […] however. The hotel was quite dirty and old. I could see that most of the material was rusty. Hotel room, as well as the bath room, was quite dirty, the towels were yellowish, the water came out from the water tap was dark in color. Air conditioner was pretty old, and could hardly switched to warm mode.

The staff was extremely helpful. The rooms are cute and comfortable. Parking is free. Easy to hop on the 280, 1, and 101. A super good deal. I will definitely go back.

Even though the hotel has received commendations by Trip Advisor, we were quite disappointed by this hotel. Upon our arrival we found that the rooms we were assigned reeked of stale smoke, even though they were designated non smoker rooms. The front desk offered to move us, but to a much smaller room. Also, the rooms were very cheeply remodeled, tiles […] painted over, peeling away in the shower etc., it was dingy. The nice things we can say is that the windows were new, which really kept the noise from the street out, that there was parking right in front of your room, that they had coffee makers with Starbucks coffee available, that the sink in the bathromm was relatively new and that the bedlinens seemed fresh and new. Negative comments are: floor was warped, 2nd bedroom was really a closet with a bed, refrigerator made so much noise, we had to unplug it, same for the heating/air conditioning unit. Bedcovers were so thin, both couples during our visit got up in the middle of the night to put on clothes, bathroom had no space at all to, put down any personal items. The chairs were so stained, that we hestiated to sit on them, but we did not need to, because the so called "breakfast" was so limited and unappealing that we went to the closest breakfast place, an IHOP, almost 5 miles away. The clerk at the front desk was very nice and tried to help, but it did not change the impression, that this place certainly has seen better days and we were glad that we only stayed there for an overnight. The person at the front desk was really nice. My only problem was the quality of the WiFi which was poor. It seems that it is bescause of the rain and maybe because I was in a room at the extremity of the motel.

paper bedding sheets, heater only in one of the rooms, so people in second room actually got "ill". I wouldnt stay there in the "cold" months of the year...

Great location if you don't mind driving to SFO for 10 minutes, good place for the budget, great staff, friendly and helpful. Clean rooms. Check for clean towels. If you are going to take advantage of their complementary breakfast, make sure you get there early. Overall a good place for the money.

The hotel is very nice, breakfast is really good. The hotel is in Daily city, but it takes only few mintues to reach downtown. Very convenient place.

After reading many reviews on places in this price range in the SOMO and Civic Ctr areas, I decided that the expensive parking and hookers weren't what I was looking for when I finished work. I decided on the Alpine Inn and I spent 3 nights here and can confirm most of the attributes given in reviews. Nice design touches in the rooms that elevates it […] slightly above chain motels. Friendly staff too. Due to its location, it feels safe and on it's own quiet "street". If you go to the local supermkt, you can stock the fridge and use the Mwave. Queen bed is very comfy, bring your own pillow and ear plugs if poss. People in adjacent room can be heard if they're loud. Indeed, 15mins access to SFO & DwTn by car. Gd value for the money. Non-smoking room, but like so many low-cost NS motels, there's a slight smell of smoke in the room. Size was okay for me, but more than a couple would be tight. (only one bed btw) For the money, you get a safe place to stay that doesn't cost a fortune. Parking is directly in front of your room so you can watch your car. Coffee pot, iron, mwave all pluses. Old-style window unit AC/htr works quickly. CRT TV limited to about ten channels, but hopefully one is out enjoying the city and not watching the tube. Ďalšie informácie

I stayed here at the end of a long weekend in SF. Needed to do some work the next morning before flying out of SFO. For the price, I was really impressed with the cleanliness and accomodations. It's directly across from the vacant Cow Palace and not really in a desireable part of town, but if you have a car it's not a problem.

friendly employee's room was clean just what you would expect from a budget hotel

Nice, quaint hotel, clean and within walking distance to the Cow Palace. The manager even got up early to give us the breakfast as we were leaving early to participate in the Breast Cancer 3 day. Very nice staff!

The outside looks like an old hotel but inside has been upgraded, not what I expected. Ok place nice view of ocean and Cow Palace, neightbor hood not the best looking.
