Even though its is more suited to business visitors, it was a great location. Close to train & metro. Everyone was really helpful with all the little questions we had.

We just returned from a 12-day cruise that ended in Barcelona, where we spent three nights at the Gran Hotel Torre Cataluyna. We loved this hotel. It was clean, spacious, had a beautiful view, and the service personnel were very helpful.

Excellent facility and a very good value. Just wished we could have had a regular small coffee machine in room rather than a hot water pot with instant coffee. It may *once* have been a four star hotel... The old style CRT TV and music system that still has a tape player are a bit of a give away for the last major refurb. Decided to stay at this hotel based on other ratings. It was a nice hotel, the staff was friendly and helpful. The location was away from the main tourist locations but right next to the train station so transportation was readily available. Very good breakfast buffet. Upgraded our room upon arrival to the 16th floor and had a wonderful view.

Great experience. The staff were all very nice and helpful. I needed help with the wifi and they sent someone right up to assist with that so i thought that added to the good customer service. The room was very presentable, clean, and cozy. I got a big king size bed as advertised (not two twins put together). The bathroom was really nice too. I went […] down to the bar a few times and that had a pretty nice atmosphere to just relax. Then as I checked out they made sure I had a ride to the airport by calling a taxi for me. The Front desk and reception staff were amazing and very helpful. I was disappointed in the room cleanliness, the toilet area floor needed a good cleaning. The view was outstanding from the 21st floor. The breakfast was delicious and a wide variety of food was offered.

Excellent hotel next to the railroad station. We were there during the slow season in December so, I am not sure how the rates will be during the rest of the year but it was reasonable for a 4 star hotel. Breakfast is much more than you usual experience.

The room was really nicely laid out and would be perfect for a long stay (tons of closet space, fun view, large bathroom). The neighborhood isn't the most exciting, but it's close to the metro and we were coming in via train from valencia, so the proximity to the train station worked out perfectly. My major complaint is that the halls are tiled (as […] is the room), which means everything echoes up and down. There was a group staying in several rooms on our floor and would talk loudly in the halls when arriving or departing together. Luckily, they didn't do this late at night, but definitely would be a big problem if they were late-night party-ers. Excellent, the hotel room cleaners were trustworthy and we had nothing stolen, despite previous warnings from other reviewers. They also managed to not disturb us once during our stay. Free in-room wifi was brilliant and customer service was fantastic.

Nice 3 night stay. On arrival upgraded to a superior room with a great view of downtown Barcelona. Bed + pillows really comfy ! Bar staff in lounge excellent. Great access to airport, metro and tourist buses. Would recommend to anyone wanting a short stay.

Hotel is convenient to downtown and the airport. Spectular views out over the city from the rooms. The comfort of the beds could be improved. (Mattress) Restauant dress code is formal. Restaurant is on 23 floor, really great views. I would stay at this hotel again if in Barcelona.

Reasonably priced but located away from town center. Rooms are large, very nicely appointed and with a large very nice bathroom with beautiful shower and separate tub. Highly recommend for short stay or business.

We had a wonderful city break in the Torre Catalunya. Check-in was swift and staff helpful. We upgraded in order to have a room on the 19th floor which had an amazing view. Little extras such as Molten Brown toiletries were appreciated. Breakfast was 12 Euros each and very good value. I would have no hesitation in recommending this hotel.

We were in Barcelona for 4 days, we arrived at 9:am and they upgraded us to suite and let us up to the room immediately. We were very pleased with how spacious, clean and quiet the rooms were. Stayed for 3 nights (Sept 6-9) at the beginning of our cruise then decided to stay again for 1 night at the end. It is a little pricey but you save a lot from cab fare because the train station is so close! Grab a T-10 (10 trips in 1 zone) ticket when you get off the airport and head to the Sants Station. The corner rooms are incredible with a view […] of the magic fountain and the Espanya Square. There is a market below the hotel, I recommend grabbing a large bottle of water to take on your travels. DOWNSIDES - No clocks in the room. Lack of free WiFi. The large beds are actually just two small beds pushed together, but if you adventure hard then you will pass out without even noticing. I know some people think the location is a bit distant from "downtown", but to me it is more important to be close to the train station when you are most likely to be lugging heavy bags, and besides the places to see in Barcelona are all scattered anyway, so being close to metro is more important. Also, the hop-on tourist bus,which is a must for a first timer in Barcelona, stops behind the train station, and that gives you access to everywhere. Taxi from airport for 4 people was 14 euros. Lots of great restaurants within walking distance, a shopping mall two blocks away, and a supermarket next door. We booked two rooms for our family of 4 with 2 teenagers and they gave us a two-room "suite" that had a common door to a foyer leading to two separate rooms.One room was a huge corner room with great views.The best part? The room we were given at check-in was on the third floor facing the street. During the early morning hours traffic/street noise was quite loud. I requested a quieter room and the front desk and bell staff were most accommodating. We were put up on the 7th floor and the street noise was minimal. My husband and I only stayed one night before flying back to the states the next day after a cruise. The rooms were gorgeous--marble tile flooring, very modern look to the whole room, especially the bathroom. Nice air-conditioning. The beds weren't so great, but sufficient. The RESTAURANT was the most impressive, though. I would say absolutely 5 stars--again, […] very modern, chic, so pleasing to look at, panoramic views of the city, amazing food, helpful service but not annoying, and did I mention the food??!! We ate there for lunch, dinner and breakfast the next morning (you pay at check-in for the buffet breakfast). Very, very classy. Also, all the front desk and restaurant staff did speak English and seemed more than willing to help Americans. There are a couple other small restaurants (fast-food?), souvenir shops and grocery stores near by (walking distance). There is also a really neat park a block or two away, and old cathedral-looking buildings within view from the hotel. I booked this hotel as part of a 3 night package for a birthday present for my partner with also the intention of proposing in Barcelona. I had checked all the reviews on Expedia and Trip Advisor and thought that this hotel would make a good choice. I was proven right. The hotel is located a few hundred yards away from one of the main train staions […] in Barcelona, The Estacio Sants. However, do not let this fact put you off as when you're in the hotel you don't get any noise at all and the area is always kept very clean. Being so close to this station means that it's perfect for Train, Metro, Bus and Taxi links across the entire city and beyond. Check in was quick and pain free and I could not praise both Valentina and Georgina enough for their friendliness, professionalism and help. They even left a note and a small cheesecake to say happy birthday to my partner. A nice touch. The room was a good size with an equally good sized bathroom with two sinks, toilet, bidet and bath with good shower above. Everything was clean and comfortable. This was a collection room and located on floor 17 with nice views over the city. We didn't have time to make use of the spa and were too interested in exploring to use the restaurant and bar but if they were of the same standard as the rest then I'm sure they'd be excellent too. Location is fantastic, train station is just across the road. Extremely helpful receptionists and bell boy, they will not hesitate to answer any questions you have. The only thing is the bed is not very comfortable, but for the price & location I can't complain.
