Hotel overbooked and did not have our room avabilable.

I enjoyed my stay. The staff was very nice, and they were very accommodating for the conference being held there.

Our one-night stay was very good. Nice, spacious rooms. The only thing I missed, was a in-room folder with information about the hotel. There was nothing, I do like to find things out by reading about them instead of calling the front desk for every question I have. We asked for an additional rollaway bed, which came within 20 minutes. Close to the […] party scene on 6th street, but still a little away from the worst noise. We had a great time and it was incredibly close to everything we wanted to enjoy. 6th street, great places to eat and local shops. The view was also great

Everything was great except for the parking garage. It seemed the gate system to get in and out of the lot was crashing about every day.

Good location, safe parking garage, busy location, clean rooms and comfortable bedding. Down side --- we didn't get the room we reserved 3 months prior and they put us in a disabled room with a shower that poured all over the bathroom floor. Too many loud young loud parties in rooms with yelling and screaming til 2 am two nights in a row. That was […] a huge negative. It was wonderful

Attended a reunion event in downtown and was able to walk to it and all restaurant and club venues easily.

I loved the location! We walked to Congress Street and 6th Street with no problems. My only issue was the noise level. I don't know if it was related to the wedding that took place that night or what but from about midnight till 3 am people were hollering, laughing and carrying on. Needs to be more soundproof. This was overpriced for the hotel. Good location if you want to hang out on 6th street, but for the price take a taxi and save the extra $150. That is what I will do next time.

The hotel was great, location was awesome but the self parking is $20 a car. The public garage right next to the hotel is only $11 for 24 hours, park in the public lot and save your money!!!!!!

Yes the hotel is in a great location but so are a half a dozen others for less money. The lobby is the nicest part of the hotel. I was very dissappointed for a few hundred doallrs you don't even get a fridge or microwave. Motels have a better set up. Oh, and I never did find ice. The overall experience was good, but the wait at the elevators was terrible. Sometimes would have to wait over 10 minutes to get on an elevator that wasn't already too crowded by the time it reached my floor (11).

This hotel is in a great location it is only two blocks off of sixth street but to say the least they have paper thin walls in the hotel. It is hard to get a good nights rest in this hotel due to the lack of noise barriers between the rooms and hallways. Be ready to be woken up about everything 15 minutes or more after about midnight as the next group […] of drunken guests returns to their rooms. Also if one pulls the fire alarm like they did during our stay just hope the hotel has enough courtesy to announce a false alarm before you get down 18 flights of stairs. The alarm was pulled during our stay and was sounded for at least 10 minutes yet there was never an all clear announcement. We decided to call to the reception desk which of course was busy for quite a while to get confirmation it was indeed a false alarm. The hotel's common areas were clean and inviting. The staff was welcoming and considerate of our requests. As usual, the comfort and number of Hilton's pillows pamper. All of that was to the good, on our 3-night stay.. But, and I'll put this delicately: Hilton cannot control the fact that some skanks stay there, however, they can control whether or […] not housekeeping pays enough attention that they might see and remove a used contraceptive and wrapper from the floor. I do commend the management for the response to our disgust and a sincere commitment to remedy what was unacceptable. Excellent location - right near historic 6th street. Bed and linens were quite comfortable and hot water was plentiful.

Excellent, near perfect service at this hotel. The bellhops were so helpful (and cute too!). They were great helping with taxis and directions. I also had a great experience with the concierge. The people on staff are just outstanding. Also, they have a great fitness room and spa too. I only wish the wireless was free! The hotel is very nice with a good restaurant/bar, coffee shop and health club quality gym. In a great location one block over from 6th St. area. This hotel nickel and dimes you throughout your entire stay. Your room rate is only the beginning of how much it will cost to stay. You are charged to park each car, so if you and your spouse drive in, you have 2 parking charges that rival NYC parking fees - not exaggerating unfortunately. Want a roll away bed, there is a charge for that per night... Want […] to use the business center computer? There is a charge for that - by the minute with a fee minimum. I couldn't make this up if I tried. Want to print something off in the business center, say an email... There is a charge for that. I never did try to connect to the internet, but it was clearly labeled as being managed by a 3rd party, so I'm sure another fee for that. The inside of the hotel is very nice, a great first impression with the sprawling entry way, grandiose front desk, nice bar and restaurant. However, the room is nothing worth noting with the exception that our shower barely worked and I stood in a lake of soap and shampoo. The only thing that this hotel has going for it is location. At first we thought it was cheaper than it's competitors, but after all the nickel and dime fees we paid more. I had a much better experience at the Sheraton down the street. The room was clean and had all the basic amenities you would expect - safe, luggage rack, wooden hangers, flat panel tv. The bed was soft and pillows were very soft. The bathroom also was clean and they had toiletries from Peter Thomas Roth. It is a big hotel. The lobby offers a coffeeshop, standard restaurant/bar, and free wireless internet. There's […] also a gym and a pool, but I never used it so not sure whether it was extra. You can park in their underground garage for twenty dollars per day with unlimited entrance and exit. After a certain time, you will need your room key to access the elevators. There was a sign asking patrons not to party in their rooms for the benefit of others trying to sleep. If you're looking to hang out in downtown Austin, the location is walking distance to Sixth Street and the Arthouse at Jones Center and easy to get to UT, the capitol, or shop along SoCo. The location is unbeatable, steps away from 6th St and within walking distance to nearly everything downtown. Like most hotels at this price point, the rooms are smaller than, say, 2.5 or 3 star hotels, and the hotel offers a lovely lobby, a spa, and a fitness area that most of us never use. The bed was very comfortable; if that is your primary concern, I highly recommend this Hilton's mattresses. The bathroom was nothing special, it was stocked and promptly restocked with Peter Thomas Roth toiletries and ample fresh towels. Parking in the garage can be difficult, many cars purposely parked over or on the line so no one would park beside them. All in all, this hotel is very expensive for the size of the room, especially if you aren't making use of the spa, fitness center, concierge, etc. and are mostly going out. I'd like to say it had something to do with the modern room and comfortable bed, the view or the lovely updated bathroom, but in fact it had nothing to do with that and everything to do with the occasion . This was the WORST hotel that I have ever stayed in. The location was great and that is it. The beds were super uncomfortable and you could hear everything that went on outside your room door and down the entire hallway. My best friend from college and I met for a weekend get away. She lives in Houston and I live in Dallas so this seemed like the perfect half way point. We wanted a hotel that would be close to 6th street and offer eating and entertainment with in a comfortable walking distance. Hilton Austin offered this and more!! We were very pleased with our room […] and the staff was very accommodating. We ended up eating lunch and dinner at the hotel and were not disappointed. Stayed here when my normal place was booked and won't be coming back. What's good: clean, comfortable room. Decor is dated and carpets look questionable, but no major complaints. The room service sushi is a nice change from the standard fare (of course, with the standard outrageous hotel mark up). Friendly cleaning staff. The fitness center is well […] staffed and appealing. The bad: Dreadful service and clueless front desk staff. The staff couldn't be bothered to properly code my key for self-parking when I asked for it at check in resulting in a line, honking, and being late for my meeting the next morning (the "push button for attendant" guy was also on break apparently). I ended up paying with my credit card and having to make another trip to the front desk. They just shrugged and sort of apologized. The baffling: For some reason, there's a rush on the elevators in the morning and evening resulting in a 10-30 minute wait for the elevator coming AND going. At times the line extended out into the lobby. Not pleasant when you just want to get back to your room after a long day. Staff very friendly, the only problem was athey could of done a better job checking to see if the room had been cleaned properly. Candy wrappers on the fllor and candy stuck to serving tray for the ice bucket. An oversight I'm sure.

We have stayed at this Hotel before because it is walking distance to 6th Street. Our stay on New Years Eve started out great the Hotel allowed us to check in early, I had requested a room with a view of Sixth Street. The first room was not what I had requested and the staff immediately changed our room to one with a great view. We tried to take a nap […] but a dog was barking non stop. I made a call to thge front desk and they said they would send someone up to check it out. The barking stopped shortly after my call. After a night out we returned to our floor and saw a women passed out face down lying in the hall of the 13th floor. There was also a drunk man and women sitting on the floor next to a room with the door propped open and a loud party going on inside. I called the front desk to report the woman passed out in the hall and Security came to check it out. The walls in this hotel are very thin because we heard a loud argument on one side of our room and children playing loud music on the other side.Also after I got home I checked my bank account and the Hotel had charged $50.00 to my credit card. I called the hotel and was transfered the the accounting department and they could not explain why the charge was made . Our room had been paid in full when the reservation was made. Check in was easy, convenient location, great service! They drive us to our dinner destination in the VIP SUV instead of us waiting for a van taxi! Recommended every time!

We arrived at 3:00pm to check in, room was not ready. The put us in another room that wasn't what we paid for and asked to be changed. Was not able to get in room till 6:30pm. We had dinner reservations for 7:30 and were not able to make it to dinner at all. Hotel was pretty, clean and had a large lobby. Surprise; $20 per night parking. No free wifi in rooms. Television system not designed for watching free TV. You have to navigate through complex menus just to find regular TV. If you have lots a money st spend, this is the place for you, if not, look elsewhere.

The location, parking garage, staff all were awesome. Loved there are many things in walking distance. Just had a wonderful stay and great time at this hotel and in Austin.
