This is the worst dump I have ever tried to sleep in. Noisy, smelly, creepy, break ins... RUN AWAY!!!!

It is an inexpensive hotel, without many amenities. A musty semi-smokey odor pervaded the hallway, but not the room itself. The location is convenient if you are willing to take short walks to transportation lines. Friendly, helpful staff; comfortable; great location near Kensington Market, Chinatown & Queen West; one of our two rooms smelled funny and the handle fell of the kettle in the other, but this somehow added to the faded "soviet" charm,

It smells in the hallway and the room. The room is a little bit crowded and the bed is very small, but clean. It is like an apt. The staff were very nice, friendly and helpful. We had to spend 5 nights there. The parking is the cheapest in the town. And it is close to everything. Front desk staff was some of the rudest people I have ever come across. Not to mention all the hidden fees that they decided to throw in upon check in - which they decided was not gonna be refunded until several days AFTER check out. It was the only hotel that had smoking rooms. I found it so hard to find those types of rooms. The room was a little outdated but it served the purpose.

This hotel used to be a student dormitory, and as long as the traveler keeps this in mind, all else falls into place. It is not luxury living, but more than adequate, and very convenient for the price. Some in-depth cleaning is needed, such as around the stove knobs and inside the kitchenette cabinets. There are several low-cost housing complexes nearby, but I had no safety concerns even coming back late at night. The hotel location was very convenient. All parts of downtown Toronto could easily be reached on foot. The parking lot was an added bonus I was in Toronto for a conference, and I noticed several other young attendees from Europe at the hotel. They were sharing rooms and seemed perfectly satisfied. this was a last minute reservation and they did well accommodating us. i liked the cleanliness of it and although it could have been bigger size room, it was a great place to stay really quick for a one or two night stay in the lovely Toronto

Fine for what it is. Just don't expect too much.

It's not in good condition. It's hard to find.

For the money.......which was on the lower side of the scale......I was expecting a lot more. It was an old condo complex converted to hotel rooms. The reception area was terrible.....Not inviting at all. The hallways had that musty (wet) smell to them). The room had actual keys....not cards. Once in the room there were exposed electrical lines as […] if someone didn't want to take the time to do it right the first time. Closets, TV, Furniture, bathroom, etc. were completely outdated. Good location to access to downtown, cheap and you can cook your own food. From two streets you can reach to downtown. From north, Dundas street goes to chines town and be careful! You cannot find any fast food or usual grocery store. ONLY chines stuff. It’s better to take the Queen St. to explore the city.

i stayed here for the art festival 'Nuit Blanche' and i was very satisfied with the convenient location of the hotel! It was basically a motel, very basic. Definitely not somewhere you want to stay and spend too much time in. It's good as a place to sleep! The room was clean, and the neighbourhood wasn't very bad either. Grange hotel was within walking distance of what we wanted to visit & we didn't have to pay the outrageous parking fees in Toronto

The hotel was kind of hard to find, because it looked like an apartment. The parking lot was accessible and cheap. The service at the front desk was friendly and kind with patience. The room was reek of smoking as if someone else smoked in the room before we came in. However, the room itself was reasonable clean. A converted apartment in a terrible neighbourhood, the wireless did not work and the hotel staff refused to reset the modem. Probably the worst hotel I ever stayed at. Overpriced too.

I will stay there again. Helpful staff, offers all the basics that I need. Well located and easy access to bus, streetcar & subway.

Good value, neighbourhood is run down but only a few blocks to a main street and easy walk to downtown Toronto. Hotel is clean and good value for the price.

Nice hotel but not to convenient. Difficult to find at first but easy to get to after located the first time. Easy access to Dundas and Spadina Chinatwon. Good value for room. Free internet access. I would stay there again and have already booked my next stay for the second week of July.

I shared one of the approx. 200sqft rooms with 2 friends while in Toronto for a concert. since we were there just to sleep, it suited up just fine. It is a bit away from the Rogers Centre and the Air Canada Centre (where the concert was), about a half hour walk, but it's only 2 blocks from a TTC stop. The neighbourhood seemed a bit run down but friendly […] and cleanish. Cycling seemed to be a preffered method of transportation here, and there were plenty of bicycles chained up around, apparently without the threat of theft. I did not see any homeless people till east of spadina, about 5 blocks away. There is ample shopping around the area. The room itself had an odour. It smelled of exotic cooking. It was pretty strong, strong enough that I bought some room spray at the shoppers drug mart close by. The bathroom was very clean, and I enjoyed the added touch of a "sanitised" label across the toilet seat. There is wired internet in the rooms, and wireless at the hotel (though I never got the login code). The front desk has all the toiletries you may have forgotten, at reasonable prices (a dollar for a toothbrush or toothpaste) there are also some snacks there, also reasonably priced. free newspaper in lobby and laundry facilities on site. Overall it was exactly what I thought it would be, and just what I needed. The staff was friendly, the location was good, and most of all the price was awesome. I will definitely stay there again, unless I'm with my girlfriend who doesn't like to stay at places with less than 3 stars. Ďalšie informácie

Cheap, close to downtown T.O. Good hotel if you don't plan on sitting in your hotel all day.

I was looking for a very cheap inexpensive room for my friend and I for the UFC 129 weekend. I was happy with the hotel but it is noted that the surrounding area is extremely dangerous. One night several youths could be heard fighting and smashing bottles on the street outside our window. BUT, the location, easy access to subway and TTC transportation […] as well as the service all make this a worthy stay despite the risk of being killed in an alley if returning late at night. the hotel was very clean and had a little kitchenette and was in a great location for walking around downtown, will stay there again.

The hotel serves its purpose, close to city center and generally clean in a good neighborhood. Yes, its amenities are limited, but that doesn't scream at you. The spring bed was stretched and kind of uncomfortable, like sailors bed. The compromises had to be made, but not huge.

Was an okay experience. Location to the downtown core was a plus. Felt more like a dorm room than a hotel though. But for the price, it's hard to complain. Pay less for rooming...save on cabs. Unless you plan on spending your full day inside a hotel, this is sufficient.

Outdated room in unsafe area. Parking for $4 was OK.

We were looking for something reasonably close to the Blue Jays baseball park that was not exorbitantly priced (although this is much too far to walk to the park). Having read other reviews here I knew to expect a basic room, and it was. Very small, but very clean. Our room came with a double bed and also a single bed. Full kitchenette which we didn't use as we were staying only one night. Full sized bath, spotless and sanitized. Air conditioner included. Perfect location for our purposes, but if you don't know […] this part of Toronto you might be a little disappointed, as it's not right downtown (but it's very close). Walking distance to Kensington Market and Chinatown. Cabbed easily to BMO Field. My only complaint was the noise from the neighbourhood but that's because I chose to leave the window open. We had stayed at the Grange Hotel previously, so we knew what to expect. The rooms are small, but they are a great value for those who spend most of the time out and about. There is a kitchenette in the room and wifi is available. Great location. Everything is nearby.
