ot fully 4 star due to overpriced and bad food and sloppy bar and pool area where noone removed glasses, plates etc for whole day (and night). Even if the premises are great.  However, reception staff was friendly and helpful, rooms large, clean and airy and Benahavis white little town just around the corner so who needs the restaurant. Pick this relaxing […] hotel for its settings, a real get away from the busy beaches if the nearby coast. Lovely pool area bur be aware if you are sensitive to sun. No shade whatsoever to get if you're not among the lucky few guests that arrive early and bookmark one of few sunchairs with palmtree shade with your towel -whether or not you'll actually be using it... The Gran Hotel in Benahavis is an attractive choice, with its very nice setting, within walking distance of the pueblo restaurants, nice pools, and comfortable rooms. The hotel receives the best and worst ratings, and I can see why. Upon checking in, I had to try FIVE different rooms to find suitable one, owing to serious problems ranging from bad smells […] to defective equipment. Lovely short break. Beautiful hotel in Moorish style, pretty court yards with fountains. Very peaceful but only a five minute walk into the village with plenty of traditional Spanish restaurants to choose from. Local people very friendly. Excellent value hotel.

Third stay at this hotel, which is really good value. Strangely enough the reception bar was open most nights when we stayed there in January, which it isn't in the summer. The hotel is often criticised for its peculiar bar hours and availability, but who needs them anyway when the village is so close. we booked this hotel before and loved it so we went back again for the 2nd time and still loved everything about this hotel its a hidden gem beside the mountains only drawn back is you need to drive to get to it as its tucked away but well worth it clean and friendly great spa area loved it will defo be bagain again.

We stayed for 2 nights in October. Weather was lovely so we spent 2 days enjoying the sunshine and the wonderful town of Benahavis. The hotel was very quiet which is exactly what we were looking for. The swimming pools were very cold and the bottom swimming pool looked like it hadn't been cleaned for a while so I didn't go swimming. The bedroom was […] huge and very clean. Excellent electronic blinds made the room very dark at night so sleeping was very comfortable. The town of Benahavis is beautiful but very hilly so if you are elderly or have difficulty with walking this town is not good for you. There are some excellent restaurants in the town. If you are looking for a couple of days in the sun without the hussle and bussle of Marbella or Malaga (about 45 mins by car) this is the place to stay. We will be going back. Ďalšie informácie

This is a great hotel provided that you recognise it is not on the coast and you do need a car to explore and travel to the beach. The village of Benahavis contains some excellent restaurants and bars, namely Rufinos, Abiancos and the Bodega Villa Josefa, all of which are excellent value for money. One regular critisism of the hotel on review sites […] is the strange opening hours of the bars, mostly it's the pool bar which is open and then come 19.00 or so nothing. So don't plan on an evening in the hotel, instead head for the village. The hotel rooms are the biggest and best you are likely to find in Spain. The hotel seem slow to react to issues which presumably are nobodys responsibility, Witness the broken 3 legged chair that lay up ended on the bar terrace for the whole of our week long stay. Management open your eyes - you have a great hotel but some sloppy practices! Can't comment on the hotel restaurant as we didn't use it but the buffet breakfast is first class. Stunning surroundings; relaxing atmosphere. Not over crowded, great village close by with lovely restaurants. Great for short breaks.

The hotel is situated in a vally in the pittoresque village of Benahavis with lots of good restaurants and some small shops at 10 min walking from hotel. Breakfast was included and of resanable standard with all the trimmings,coffee out of a machine was not very nice. Two nice pools with sun all day. The hotel was simply excellent. The rooms are magnificent, both in terms of size and fittings. The staff are very friendly and always smiling! We ate dinner there on one of the nights we stayed and we could not speak more highly of it. The quality was excellent and the price was very cheap. this is important to note as there is a lot of competition […] in the local village. The location near the village offers a nice alternative if you don't want to stay in the hotel all of the time. In conclusion, we would have no hesitation in recommending the hotel. This hotel was the best one that we stayed in Spain. Benahavis is a wonderful village and this hotel was perfect for a few days of relaxation by the pool and walk to the village for dinning. The location of the hotel on google maps is off so be aware. DJS

Been going to this hotel now for a number of years . Laid back atmosphere, nice friendly staff, lovely spacious, spotless rooms and the location is amazing! Two lovely pools outdoors plus one indoors in the Spa. Drinks in hgotel are expensive....go up to the village instead! If you want more than the village (which has numerous fabulous restaurants […] and bars!) you will need a car. Can only comment of breakfast and snacks as we have not eaten in hotel restaurant. Breakfast is the usual buffet style ...very nice but often not too hot as is usual in Spain and the snacks we have had have all been excellent as was the service. One gripe is the use of plastic glasses when on way out in the evening as the pool bar is still the only one is use! I went to this hotel at the weekend for a wedding. Absolutley great setting. I would definitely recommend it for a wedding with little reservation. Food was so so. every other aspect was superb and there a numerous local restaurants to try also.

Looked at it five years ago and thought it looked stunning, stayed for three night break and was not disappointed.

I have now been at two weddings in Ben a Vis, it is a Fairy Tale venue for a Wedding and the food is excellent

Very nice hotel, spacious, clean rooms and great value for money. Bar could have done with more staff but other than that had a good service. Pools very nice, could have done with a few more sunbeds though in the weekend. Would definitely recommend a stay there!

Wir waren im November dort, d.h. außer uns waren nur wenige Gäste dort. Trotzdem war der Service in Ordnung, auch für uns Wenige.

Blev grymt besvikna, vi fick inte veta att ett stort bröllop skulle ockupera halva hotellet Vilket medförde att vi inte fick sova ordentligt på 2 nätter, var ett fruktansvärt liv, glass krosades, och det var så livat att vi inte fick en blund i ögonen förräns vid 07.00 på morgonen Då vi har haft ett mycket tragiskt år ville vi bara ha lugn och ro, och […] vi bokade detta pga att det marknadsförs som ett lugnt trevligt spa hotel dom andra gästerna var också rejält arga, fick ingen respons på klagomålet, maten är usel, dåligt...... Hotel trés agréable piscine et SPA trés pratique en été, cadre super contrastant avec Puerto Banus et la foule touristique.

Mysig by, stora rum, bra pris, trevligt poolområde. Dock är det en bit att köra om man planerar att vara i Marbella/Puerto Banus. Missa inte den familjeägda/-drivna argentinska restaurangen på väg upp mot Benahavis, en knallgul neonskylt som lyser "GRILL". Jättebra kött, jättebra viner och mycket trevlig personal till ytterst humana priser!

4 Estrellas en un lugar idilico, muy cerca de puerto banus. Posibilidad de golf en las cercanias y el SPA incluido una delicia. Desayuno bien, y habitaciones enormes con comodidades para ir con niños. Lugas tranquilo muy cerca de las playas.

El pueblo en el que está situado el hotel es muy acogedor y bonito, sin embargo, todo esto se ve contrastado por el trato que se recibe en el hotel. Los empleados más que ayudar a los clientes con sus requerimientos ponen siempre barreras y para una única noche que pasamos en el hotel no nos hicieron la habitación ya que la abandonamos posterior a las […] 15:00 horas, cuando lo que teníamos contratado era la Junior Suite que te daba unas facilidades que otras habitaciones no tenían. La piscina estaba extremadamente sucia, llena de insectos y de pelos de los clientes. La señal de la televisión que llegaba a la habitación era extremadamente pobre. No tenía hilo musical y la decoración era de los años 50. Al no limpiarnos la habitación en la única noche que pasamos en el hotel, al día siguiente no disponíamos ni de toallas ni de champú para asearnos. Algo inconcebible si tenemos en cuenta el precio que se paga por el hotel. El spa muy pobre y de nuevo, se destaca el mal trato por parte del empleado hacia el cliente. Es un hotel bonito, en una zona no muy centrica del pueblo de Benahavis, lo que facilita aparcamiento gratis y salidas a otros puntos de la Costa del Sol, pero a tan solo unos minutos a pie o en coche de la zona de restaurantes del pequeño pueblo. La cama no demasiado comoda pero normal y los servicios tipicos: un minibar caro, una plancha y tabla, secador, tv saltelite... Totalmente recomendable. Importante tener en cuenta que la media pensión se aplica a la cena y la verdad que ir a comer al pueblo (cinco minutos de paseo) es SUPER-RECOMENDABLE. Por lo tanto... lo mejor es disfrutar la estancia en el hotel y comer en el Benahavís. (La cena de los viernes en el hotel con el espectáculo flamenco está agradable...)

Grand hotel benahavis sublime paysage montagneux non loin de puerto banus mais les déplacement se font en voiture pcq qu'il n'y as grand chose a faire dans le village. L'hôtel est excellent a concurrence de l'insonoration des chambres!

Ottima struttura, stanze grandi e bella piscina. Fuori dalla confusione della costa, ma comunque vicina. Avevamo una bella stanza proprio di fronte la piscina, l'unico problema era la luce che di notte filtrava attraverso due vetrate che non potevano essere oscurate. Colazione abbondante.

Kamer, prima, eten 1e instantie 3 gangen daarna buffet, kwaliteit prima, alleen s'-avonds is er niets te beleven, nog geen bar open. Jammer dat men na het avondeten ( soms maar enkele personen ) niets organiseerd voor de gasten. Hotel adverteerd wel men gezellige bar maar wij hebben deze niet kunnen vinden.

L'hotel meriterebbe la 5* stella per il suo aspetto e per i servizi offerti; rapporto qualità\prezzo;eccellente. All'arrivo ci è stato offerto un percorso benessere nella spa, molto bello. Colazione molto varia, accurata e buona. Camera spaziosa e pulitissima. Da consigliare assolutamente

Man kann sich in der Hotelanlage sehr gut von den nahe befindlichen Ausflügen nach Gibraltar oder Ronda erholen. Der Aussenpool mit den vielen Verweilmöglichkeiten sind toll. Prima hotel, zeker in het naseizoen. Prijs kwaliteit is prima in orde. Goed ontbijt en ruime kamers. Bedden zijn naar mijn mening te hard en de kwaliteit daarvan kan beter. Ligt op ongeveer 15 minuten van de zee, richting Estepona.

Cortesia e pulizia fanno da padrona in questo splendido hotel. Intorno alla struttura un verde incredibile, poi la spa e tenuta benissimo. Consiglio vivamente di mangiare nei numerosissimi ristoranti della zona uno in particolare "EL MIRADOR" che a breve cambiera gestione. Bonito pueblo y zona, ideal para poder relajarte y comer genial. El hotel normal. Pese a ser un 4 estrellas, no esperes grandes alardes. Buen y variado desayuno, pobre y cara carta en snack-piscina para comer. La cena, aunque no la hicimos, por lo visto in situ y por comentarios de otros clientes, también es algo escasa. En el pueblo hay multitud de […] sitios y se come de lujo y a buen precio. Las piscinas y jardines bien. Se podía descansar y disfrutar del baño y sol. Las habitaciones espaciosas y cómodas, con bastante mobiliario, aunque con algunas deficiencias de mantenimiento, sobre todo en el baño, que se nota antiguo. En la ducha se salía el agua por el cable, en el techo había agujeros tapados con papel en plan cutre, el aire acondicionado no se podía regular, etc. La limpieza regular. Aunque a la llegada se encontraba todo bien, al siguiente día, practicamente te hacen la cama y poco más. No recogieron ni los papeles de caramelos que dejamos encima de la mesa (bien visibles), y no te reponen los productos de aseo. En recepción bien, atentos y dando indicaciones oportunas. Poco más te ofrecen. Garaje de pago, cuando fuera puedes aparcar sin problemas, wifi de pago, sin animación alguna, ni nada para entretener a los peques. Y en el spa, te obligan a pagar por las zapatillas, otras no valen. Y no se te olvide el gorro de baño, si no, a pasar por caja también. La zona y el entorno, muy positivos. il ne s'agit pas d'un hotel mais plutôt d'un centre de vacances avec animation type soirée flamenco tous les vendredi soirs et barbecue le samedi. La chambre triple qui nous a été proposée était assez vaste mais sans aucune insonorisation: bruit du couloir, des chambres voisines et de l'extérieur, de plus une ventilation automatique se déclenche à 7h […] le matin jusqu'à minuit et là on dirait qu'un avion atterrit dans la chambre. Des lames manquaient au volet , le coffre était hors service et pour boire les conso du mini bar: pas de verres, il fallait boire à la bouteille... Bref un service indigne d'un hotel de cette catégorie qui ne propose même pas un accés wifi gratuit et fait payer le billard du salon... lamentable Personnel peu disponible et pas concerné par le confort du client. Nous avons beaucoup apprecie le sejour a cet hotel. Il est situe dans la montagne, a env. 20 min de la mer. L'acceuil y est chaleureux et les chambres sont spacieuses.
