great hotel for the price location ok had to travel by cab metro or on foot but alot to do around hotel would stay again

The Hampton Inn was very clean and a convenient location. I was especially impressed with how friendly and helpful the staff was. The breakfast was great and rooms were very comfortable. I would reccommend this hotel to anyone!

My wife and I flew into NY from Phoenix to attend the Kidney Walk, Sunday 10/16/11, starting at South Street Seaport. So very convenient for us, and our purpose there. I'm originally from NY so we knew our way around. The room was small, but not uncomfortable. It had exactly what we needed. A clean comfortable bed, clean PRIVATE bathroom, AC. The room […] was modern, with white sheets and comforter, flat screen tv, and nice bathroom with no stains. My only complaint if I had to make one......NO view. We had a brick wall. CLASSIC NY!. But hey, you want views? Go out and explore!!!!! The hotel its self is almost at the most southern tip of Manhattan. A very short walk, maybe a 1/4 mile or less, to the seaport ( a tourist attraction for picture taking and a little NY history), and if you walk a little further you'll be at the Staten Island Ferry, Battery Park (for the ferry to, both, the Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island), and in the area of the Financial District , World Trade Center and City Hall a little north. North of the hotel is China Town and Little Italy. The Hotel is about 3 short blocks from the #6, 5, and 4 train's "Brooklyn Bridge/City Hall" station. The north bound M15 bus stops DIRECTLY in front of the hotel. You can take it up to midtown, via 1st ave, for a lot of the other major sights, if you want to remain above ground. Ďalšie informácie

Excellent stay, personnel also excellent and very polite. Great room and was very clean.

Enjoyed a great view from our room at night of the new Freedom Tower being built at Ground Zero. In the daytime, loved the balcony overlooking the Brooklyn Bridge and the Freedom Tower. From this location, you can get anywhere in Manhattan quickly since it's on a major thoroughfare.

Overall a pleasant experience. Friendly staff. A bit loud next to elevator but not the end of the world.

We arrived at this hotel and was greated by a very friendly person behind the counter. Our room was on the 2nd floor which didn't make me happy because of the city noise but suprisingly enough it was quiet. The room was comfortable and clean and breakfast was not bad either.

We enjoyed our 5 days very much. The staff are very accommodating and helpful. The free breakfast was great. The location of the hotel is within blocks of the Brooklyn Bridge and within walking distance of the Staten Island Ferry and Ellis Island/Statue of Liberty tours. Close to subways. I found this hotel, right next to the Brooklyn Bridge, superbly located and very comfortable, with friendly, helpful staff. It's five minutes' walk from the nearest Metro station, at which you can catch an Express train to take you uptown within a matter of minutes. My room was small but more than adequate - although the curtains over the single window […] were kept closed all the time to stop people looking in from the buildings directly opposite (there's definitely no decent view on that side of the hotel). My family went for vacation to visit Ground Zero. The hotel was great. It was quiet and the customer service was great. They were helpful in getting a cab and giving directions to certain places. We enjoyed our stay at the hotel.

Im talking BEST everything... Staff was awesome got us where we needed to go drew maps etc.. Best room and accommodations for the best price... and I travel ALOT! Defiantly surprised to find such a great place with such great people in a huge city like NYC! Will be re-booking with them for most every trip from here on out!

I would refer this hotel to anyone asking for a stay in this area!

The location is far but the subway stop on Fulton is near. Its really close to chinatown little italy and the south east district. The room itself is small and has limited and i stress LIMITED closet space :( The cleanliness of the room was pretty good but just check your blankets to make sure that its clean. I had to get mine replaced the first night […] because i found hairs on it. yuck! The bathroom was always clean and the room was cleaned everyday. Hotel staff is nice and try to be as helpful as they can be. My room faced the street so if you are a light sleeper try to get a room on the other side because it can get noisy. If you are looking to be close to time square this isn't the place for you. But if you like traveling on the subway and don't mind walking around to check out the sights i think the price is pretty reasonable. I didn't spend much time in my room so it was a good deal for me. People were very nice !! The rooms were very comfortable. The location is great, near the departure of cruise and bus tours, and surrounded by lots of nice restaurants !! The only thing is that the breakfast area is too small, inducing that some people had to eat in the hall way .. But the food was great !! We had a great time there !!

As per reviews, the hotel was clean, comfortable and convenient. The staff was exceptional in all ways. Helpful and courteous. We were very happy with the stay. Breakfast included was just an added benefit.

We visit the city every year and have stayed in several different parts of the city and at all kinds of hotels from 5 star to 2 star. Hotel staff were EXTREMLY accomodating and friendly. Rooms were very clean and modern by NYC hotel standards. Continental Breakfast was excellent. Better than others we have experienced in the city. Our room was on the […] 5th floor which was supposed to be non-smoking but you could definitely smell smoke. We were told the 9th floor was the smoking floor. The location was HORRIBLE for everything we do in the city. Cab ride to Greenwich Village 15.00, This was my fault as I was not completely clear where the hotel was located. We spend most of our time in the village, Time Square and Little Italy. If the location was better it would have been a PERFECT experience. Be sure to request an upper level if you want to see water b.c. view from water side is blocked up thru 4th floor. Breakfast -- altho lots of choices, eggs were artificial tasting & fruit a little off

the service was great at this hotel. And the room was huge with two big beautiful beds. Everything was great for the price. Oddly though, the pillows and mattress smelled old. But the linens were fresh and new.

If you are looking for a reasonably priced hotel that is in a good location and is clean and tidy , then the Hampton inn fits the bill. It is minutes away from the touristy area of south street seaport with it's shops bars and restaurants and a 10 minute walk to the subway. The access onto Brooklyn bridge is about 5 minutes away. Hotel was nice, however the room smelled, sort of mildewy, and the internet service in the room did not work the second or third day, staff was non-responsive, help desk either, they said it was an issue with my computer, my other two colleagues had the same issue, so most of the time we had to work from the lobby. This is definitely not a 4 or 5 star hotel, but the service and comfort was very good and the location was great. My teenage son and I stayed here and were very happy with the neighborhood and the hotel itself. Small but comfortable and clean room, breakfast buffet quite good, staff friendly and helpful.

Great customrer service!! very small room. Bed is sufficiently comfortable, but room is too dark and there is no small referigerator nor safe. However, NYC hotel prices are crazy, so this is the best value I can find. I am pleased with the value I got as a frequent traveler. I stayed here for two nights in August and the room and especially the cold air conditioning were wonderful. The room was very clean and the bed very comfortable. My only complaint is that there wasn't a dresser and the the wardrobe was small and an ironing board took up half of the space. The staff was genuinely friendly and engaged me in conversation […] several times. They even locked up my bags (no charge) after I checked out so I could spend some more time sightseeing. The seaport area is within easy walking distance with a lot of nice shops, restaurants and a TKTS booth. The subway is three blocks aways and is well travelled day and night. I took the subway from Times Square after shows both nights by myself (female) and didn't have a problem. There is a bus that stops in front of the hotel that runs up the east side of the island. There is a drustore/ convenience store a block away for drinks and snacks. There is also a McDonald's, Dunkin Donuts and Wendy's between the subway and hotel. I think this is a good place to stay if you have business in the area but if you are going to see shows just know that it will take you about 45 mins to get there (and back) by subway and plan accordingly. Overall it is a good hotel. The room I was assigned was in the cellar area which was okay except it was opposite the staff lounge. They would talk all night and keep me awake. On the plus side it had a door I could open to a beautiful patio. The patio was surrounded by a 20 foot wall so it felt safe to sit out there an enjoy the weather. The desk […] staff answered a few questions about getting a cab at 5:00 AM in a very helpful friendly manner. Excellent location to the Seaport, Financial District, TriBeCa, etc. Restaurants, shopping, sights all close. About a $30 cab to the MET (north-side of Central Park) so $15-$20 should get you about anywhere you need to go in the city. Subway is close and buses stop right outside the Hampton entrance. 20 minute walk to the west gets you to the banks […] of the Hudson. Excellent staff!
