Friendly staff and very nice facilities and grounds Would like to stay there again

This hotel is nice exception to the cookie cutter approach. Old mansion with lots of property and features. Suggest that they offer express checkout or have the bill slipped under the door so guests don't have to return to the front desk to get a copy of the bill.

we stay here every year at this time. as always room and amenities were 5 star. buffet breakfast (included) was great, omelet station, fresh fruit, and plentiful coffee. highly recommend this place!!!

Though I visited the day before hurricane Irene hit NY there were enough indoor activities to satisfy my needs. The gym good but some of those treadmills sound a bit off. The pool room was nice and breakfast was good. The chef made our omlet infront of us with what ever we chose. Wish I would have gone a different day that's all.

the hotel is very nice but rooms need improvement. both our rooms had issues: the first one had an air conditioner not working, the second one a shower that was not working. personnel was not responsive. overall okay experience.

This hotel is very old and the carpeting in the halls are dirty and worn. Our rooms were very clean and the beds were comfortable. I feel for the money we spent it wasn't worth it. We spent too much and got nothing for it. Most places give you at least a Contential Breakfast, but this place has the nerve to charge $15 a person for Breakfast, after charging […] so much for the room, they should have included the breakfast or at least at a discount. I mean how much are eggs really!! to charge so much for them. Needless to say we will not be going back there ever again and not recommend the place to anyone. The mansion itself was a sight to see, however the room we were given was not in the mansion and was not even attached to the mansion. We stayed in what looked like an old dilapidated two-story apartment building. The room itself was not very inviting and was not luxurious by any stretch of the imagination. We paid for 4 stars and we received 1 maybe […] 2 in return. We have stayed in many hotels, mansions and b&b's and have been disappointed several times in the past. This by far was the most misleading and therefor well overpriced stay we have ever had. I normally visit the location prior to my visit (if it is local) however the pictures they had on their website led me to believe that it was going to be impressive. I wish I had gone with my instincts and made the visit so I didn't spend all that money. I could have stayed a Hyatt or Marriott and had a much cleaner and more inviting room with far more amenities included for a fraction of the price. Whether you have plenty of money to burn or are splurging on a room to celebrate with your spouse/significant other, if you are looking for an impressive, quiet and romantic place to stay, I would leave this one off of your list. Glen Cove Mansion provides its guests with a beautiful base from which to explore this unique area. The hotel itself is a little tired, but our room was clean and updated. (Did have to ask to be moved from beneath the campers, but that was done quickly and efficiently.) Only complaint: the complimentary coffee in the lobby was like water...but fortunately, […] there is a Starbucks in town. The hotel grounds were lovely and service was very, very good. However, the rooms could be "lightened" up and updated.

the bath rom shower did not work properly.so the rate ipaid was not right. i feel over charged. rm 492.

Even though it is a hub for business conferences the Glen Cove Mansion is also a very relaxing place to stay. The grounds are beautiful, the rooms well kept and the staff is eager to please.

As I was walking toward my room in one section of the hallways, I saw a couple of buckets placed under a leak from the ceiling.

It is a little long drive from the airport, but the flair of the hotel, the surroundings, the outside gardens and interior were really worth it. Room was not brand new but very clean and nice and well equipped so we felt very comfortable.

I found a used hand towel in the desk drawer and the middle bureau drawer was broken; when you pulled out the drawer it became unhinged and fell out. The front desk was unwelcoming to the point of impoliteness. When I called back a few days later to clear something up with my bill the Day Manager was extremely rude and unhelpful. while the pictures of the hotel and the look of the front entrance may be impressive the rooms themselves have not being updated since the 70s and could be found in any average motel... The worst of all was the bath tub which had glue residue from a previous bath mat on top of which an old, dirty bath mat was placed (not covering all the sticky part […] that the previous one left...) When I called the front desk asking to change a room I was told that this is the condition of all the tubs in the hotel... yikes! Ďalšie informácie

The Glen Cove Mansion is beautiful, surrounded by lovely landscaped grounds and gardens. All the staff went out of their way to serve with a smile. The room was quite comfortable, but included no frig or microwave. Nothing but coffee was provided complimentary. Even a piece of fruit or pastry, or orange juice, was only obtainable vy ordering from a […] very high priced room service menu. The morning buffet ($14.00+) was really weak. No eggs or waffles or freshly-prepared pancakes. We get a 200% better breakfast at Marriott - included in the room cost!!! It was necessary to climb (small flights) of stairs to the room, so transporting luggage items was tough for old folks. Automobile parking lot was a considerable outdoor walk from the hotel entrance;cold and wet in winter. Getting to ice machine, front desk, and the coffee machine was accomplished via a confusing maze of hallways from the room. There was no ppossibility of obtaining forgotten incidental items such as toothpaste, deodorant, etc., without traveling a mile away from the hotel to a drug store. Ďalšie informácie

This is a gorgeous facility, well maintained with lots of old trees around. A nice walk from beautiful views of the Sound. I have stayed 5 or 6 nights a year for the last 6 years. Frequently, there are wedding receptions on Saturday nights. I'm all for a family having fun and getting hammered, but when the facility can't think to place non-party guests […] in remote locations, a sleepless night is inevitable. I found this out at 2:30AM. Didn't get back to sleep until 4:30AM. Security was no help. I will not return for a Saturday night stay. I spoke with the Front Desk the next morning, and nothing was offered but a shallow apology. We like the amenities that this hotel offers. However, we came at a time when the indoor pool was not functioning...so we were inconvenienced by a day or two. Also, you need to tip the bellhop lucratively in order to get great service or your service will be second rate. You'll have to tip like you're Donald Trump.

The Glen Cove Mansion resides on a beautiful, lush estate. Its welcome foyer is pretty, its Sunday breakfast buffet was nice. We paid the higher price because we were expecting to stay in a mansion with old-style elegance; we were disappointed after our long hike to our room - it was in a completely different wing than our friends' room with multiple […] stairs to make lugging luggage a bit of a challenge - when we discovered a basic hotel room. As we met our friends in the parking lot, we laughed at the red brick, dorm-like construction of the hotel that was added on to the mansion.
