The hotel staff were extremely nice/ helpful. I asked for a room swap but was unable to change on the first night. The 1st room was terribly terrible dark & depressing. "Thin walls and rubbish wifi"
This would be a quite nice hotel if it weren't for two major shortcomings: 1. The walls must be paper thin with practically no sound insulation. You can hear your neighbour blow his nose. You'll hear the water running through the pipes, doors closing, people talking and walking around. You can put the "do not disturb" sign on the door but you can't […] sleep past 8:30 when the chamber maids are making other rooms on the floor. 2. The wifi connection is absolute rubbish. I had my iPhone with me and I could at best connect for an average of 5 minutes every hour. The network keeps disappearing and even when it shows up you cannot connect most of the time. I think in the 21st century it is far more important to have functional Internet connection in a hotel room then a telephon and a hotel that doesn't get that does not deserve 4 stars. The decor of the rooms is slightly dated and they are on the small side but very clean and comfortable. The rooftop pool is great for a few lazy hours in the sun. The hotel is very close to the city center - 5-8 min to the Cathedral. Room is clean, and rather big. Service in the hotel is very good and all people on front desk helpful. The checkout time on expedia website was wrong. We had to wait an hour because of that. Not ideal with a 2 year old. We booked a double room but it was actually a twin. In no way a 4* hotel. Its location is central (about a 10-minute walk from the Cathedral), but there are plenty of options that are more central. The nice part about it location is that it's within equal distance of the Triana bars and the Cathedral. The area around the hotel is also quite good and safe. The bathroom was really clean, and also quite […] nice. The rooms are really clean and the staff is nice and friendly. But: - the cleaning lady walked into our room, which I certainly don't expect in a 4* hotel - the AC was not working Overall, not a bad hotel and I may stay here again -- but there was nothing special about it, and it's certainly in no way 4* in my book. It's quite forgettable. One upside: it has a pool on the top with a really nice view of the cathedral -- highly recommended if you're visiting in the warmer part of the year (we visited in February). I guess it gets very crowded though. All in all, a safe choice if you don't want to take a risk and cleanliness and central location is all you require. "Good location, easy drive in with the aid of Sat N"
We had booked this short stay at the hotel as a break within a break, we were at our appartment on the Costa del Sol, unfortunatly the weather did not favour us for our stay it rained, this together with a bad back, put the damper on our visit. The Hotel however provided a refuge from the rain, it was a shame the in house restaurant was closed for renovation […] but they still managed an excellent breakfast. We thought this hotel was OK. I felt that this hotel could use some updating. The room we had terrible views and seemed a bit on the small side. The bathroom was nice though! The breakfast buffet was good, with many choices. I would look into other hotels before booking this one, if nothing else is available then this one would do. It does grow on […] you. The Becquer Hotel, has everything one needs on a visit to Seville. Comfortable clean rooms, dining facilities, bar and internet access. Good location for all main attractions. Rooftop pool great for cooling off after a hot day out.Do walk across the Triana bridge at the end of the road and have a sherry at the top of the yellow bar/restaurant at the other end. Bliss. Our room had a window looking out into an atrium so no view. However it was quiet and view from the rooftop made up for […] this lack.
