The lobby of this historic Inn is beautiful and views from the front porch are breathtaking.The staff was extremely helpful and courteous .We had a great time and will definitely be back in the fall.This Inn is located in a perfect location.

Shawnee Inn is ideally located and close to all the metro areas: NYC, Philadelphia, etc. It was cozy, staff was friendly & knowledgeable and location nice. The Gem & Keystone was great. Their food was delicious and their beer very tasty. My only cons were I requested a lake view but did not get anything remotely lake view at all - which made me extremely […] unhappy considering the price per night. The hotel was not full but I overheard them tell another customer who asked for lake view that it would be additional even though she specified this in her reservation. We ended up on the 2nd floor, the room & bathroom were god awful small. The bathroom was so small you couldn't get dressed there & there seems to be an issue with the shower, as it took forever to drain, the bathroom was so close to the bed that you could put your foot on the mattress without stretching and I am only 5 ft 2. The walls are thin, there were little kids running around & slamming doors at night in the hall during the hotel's 'quiet' period. Also, everything closes extremely early unless you go to East Stroudsburg. While I appreciated the location and the room was clean, I don't think I'll be returning unless I get to see the room and decide before booking a stay. Ďalšie informácie

Our stay was great very relaxing we stayed 3 nights in March of 2013 we found the staff very helpful and the Gem and Keystone pub was great. The rooms were smaller than a present day hotel but the Inn is 100 hundred years old. I enjoyed all the photos on the walls of Jackie Gleason and Arnold Palmer and Bob hope at The Shawnee.

Loved this hotel so much that we will be changing our vacation plans for the summer this year so we can spend a week here. This place was so peaceful and charming, we loved being here. The room was very clean...the bathroom could use some new tile and caulk.

Well, I took this hotel bcuz of the view. the view is seriously superb. the weather was wonderful . they start a fire outside. the room - was old. because this was the old inn. the bathtub is very small. there is no fridge in the room. no room service which sucks. the sink had this shelf on top of it for soap and things but it was so low you couldn't […] get your head under it to wash your face without making a mess. the comforter had a washed out blood stain. meaning it was washed but the stain never came out. they never changed the comforter no matter how many nights u were there. we left cleaning service a tip the first night - they cleaned the room. second night , third night ... no service. The WI-FI went out a few times i couldnt log back on...the tv was an old tube tv. wack. good thing was that you control the temperature of the room. the lamp outlet for things was half broken. i managed. hot/cold water was good. THERE WAS NO MIRROR other than the one in the bathroom. if i had more luggage - i would not have anywhere to put it. i left my things in the suit case. the towels were god awful. over used and worn out. i ordered the cookies up - which were excellent. i want them right now. the bed was comfortable. the pillows were huge - uncomfortable. i would stay there again - but i will try the NEW inn which is probably more expensive. The rooms/hotel were clean, and the cleaning service did a great job. Everybody was friendly and very helpful. The hotel offers lots of activities to keep everyone occupied, and the location is one of the closest to Mt. Shawnee for skiing/snowboarding.

We loved the historic aspects of the hotel. Although it needs some refurbishing, it remains an elegant and superbly comfortable hotel. Wonderful classic golf resort. As non-golfers my family found the Shawnee to be a great place to meet since we are spread all over the Northeast. Enjoyed Thanksgiving by hiking, biking and relaxing at the resort. Remember that it was built 100 years ago so give the physical structure a break and enjoy the workmanship.

The hotel could have a lot of charm and appeal but it is like most Pocono resorts and stuck in a 1970's time warp. The hard-wood floors and rustic feel of the hotel is great, just not the plastic-lined tubs and tiles from yester-year... time to modernize the rooms and essentials.

A very classic type of Inn from the mid 20th century. Traditional furnishings and ambiance. Beautiful natural surroundings. As we were there in the fall the foliage was in its glory.A bonfire at each night near the river was a very nice touch. I can see why people would come here for golf, weddings and conferences. "Old money" touches for the common […] man...me. Both the restaurant in the main building and the brew pub across the golf course had more than adequate fare and service. Why would you want to go into town when you could sit on the banks of the Delaware and ponder the history that must have floated by. I had a great last minute stay. All of the staff was great.. from the front desk clerks, the concierge (very helpful on a daily basis) to the ladies who served breakfast (the only meal I ate there). I marked it down for the mere reason they didn't have an actual shower, just a tub. But the tub has jets, so that was interesting. The Shawnee Inn itself is quite a nice historic venue. The rooms at the Inn itself are very small given the era that it was orginally built in. Bathroom very tiny as well. The hotel was great. Gorgeous location, pleasant staff, and lots of activities to choose from. The only negative was the process of making reservations through Expedia. I was on hold for unacceptably long periods of time, several times during the same call. Ridiculously poor level of service, and very poor phone connection. I'll never use it again.

Service is outstanding here -- employees smile and it feels genuine. The building and rooms are old, and the doors even stick a bit (humidity?), but it was a great value overall. The hotel has loads of activities -- they run it like a resort, and it's away from the traffic and congestion I'm so used to. A very welcoming and relaxing place!

If you are looking for a hotel that is relatively close to all Poconos attractions and activities, Shawnee is a good choice. We didn't golf but kayaking, house back riding and even going to mount airy casino was fun and not a long drive away.

I was pleasantly surprised how this hotel managed to keep it's charm, yet smartly updated where needed most. Loved the piano music on our entry, the lovely lighting, the beautiful staircase,and even the sound of the squeaky, old hardwood floors in the lobby. Our room was nicely updated, with modern, down-type bedding, laminate floors, and flat-screen […] tv on the wall. The plant and charcoal natural air filter must have helped the air, because it was very clean and fresh. The bathroom could use some eventual updates, it is small, yet, I like charm, so clean is fine, no matter how small. I probably had one of most restful stays ever at a hotel-it was so quiet, yet, people were coming and going. The grounds were lovely for strolling, or watching some golf, or probably some golfers would love this hotel, as you have to drive your cart across a bridge, over the river to get to most of course, which is very peaceful. The price was reasonable, food was excellent, one of best breadfast buffets and service I've ever had. I hope they keep this charm, because sometimes "old" can be best. Nice location, great spa and wonderful service there as well. All very friendly, if need a restful, laid-back vacation, even for two nights as my daughter and I did, this is the place.
