Family owned Thala Beach Lodge, a five star nature and eco resort is located 45 minutes drive north of Cairns and 15 minutes south of Port Douglas. It sits spectacularly atop a headland with breathtaking views of untouched coastline and provides the perfect location to explore the Great Barrier Reef and Daintree Rainforest. Surrounded by water and presenting both a rainforest and a beach experience – it affords an island-feel holiday on the mainland!

The views from the restaurant are panoramic. Guests dine among the birds in the surrounding treetops whilst enjoying modern Australian cuisine with friendly five-star service. Paths meander through rainforests and connect with private sandy beaches. Delightful hours are spent discovering native flora & fauna, secluded coves and rock pools.
Guests also enjoy complimentary guided onsite tours led by passionate staff including a coconut odyssey, stargazing and wildlife walks and bird watching.
Unique hides...
83 deluxe timber bungalows are built high on stilts and nestle in the forest canopy providing a magical and unobtrusive relationship with the natural world. All bungalows have views either to the ocean or the forested mountains. Time spent relaxing on the timber-decked verandahs is always well rewarded by sightings of birds, butterflies, possums and sugar gliders. Guests also enjoy use of two free form rock pools and a lovely day spa/massage facility.

Great hotel for couples wanting to get away from it all. Beautiful private beach and grounds. The hotel is in a secluded area 15 minutes drive from Port Douglas. There are no other hotels or restaurants nearby. If you want to get back to nature and observe the wildlife with the help of the wonderful staff this is the place for you!

As soon as i drove in the long drive way i knew it was going to be beautiful. The staff that greet you are so friendly and helpful. My partner and I spent 5 nights in a jungle walk bungalow and loved every day that we were there. You get plenty of exercise walking to the hotels restaurant as its like walking through a rain forest and if you have trouble […] getting around you can call reception and they'll send someone round to pick you up. The rock pools are amazing and so refreshing. The beaches are breath taking but i must warn you that if you want to go swimming in the beaches it's best to go between May and November as there are no jellyfish during those months. The food at the hotels restaurant is delicious but a little hard on the wallet but Cairns and Port Douglas are just a short drive away and there are plenty of other places to eat. Ďalšie informácie

it doesn't take long to relax at the Thala beach hotel. In fact the minute they take your car keys and present you with your welcome drink you start to unwind.

For a quiet, relaxing holiday, with a beautiful location and great food, Thala Beach was perfect! It is a gorgeous location, and I thoroughly enjoyed my stay. The staff were friendly, and the cabins were very comfortable. The views are spectacular and the beaches divine. Beware though if you have difficulties with walking up and down hills and stairs! Our stay at Thala was delightful. The location is beautiful. From our Eucalypt Bungalow we could hear the steady sound of the ocean waves breaking on the shore. The staff was very friendly, knowledgeable and super helpful. Must go on the coconut tour with Carl! Only complaint might be that they could run the shuttle to Port Douglas a tad more often […] but really not a problem. We would recommend the Thala Beach Lodge to anyone! Ďalšie informácie

Thala Beach Hotel was gorgeous, the staff welcoming and helpful. We loved hearing the waves from our "cottage" close to the beach. The hike back to the lodge is a good workout, but if your knees are giving you trouble the staff will always come get you and drive you up in a golf cart. The lodge/restaurant area is beautiful; you are surrounded by trees […] but they don't impede your view of the beaches. Food is a little pricey in restaurant, but you can always take shuttle into Port Douglas for more reasonable prices and variety. Ďalšie informácie
