BW PLUS INN ON THE PARK - Madison

Hotel was conveniently located near the Monona Terrace Convention Center where my conference was. I felt safe walking in the area and loved the great restaurants I found nearby. If ever in Madison again, I will definitely consider BW Plus Park as a 1st option.

very pleasant, helpful staff. Really appreciated the cup of tea at 5am when taking shuttle to the airport. What civilised person would consider being up at that hour? Hehe those with not choice! Pool is great, love madison and the BW Inn

The bad first. The toilet was troublesome. I had to get up in the night to jiggle the handle to make it stop running. However, I did not alert the management, so it isn't really fair to dun them for something of which they might not have been aware. Then, I wanted to load my car and leave my car in the parking garage while I spent a few more hours […] in Madison. I had a luggage cart filled with my junk, and the valet parking dude handed me my key and gave me directions down a VERY STEEP loop to my car. I think he could have chipped in to help me get my stuff loaded into my car. I would have tipped generously had I been offered that courtesy. The good: The location of this hotel cannot be beat. The view of the Capitol is inspiring and breathtaking. It's an easy walk to bars, restaurants, clubs, theaters, the courthouse, etc. The windows open! We happened to be visiting Madison at the same time as the state high school basketball championship. Although the city was crowded and the hotel was booked with lots of people, our room was quiet, clean and cozy. We also had a fabulous view of the state capitol. Nice!

This is a wonderful older hotel in the perfect location downtown. Everything was quite nice. Only negative - In the room we stayed you could hear people in the halls and a very loud fan otherwise very nice. Great restaurants and bars all within walking distance.

I have stayed at this hotel once before. I love the location and the complimentary parking is awesome. However, the restaurant is not up to par with the hotel itself. It was like a cheap diner. I also had less than great service from the staff this time. I had problems at check in and the girl who checked me in was rather rude and she didn't attempt […] to fix the problem at all. House keeping also came into our room in the morning without knocking. When I told the front at check out, the gentleman said he wasn't accountable for house keeping and ended it at that. I'm willing to go back again, but the poor service may be enough to deter me from doing so. The rooms are beautiful. The best out of any hotel in that price bracket that I have stayed at. However, the TVs are pre-1992 as we couldn't even hook up our Wii to it. Ďalšie informácie

Dated, but clean. Ventilation was noisy and not sure heat worked. Didn't really care, and never called it in. Great location with polite staff and they offer free valet parking (with stay). They allowed early check-in and late (noon) check out. Good value.

Good price, complimentary Valet, a pool/hot tub (although the hot tub was WAY too hot). Close to restaurants near the capitol and on State Street.

We booked a poolside room weeks in advance for a family wedding in Madison. We're the parents of twin toddlers who go to bed early so we booked a poolside room with the intent of being able to have more room to roam and use the pool with the rest of the family while being close to our daughters. Our reservation was confirmed via email as being a poolside […] room. Much to our dismay and disappointment, the poolside room was not available at check-in. The front desk manager simply verbally "apologized," made no recourse to improve the situation, and stated the hotel was booked. Sure enough, all the cousins, aunts and uncles, and other family spent the night down by the pool while we were cloistered in our 4th floor room. We drove over 4 hours to spend time with the family, only to have incredibly poor customer service crash our plans. I have stayed here before and had similarly disappointing experiences. I will never stay again and don't suggest it. A small but specific complaint: the hotel smells like cheap room deodorizer/air freshener. If you have any allergies or are adverse to faux air fresheners, I wouldn't stay here. I have neither and was discomforted by the smell. Ďalšie informácie

I love this hotel. Except, this last time I did not think the people were very friendly at all. I had asked for a balcony room twice and did not receive one upon entering the room. Hotels.com assured me I had one when I booked the room but I decided to call ahead and make sure and the hotel informed me I did not have one and they would reserve one for […] me at that time. In the end, they were able to accommodate the request but they were not pleasant about it and one of the employees did not even speak to us after at least two comments to him and a thank you. They were there when we needed them but they just were not friendly. However, this would not stop me from staying there. I like the balcony rooms and the location is a definite plus. This hotel was everything it claimed and more. Some of the nicest staff I have encountered in a long time. They went out of the way to make the experience pleasant. It is also very well maintained. Would definitely recommend and visit again.

The central hotel location, just next to the Capitol, is great. The hotel staff is helpful. The hotel decoration is little bit old though and would benedfit from a little refurbishment.

The BW in the Park has a great location next to the Capitol Square and one block from State Street shopping. We enjoyed the Veterans' Museum, The Great Dane Brewpub, the Capitol Haus.

The BW Plus Madison is not fancy or trendy with modern furnishings. Buts its clean and confortable with a great location.

We ended up in a room that had 1 Queen bed...we had expected two. For a three night stay, that was way too small for my taste. Hotel staff was awesome so if you weren't spending too much time in the room, it was great. Most rooms are larger.

I stayed here for just one night when I was visiting some friends in downtown Madison. the location is ideal - close to bars and restaurants. You are directly on the square so you can have a view of the capital building if your room is facing that direction. The valet parking is complimentary. the room and bathroom were a little small but satisfactory. […] the staff help was friendly and the restaurant connected with the hotel was all right. Hotel is really quite nice -- not a luxury hotel by any means, but clean, quiet, and in a great location. I will be back.

Hotel was clean and convenient. We were able to leave our vehicle at the hotel the entire weekend and truly enjoyed Madison and especially State Street. You are only a short walk from the University of Wisconsin. All of the staff that we came into contact with was pleasant, polite and helpful. If I ever go to Madison I will try to stay here first.

A great hotel in the perfect location. We had four people in a suite and so were able to come and go comfortably at all hours because we could use the front room as a transitional area. Great staff, great location, clean, convenient, and comfortable - but be sure to ask for a room facing out - preferable toward the Capitol Building. My only complaint was a view of roofs from an interior room. Also, there is a nice indoor pool/hot tub - but no sun deck, which would be nice in the summer.

Great location on the Capital Square in Madison. Hotel lobby and hallways not much to speak of, but room was nice and well kept. It was definitely worth the price of a room with a view, but imagine my annoyance being woken at 6:45AM by the announcer for the Madison Marathon!!! Pros: Great location - right on Capitol Square and walking distance of the best of Madison; Free indoor valet garage parking; Many hotel amenities - pool, gym, computer room, room service, restaurant; Operable windows; All spaces we saw were clean. The hotel was o.k. overall for the price, but the room we had did not have a window to the exterior. It looked out over a small area with tables that made us uncomfortable. Asked for a different room, but none available . Stay away from room 329.

Well located right across the street from the state capitol (it was worth the slight extra cost to get a room with a view of the capitol). It's also a fun walk from the hotel to the University of Wisconsin campus. Highly recommended.

Located right on the Square, it is in the center of everything with lots of night life, free parking, free WIFI and great rates. I stay there whenever in the area.

I have stayed here more than 5 times before. This time I was given the smallest room I have ever been in. If they give you room 714 ask for another room. Woke up the next morning and went to make some coffee and the incorrect coffee had been supplied for the in room coffee maker. Not a problem because I knew they had coffee in the bar for guests of […] the hotel. To my amazement when I got to the loby there were no coffee pots. I asked where I could get a to-go cup of coffee to take to my room and they said no problem. The person came back with a cup and then said "That will be $1.95 please". I objected strongly and they said just take it. This place has gone downhill since the last time I was there which was in November 2010. A very nice feel, great amenities including a business room, swimming pool and airport shuttle, and very gracious customer service, for about 30% less than what I found in the immediate vicinity.
