Everyone was really friendly. I stayed with children. We enjoyed the indoor pool. It was easy on and off the Interstate to get where we needed. Shopping near by.

Ever single person we saw went out of their way to be friendly and helpful. The rooms were impeccably clean, even if the decor was slightly outdated. The beds were incredibly comfortable, and the spa and restaurant were out standing!

Spent two nights here while visiting my inlaws and my fiancé and I were able to make a family visit into a get away. The staff was very courteous, the room was amazing and the whole hotel was busy, but the rooms were very quiet. I will definitely stay here again when we go back up in August!

The Senator Inn and spa was above our expectations. We shopped for three days straight and always came back to the hotel to find our room spotless and the staff went above and beyond to make us feel at home. I will recommend this spot to all our canadian friends. Thanks for a great stay.

Room 201 was a former smoking room - it smelled like stale smoke, especially when fans were running....should not be advertised as "non-smoking" in it's present state. Pool and spa area were lovely and breakfast was great.

We arrived with four reserved room and needed an additional that they were able to find as our group had grown. We had three special needs people in our group and staff couldn't of been nicer being sure that we were all set and comfortable. Overall this was a cute quiet place. My only complaint would be finding my rm. perhaps my checkin could have been more clear that my entrance was thru the spa and couldn't be seen from the road.

While this hotel might be better suited to a romantic getaway than a family vacation (no under-15s allowed in hot tub, sauna, fitness area), it was a wonderfully staffed, clean, and comfortable place to relax.

I was quite surprised with the poor quality of the Presidential Suite. The paint in the bathroom was peeling and the overall quality was old, smelled of smoke and dingy. In addition, there was work going on during the day and the noise was very loud.

Except for the fact that I was at an exit and there seemed to be a bit of noise....I do believe it was one of the better hotels that I have stayed at. Continental breakfast was the best I have had anywhere. Wouldn't hesitate to book here again.

Because this hotel serves the locals as a spa we couldnt help fall into relax mode. The pool closed at 9pm and were use to 11pm so we pre-ordered room service and went for a swim/hot tub. The stay was great, the family loved the pool, yoga and work out rooms. Our dogs liked the accommodations also, but did bring their own beds and blankets. I would go back again. The staff and management really strive to make it a home away from home. Little details like cleaning snow off the patrons cars was a nice touch. Those little extras are nice. I was well relaxed while there and was almost sorry to have to leave.

Our bathroom door wouldn't shut unless you really slammed it (which was very inconvenient for late night bathroom trips) and in the morning when I went to take a shower there was no hot water. The hotel was very clean and the room was comfortable. We didn't get a chance to use the pool but it looked attractive and we'll be prepared to use it on our next stay. I spent a lot of time deciding where to book in Augusta, Maine and almost changed my reservation at the last minute. Thank goodness I didn't. My two teenaged kids (read: tough crowd) and I really enjoyed our stay at the Senator Inn and Spa. Not only was our rate extremely reasonable -which enabled us to book multiple nights while we were in the area […] looking at colleges - but it included the breakfast buffet (with REAL fresh fruit like ripe cantaloupe, sweet pineapple, strawberries and oatmeal, waffles, scrambled eggs, made to order hot chocolate for the kids with extra whipped cream) but it also came with spa privileges. As a hotel guest I was able to take classes at no charge in the adjoining fitness facility. I loved being able to enjoy an evening yoga class and a soak in the beautiful pool and hot tub before bed each night. If I'd brought along my sneakers I could have taken Zumba or a boot camp training session or run on one of the many tread mills. The hotel has been in business for twenty plus years and family owned the whole time. From the outside, the architecture suggests that it's a chain but once set foot inside, the service sets it apart. On every level of the staff was exceptional. From housekeeping (friendly, professional, meticulous) to the front desk, to the dining room to the spa everyone was enthusiastic and went the extra mile to make sure our stay was a good one. This is a well kept up older hotel with an amazing pool and spa. The breakfast is one of the better ones we've gotten at similar priced inns. Our room was very clean and fairly well appointed, although the bathroom was small. Everything worked great. The indoor pool is hard to beat anywhere. We will definately stay there on our way back home.

We booked the Senator in Augusta on a whim, not knowing much about the city or the location of the hotel relative to other attractions. It was situated right off the highway, couldn't miss it. Very close to shops and restaurants. It was a fantastic stay. Guests have access to the gym and spa where they have an indoor pool, sauna, steam room and hot […] tub. Have stayed several times in Senator. Enjoyed the pool, breakfast. We were put in far east wing: noisy, trucks passing from 4:30 am on, poor mattress, poorly functioning shower, cold with inadequate blankets. We will insist on another wing if we return.

Easy to locate with friendly staff, Senator Inn and Spa is one of the better mediocre hotel options in Augusta. The rooms are horribly outdated but clean. I found it slightly distressing that in the dead of winter (0 degree high) there was nothing but a flimsy blanket (and one of those scary patterned bedspreads) on the bed. After calling the front […] desk and requesting something warmer, one of those spongy velour blankets (stained no less) arrived at our door. I didn't use it. We attempted to use the pool on Saturday night (about an hour before it closed) because what greater joy could there be than an indoor pool during the winter? Turns out this pool isn't heated, or if it is it's heated VERY low. I lasted about 10 minutes. The hot tub isn't very big and already had about 8 occupants so we just gave up and went back to our room. We did enjoy the daily free breakfast. It was hot and convenient and the coffee flowed. This hotel is obviously older but we could tell that some upgrades had been done. Something really should be done to replace the duck paintings in the room. :) The only main thing I did not like about our room is that the bathroom door did not shut properly, again probably because the building is older. The room was very clean and just right for a cozy […] night's stay. It was nice to have direct access to our vehicle through the outer door or access to the rest of the hotel through the hallway door. The complimentary breakfast at the hotel restaurant was really good with healthy options, a nice change over most pre-packaged hotel breakfasts. Really loved this hotel. When we arrived, after that terrible snow storm drive, the front desk attendant offered to upgrade our room for $20.00, how could we refuse? So we spent the night in this wonderful 2 room suite, with a jacuzzi tub, fireplace and three televisions! We went to the Cloud 9 restaurant right there in the hotel and had a wonderful […] meal. The waitress was wonderful too. Hmmmm, drawbacks? The only problem I found was that the pool was waaaay over in another wing. We never did get to enjoy the hot tub or the pool. Not the most modern, but very beautiful New England hotel with enough of the modern conveniences to make the stay excellent. Was given a complimentary upgrade to a presidential King room, and though I did not get to use the spa facilities, I did get to see them and they are spectacular. I highly recommend this hotel!

The Senator Inn is perfect for families! Their Mineral pool was very refreshing and clean. The temperature was just right. I agree with their no children allowed in the hot tub due to the risks associated with that. The room was comfortable, and ALL of the staff were friendly. The complimentary buffet continental breakfast is the best we've ever had […] at any hotel. Our children (all 4 of them) had a great time, and it was a great stay for my husband and I as well.
